523927 tn?1257018704 according to some latest research I read the other day high hdl levels are probably not so healthy after all they are apparently linked to a higher risk of heart problems,if your cholesterol levels are ok I would not be to concerned.
Avatar m tn The UK medical journal, Heart, wrote that during one of their studies men with low testosterone levels were at double the risk of dying than men with higher testosterone levels. Considering you have heart problems now, it would probably be a good idea to go the way of the hormone replacement for the time being so you get the protection of the raised levels. After that you can figure out where you want to go with natural testosterone boosters. Hope that helps. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Due to project-related sleep problems a few months ago, my testosterone levels were low. My urologist warned me that my testosterone levels should be fine once the project-related stress disappears. So far, so nice. However, I ordered Testogel (50 mg) testosterone replacement gel. I used it perhaps once per week or once every 2 weeks. I cannot tell yet if it affects muscle gains, but surely, I feel slightly different on it.
689860 tn?1238718032 from my experience, they are more in tune with diabetic needs, and not age related hormone modulation). What seems to work best to raise your hormone levels to where they need to be are WEEKLY injections of between .5 and 1 cc of testosterone. Be sure your doctor monitors your levels monthly including your estradiol (estrogen) levels. When your proper testosterone levels are achieved, continue to monitor your estradiol levels monthly for up to 6 months.
7702223 tn?1394319054 I keep hearing that cocoa butter has been linked to babies developing heart problems. Is there any truth about this? I've been using it and I'm really worried now.
Avatar n tn I had the same problems and found my vitamin D was 8ng/ml in Jan 2015 severely low, should be 50 to 80.
1139187 tn?1355706647 Hello, Androgel contains testosterone gel can be used for testosterone replacement but should be sued with caution because it has plenty of side effects. It may cause skin irritation, blisters on skin, problems with urination, nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice and swelling of ankles. Hence use it only under a medical supervision. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn I took enough of it that it nearly zeroed my levels of estrogens. Due to some weird problems with blood pressure I was taken off this (And other drugs) to try to figure out if one of the meds was the BP problem. Letting my estrogen levels go up restored my sex drive. This is just my amateur 2 cents worth (I am not a doctor) I think having too little estrogen can mess up your sex drive just as too little testosterone can.
Avatar n tn It seems to slowly be recovering. I was about 2.5 months into a 3 month cessation of testosterone gel due to hypogandism. Of course, my testosterone was really low. I am noticing the slow recovery of my max heart rate after I initiated a testosterone normalization protocol. I am 40 years old and have 25 stents. My last nuclear stress test was normal, although my exercise tolerance dropped. I used to go for 15:30 secons and only made is to about 10 minutes.
Avatar m tn See your doctor. Your doctor can prescribe testosterone gel for you. The gel comes in measured doses that you rub on to your body (not the genitals). I am not sure if the testosterone has anything to do with the sperm count. You need to discuss your options with your doctor.
Avatar n tn I'm sorry this is happening. You can have a reaction to anything. There's probably something in the formulation of the liquid that is giving you a reaction. There are other forms of testosterone you can take. There's a patch you can wear on your arm, or a mouth patch, and a gel you apply directly to your skin, usually on the arm. Talk to your doctor about your treatment options. Here's more info on them - https://www.webmd.
694895 tn?1263662430 My last episode began in the fall of 2006 and, in spite of numerous antidepressants, my symptoms perstied. I finally asked my Family physician to check my testosterone level. The result was 80...At my age, it should be close to 350. It is possible that low T is responsible for the severity and long duration of this episode. The Rx prescribed is Androgel...but at $250 an Rx I am unable to have it filled...I have no insurance and not enough money to start the treatment...
Avatar n tn Your family doctor can send you for the blood work. you need total testosterone, free testosterone and estrogen levels checked. I was treated @ age 35 and I am now 45 and I haven't taken my meds for 2 yrs and have had alot of health issues in the last 2 yrs esp with my heart it's time to go back to the replacement therapy. I have tried them all from injections to gels to patches.I like the injections I give them myself but the do hurt like hell.
Avatar m tn I was told to cut back the Prevacid to once a day. My blood work shows no obvious problems. Has prevacid been linked to Osteoporosis? This discussion is related to Prevacid and Osteoporosis.
Avatar m tn I switched from patch to gel, and it only takes about a week to get normal readings. The gel is wonderful. Let me know about your experience.
Avatar m tn As of now it feels like i am weighted down with 100 lb weights and feel horrible. Also my semen is clumpy almost like a gel, i hear that is a sign of low testosterone. Any imput would be great.
Avatar m tn But for a man so young to not be producving enough testosterone is not normal. There has to be an underlying cause and that needs to be addressed. Testosterone levels start to drop at 40 and low levels cause brittle bones, mood swings, depression, anxiety and hot flashes, impotency, etc. You should be seeing a difference in how you feel, and since you're not contact your Endo about this and also find out "why" you're not prodocing enough testosterone.
Avatar m tn In 2003 a urologist put me on testosterone injections to treat ED and supplyment testosterone after I had lost my left testicle due to complications from a vasectomy. I was warned about the possible effect of getting more agressive. To the surprise of my wife and I, our relationship has become even better. Due to further urological problems, I have not been able to engage into sexual intercourse with my wife since March 2008.

Avatar f tn i used to not have a period for about 4 months- 5months, now its average from 2 months to 5 months. pcos is a hormone imbalance that is linked to high levels of testosterone in your blood and insuline resistance making it hard for your hormones to regulate which stops ovulation. look into it hun, symptoms i have are, high levels of testosterone, borderline insuline resistance, depression, excessive hair on my arms, dandruff, irregular periods. could be worth it for you to look into.
Avatar m tn The FDA just announced that dicoflenac gel (brand name Voltaren Gel) often prescribed for arthritis pain is linked to severe liver damage and it can happen within the first month of use According to the FDA, this topical gel has been reported to cause liver necrosis (death of liver cells), jaundice, and liver failure some cases of which have required liver transplant and some that have been fatal! Despite these horrible side effects, dicoflenac gel remains on the market.
Avatar m tn The things you listed are good to test also free testosterone, estradiol, shbg, and prolactin. Free testosterone is more important than Therapy will have an effect on your symptoms, however it is permanent and expensive. From what I have heard free testosterone is more important as it is the one available for use by your body. I would think before going onto therapy you should retest at least three times at that low level. What time of the day did you take your test? Are you overweight?
