Common Questions and Answers about Testosterone in mice

Avatar f tn My husband was recently diagnosed with azoospermia with high FSH of 29.5 (range: 1.5-12.4), LH of 20.9 (1.7-8.6), Prolactin 425 (86.0-324.0), Testosterone 11.6 (9.9-27.8). I've read several articles stating that acupuncture could be used to lower FSH Levels and therefore my husband decided to go for it. He did five sessions and the acupuncturist advised him to take some tests to check whether there is any change at all in the results.
1981227 tn?1336328438 I think we have talked about this stem cell treatment and the reversal in mice before but I don't remember the sugar study. Even if it is old news, it is always good to share because not everyone sees it the first time around. Thanks for passing these on.
Avatar n tn Ok I have a red tail boa and I feed him mice. I'm about a month pregnant and was wondering if its ok to handle the mice and clean out their tank? Thank you.

On the other hand, tumors formed in 100 percent of the control group of mice not given vitamin E. Those incredible results, though tested on mice, show just how powerful vitamin E really is. According to Dr. Ling, "Currently there is no effective treatment for metastatic prostate cancer, because it grows back after conventional therapies in more than 70 percent of cases.
649848 tn?1534633700 Oh no, it sounds like you have quite a problem on your hands. Strange that things would start spring leaks now. Have they only recently been installed with wrong joints or have they been that way for years? For the mice - think about getting some peppermint oil and soak cottonballs with it to put around the house. I put them in glass bowls to prevent damage to any surfaces. That sure got rid of the mice in my Aunt's garage, even without sealing it up right away.
665881 tn?1248926997 and this is in mice - and mice don't get MS..... people do. Erin, I know you want to be excited about this, but there are lots of other developments that give us hope too. Don't get down waiting for a cure, ok?
Avatar m tn To examine Hoxb8’s effect, the researchers injected bone marrow from mice with mutant Hoxb8 mice into healthy mice. The healthy mice began licking themselves compulsively, pulling out their fur and creating sores. In turn, the researchers injected the mutant mice with healthy bone marrow, and these mice became non-obsessive.
Avatar m tn In conclusion… Prohep was effective in reducing HCC growth significantly in mice. Th17 was likely to be the major producer of IL-17 in the tumor microenvironment that has linked to HCC growth and angiogenesis, and its decrease in tumor was probably related to the reduced recruitment from the gut via circulation.
649848 tn?1534633700 t seen this evidence in detail, he could see mice had been around) and has killed about seven mice since then, and this past weekend we vacuumed and mopped and removed all places where there was mouse evidence, and I've taken our cats over and they are at the farm now. But it feels kind of grim.

319532 tn?1250988576 Here's a statement from another website (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jv6nh30O0e7ydhqQO0GGldkpxnkw)......."Strikingly, if it was given after the mice developed full-blown symptoms, lisinopril reversed their paralysis." This is the second real promising discovery i've seen in the past week or so.
Avatar m tn do not come into contact with the dead mice their droppings or any surfaces the mice have come in contact with. U can contact a disease called lvcm which is dangerous to an unborn baby. Have a non pregnant person dispose of the mice and their droppings and clean infected areas with bleach to kill the virus. Also winterize ur home to keep them out and call in an exterminator. Also notify ur ob u have had contact with rodents so they can monitor things.
Avatar f tn After giving birth to my 2nd child, I had an MRI of my lower back to help determine the cause of low back pain. It showed a bulging disc and a herniated disc at L4-L5 and L5-S1. Underwent disc decompression and that corrected this. The pain was still there. My GP determined that the little fatty "knots" in my low back were back mice and began injecting them wtih lidocaine. This gave me temporary relief. I'm still having pain and the back mice are still there.
649848 tn?1534633700 Good morning. I hope you're having a great weekend. It's been raining here - seems like it's been days and days - actually, it has been. We've had something around 11" of rain this month. Some has come in small showers and some has come in downpours of 2" or more in a short period. I hate to complain of dealing with rain, when there are parts of the country/world who desperately need it.
134578 tn?1614729226 My cat has a new hobby, carrying live mice into the house in the middle of the night. He rarely seems interested in actually killing them, acting more like he does it for entertainment purposes. This includes chasing them around (including up the blankets into our bed), stepping on them to see if they will squeak, tucking them under our bed and forgetting they are there until they move around a day later -- evidently he thinks they are unusually animated toys, certainly not dinner.
Avatar f tn I found out in 2019 I had low testosterone (0.6) and high SHBG (134), still same numbers as of June this year. Back in 2019, A doctor prescribed me AndrolGel. After a week or two into the treatment I had insane heart palpitations, high BP’s, dizzyness, sweating, headaches, the works pretty much. After a month or two of ER visits and doctors telling me it’s not the AndrolGel, I stopped it. Told me everyone has testosterone in their body speech. My dosage was 1 sachet of 2.5gm 1% twice a week.

Avatar n tn I'd like to know what my blood test results may mean. I've taking diet pills (ephedrine/caffeine) for a few years. In last year my endurance has decline. About 8 months ago I started noticing Fatigue, memory problems, body aches and problems maintaining erections. I started taking pregnenolone and 7-keto DHEA thinking it would increase testosterone. I finally went to my doctor 2 1/2 months ago. He ordered blood tests.

3191940 tn?1447268717 That's an interesting article! First, I did not know mice got Alzheimer's. Do you think they know they are mice when they do? How do they know the mice have Alzheimer's? Okay, I'll stop. But really, how fantastic would that be to have a preventative measure for this debilitating health issue? Heck ya I'd take that vaccine! The article didn't say how long until it will be tested on humans. I hope the benefit they see in mice carries over. I'm all for it!
Avatar n tn I noticed at the end of the day that i had these baby mice all over the bottom of my boat. I must of had a mice nest in my boat and the babies must have crawled out of the various benches. My main concern is that i was exposed to rabies from possible contact with these baby mice that were all over the place. When i got to land, i flipped the boat, and noticed the mothers tail come through the bench.
680313 tn?1249312403 I've had pet rats but never bred them. And I've raised hundreds of mice. Typically with mice I only have 2 females and 1 male in a cage. There's never been any problem keeping the male in there with his "women." He's even been helpful snuggling with the babies to keep them warm while the females come out to eat and exercise. Yes, the females are very protective and nippy around time of delivery.
Avatar m tn when they ll test on humans and show hcc cure they will have a value, a study on mice alone has very little value...
Avatar m tn We have evaluated the potential of a novel vaccine formulation comprising particulate hepatitis B surface (HBsAg) and core antigen (HBcAg), and the saponin-based ISCOMATRIX™ adjuvant for its ability to stimulate T and B cell responses in C57BL/6 mice and its ability to break tolerance in syngeneic HBV transgenic (HBVtg) mice.
