Avatar n tn Hi, I am a 32 year old man. I believe I may have low testosterone levels. My "male organ" never really grew during puberty like most people. It is only between 1"-1.5" flaccid and 4.25" erect. It is also very skinny in girth. On top of this, it is very hard for me to gain muscle mass. My chest has never been muscular and well defined no matter how long I work out.
Avatar n tn Been pretty healthy since. However, I have experienced some significant loss of muscle mass in my buttocks, legs, feet, arms, chest. I went to an endocrinologist and there were no findings other than a low normal testosterone. I have been taking testosterone injections with no improvement. The endocrinologist suggested an HIV test but I have been so worried about that I have so far declined My questions are: 1. Could this be a symptom of wasting from HIV infection 2.
Avatar n tn The role of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone in muscle growth is not completely understood, however, it is known that low levels of both of these hormones in an elderly male can lead to muscle weakness and loss of muscle mass and conversely that increasing these levels cause an increase in muscle mass and strength. This medication could be contributing to your inability to gain muscle, however, there is no way to tell if it is the exact cause.
Avatar m tn Re: Thank for your comment earlier. I appreciate it. question about penis enlargement. I heard that testosterone will increase penis size. Im embarrass to say it but my penis is only 6 in when erect. And my ex-girlfriend made repeated comments about how her other boyfriends were bigger and how she liked "big cocks." I feel like I should do something to increase my size. Im kind of ashamed and upset by this.
Avatar m tn BUT now the muscle and joints problem. I did have hormone test that showed testosterone to be very low and will start something I THINK soon but Dr does not think it is the reason. DOES any one have any ideas ? My Dr has just hit a wall. (Admits he knows very little about hormones) NEED HELP SOON!!
Avatar m tn ve also read that taking testosterone has many great benefits (Testosterone supplementation trims visceral fat, builds skeletal muscle, improves muscle strength, and promotes overall sexual function). Are there any negative side-effects? Thank you for your help!
Avatar n tn Hi Ed, I have not had this issue nor have I heard of anyone that has experienced a drop in Testosterone while on opiates. I too have read that your levels should return to normal in time. Did you ask your Physician why he thought it was necessary to order a supplement? Obviously there there are good reasons to maintain adequate Testosterone levels. Some of the things that Testosterone does do, besides maintain your libido or sex drive is to help maintain bone and muscle mass.
Avatar f tn I frequently work out, and I know testosterone is important for muscle development, so I was worried if it might begin decreasing my muscle mass. To summarize my question: could a varicocele affect testosterone to such an extent that it hinders physical development? (Muscle, face, etc.). I don't know if my varicocele is considered severe, all I can say is that the pain is consistent and slightly above mild. I'll appreciate any response. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Before I treated I was always able to maintain weight and build muscle mass. After treatment a little less so re the muscle mass but the blame here could be on advancing age and/or decreasing testosterone levels. The decreasing testosterone levels btw were a direct result of treatment. As to during treatment, people are going to react differently to these drugs. I lost close to 40 pounds very quickly during treatment and a significant percentage was muscle weight.
Avatar n tn Slightly more curvature up from base. Have had low testosterone for about 2 years. Is this temporary or should I see improvement with tetesterone treatment? If not, is there such thing as a practical implant. This discussion is related to Penis size reduction (both flaccid and erect) and urinary issues.
Avatar n tn Well as a body builder it is normal for your creatine to be high. Know that creatine is naturally occuring in the body and is not harmful except for muscle cramping that can become severe. I would say your issues are from taking HGH (human growth hormone) and testosterone. HGH is banned from sport anyway so you should not be taking it legally.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have low testosterone level (400 ng/dl) and I have been struggling to gain muscle. Recently I was down with viral fever and lost almost 10 kgs of "muscle". I literally lost most of the weight from the upper body. Now I am trying to gain weight. Someone adviced me to takeup meal supplement like mass gainer which will provide high carb and protein to bulk up in couple of months and after that I can stop using it. I go to gym everyday.
583580 tn?1231136383 Would you happen to know how many calories you're eating every day? It is true that it's difficult for women to build muscle mass and get bulky, and is just about impossible if you're consuming limited calories and are creating a defecit. Regular resistence or strength straining will build a little muscle, but it shouldnt be bulking you up. If you think you're bulking up that much, theres a good chance you're consuming too many calories.
Avatar m tn I am 18 years old and have been training for over 2 years and have always used either protein shakes or protein bars to supplement my lifts. I have been using the Muscle Milk to help me to gain muscle mass as I am going to be playing Rugby at the college level this fall. I am okay with switching to another product, but am just wondering why I experience this type of reaction after taking it.
Avatar m tn t aromatize to estrogen would shut down the bodies natural production of testosterone. Because that would essentially limit the need for an aromatase inhibitor.
Avatar m tn Recently I have discovered that I have very low testosterone, my free testosterone is only 35-40, a normal range for my age ( 38) should be about 500-1100.It is my understanding that with having such a low testosterone, I should have problem in sex, I also should have problem growing muscles. but none of them applies to me, I can have sexy, I masturbate and have sexy easily. and I also have sexual drive.
