Avatar m tn I have been experiencing low testosterone myself and I have read a great deal on the importance of testosterone in the male. My male dog is fixed. He is 3 years old and seems very healthy. But i've begun to worry about his testosterone levels and how it effects his health. Is there a natural way to support my dogs testosterone levels. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn I am a 25 year old female, I had a saliva hormone kit evaluated with testosterone, DHEA, estradiol, and progesterone, also progesterone/estradiol ratio done. The results came back as this, Estradiol- normal Progesterone- Low; 47.2 (range of 127-446) Ratio of Progesterone to estradiol - 33.0 Low; (range of 200-600) Testosterone- 83.5 High; (range of 6.0-49) DHEA- 366.7 High- (range of 106-300) I can tell that i have way higher 'male hormones' than the women's hormones but, why?
Avatar m tn Your testosterone is apparently in the normal range. How do you know that this is low for your age? Also, losing weight only benefits can bring to you if you have it in excess. So, you mean here that you have 100 pounds more than normal for your age and height? That sounds to be a lot, especially combined with a sedentary job. Regardless of testosterone considerations, losing weight is a no-brainer in your case.
Avatar m tn Testosterone that becomes bound to serum globulin is not available to cell receptor sites and fails to induce a libido effect. When testosterone binds to sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), it loses its biological activity and becomes bound testosterone, as opposed to the desirable free testosterone.European researchers have identified constituents of nettle root that bind to SHBG in place of testosterone, thus reducing SHBG’s binding of free testosterone. 8.
Avatar m tn Hi sorry hormone therapy will not help at all , there are no pills or cream to make your penis any bigger , take care ,
Avatar f tn I think im having hormone issues but the blood test appears to be normal (have to chat my doctor more about the results though). Here is what has happened so far: August: Diagnosed with ovarian cyst October: Told to go off the pill (yasmin). Had been on it for about 3 years. November: Surgery to remove ovarian cyst, left ovary and tube. Anaemia. Did not have a period, due to come a week after surgery.
865758 tn?1285952904 When my endo doc ran the TPO antibody test he also checked my testosterone levels and they have come back high. Does the thyroid cause all these other imbalances as well? My endo suggested peri menopause because of the Hashimoto's and I have all the symptoms but afraid that it is just the thyroid messing everything up. He talked about possible estrogen replacement but I don't want to go there if not necessary.
Avatar n tn Your lab values are all normal with the exception of your testosterone which is at the borderline of normal. Testosterone levels in younger men (you qualify) do vary in the course of the day and are highest in the morning. A repeat value obtained in the morning may well demonstrate a higher value. However, the overall picture is that of normality from a laboratory point of view. You then have to look at medications as many of them affect libido and energy. Any street drugs?
Avatar m tn Low testosterone and low LH at the same time may mean secondary hypo, because if testosterone is low LH should be high as this is the hormone that tells your body to produce more testosterone and it should be increased to raise your T levels.
Avatar m tn As well, Which testosterone? Free, total? Did you have a sex binding hormone test done? All this would be part of a comprehensive androgen check. The thing with hormones that docs seem to fail to remember from their training - is that they work in feedback loops. So if testosterone is low, other things are working overtime high to make up for it or not functioning at all - so the loop is broken. And since the androgen can come form the pit or the adrenals, they need to test you well.
Avatar m tn I recently took some blood tests which show normal levels of IGF-1, Prolactin, Testosterone, Estradiol, but low levels of Luteinizing Hormone and low levels of Follicule Stimulating Hormone. Does this indicate anything?
594189 tn?1386916607 I have an increase in testosterone can that be caused by the low pregesterone? Also my blood sugar is 104 is that really that bad and can the hormone imbalance cause that? Thanks in advance for all information. I really just want to have a baby.
Avatar m tn Various investigations required are chromosomal studies, hormone studies like Gonadotropins (LH and FSH), Testosterone and DHT levels, thyroid hormone lvels, ultrasonography and testosterone therapy. I would suggest you to consult a urologist and discuss this possibility with him I hope that helps.Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn As I understand it, when one injects testosterone (lets say Testosterone Enanthate) the body converts (with an enzyme) the excess testosterone into estrogen. The pituitary gland also senses this huge influx of testosterone and sends a message to the testes in the form of Oestrogen to shut down the bodies natural production of testosterone.
Avatar m tn A low testosterone level may indicate an elevated prolactin level as well - a condition known as a hyperprolactinoma. Elevated prolactin can decrease testosterone levels by decreasing the secretion of the hormone that tells the testicle to produce testosterone.” Refer: http://www.diagnose-me.com/treat/T12335.html Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn I did inform the Doctor I have been tired lately so he ordered blood work to check hormone levels. Turns out my testosterone level is low. Actually looked at my bloodwork records just prior to tumor removal and all hormone levels were WAY OFF - They have all seemed to come back to normal levels with the exception of my testosterone. My surgeon is referring me to a endocrinologist. Working on making an appointment now.
484508 tn?1290010544 Generally, though, I would suggest a morning value along with a prolactin (another hormone that rarely is related to low testosterone) as well as a check on your thyroid function. If you do need hormone replacement it will need to be a life long treatment, just as diabetes requires life long care. The gels and patches give the closest to normal replacement levels. The patches, however, have a significant incidence of skin reactions.
Avatar f tn The high testosterone could be causing the facial hair. Too much male hormone. Is there a decimal point missing in the TSH? Is it 1.97? Do you have a ref. range for bun/creat? A BUN/Creatinine ratio can help your health professional predict which conditions, such as dehydration, may be causing abnormal BUN and Creatinine levels and decreased kidney function. As for the normal values it depends on the age. For infants younger than 1 year the BUN/Creatinine ratio normally reaches up to 1:30.
Avatar m tn should i set up an appointment with an endo? my LH was 4.5 on a flag reference range of 1.5-9.3 mIU/mL. my testosterone was 505 ng/dL. as you can see all my numbers are in the low normal range. could my blood test result indicate secondry hypogonadism. i recently cancalled an appointment with an endo, because i felt asthough i might be seeming like a hypochondriac.
Avatar m tn Various investigations required are chromosomal studies, hormone studies like Gonadotropins (LH and FSH), Testosterone and DHT levels, thyroid hormone lvels, ultrasonography and testosterone therapy. Treatment depends on the cause of microphallus. I would suggest you to consult a urologist and discuss this possibility with him I hope that helps.Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn Hello, What you seem to be having is called micropenis or microphallus. It can be due to testosterone deficiency, pituitary hormone deficiency, hypergonadotropic hypogonadism and growth hormone deficiency. Various investigations required are chromosomal studies, hormone studies like Gonadotropins (LH and FSH), Testosterone and DHT levels, thyroid hormone lvels, ultrasonography and testosterone therapy. I would suggest you to consult a urologist for this. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
