Avatar n tn I'm only 24 years old yet for some reason I have very low energy. So much so that it affects my social life. (I'm writing this on a Saturday evening while receiving text messages from a girl that wants to hang out but here i sit.) I also tend to be afflicted with small anxiety attacks whenever I have to be somewhere. I tend to arrive places extremely early because I can't stand waiting at home to leave. The anxiety becomes unbearable.
Avatar f tn Hi, would anybody know if the energy pills you buy either in a store or on-line are worth anything? I know the theory of taking vitimin B and diet but I seem to need an extra boost. I've been thinking of buying a product called Xzing but do you think I'm throwing my money away? Thank you.
401095 tn?1351391770 A friend of mine was told to begin DHEA 25 mg daily for energy....I have always taken smaller doses off and for anti-aging benefits as the production of DHEA declines with age...I was thinking about adding it to my ton of pills on a daily basis...
401095 tn?1351391770 the omega 3s 3 x a day, testosterone injections (yep and I am a girl) makes me feel less cravings for pain meds and more energy..it is really helping and I am so glad...he is still doing steroid injections monthly under flouropscopy but really seems to be helping me..I am more energetic than i have been in a long time...plus toning up and my hair is getting thicker on the testosterone...i also take an anti-inflamatory, 5htp every night, cal/mag and a good multi..

Avatar f tn Where can I find the latest medical advice on using Testosterone gel 13 years after prostate removal? Removed because of cancer. Doctor keeps saying that Testosterone Therapy is not proper for patients who have had prostate cancer. I feel like my energy battery is just about depleated and seem to have all of the symptoms for need of T Therapy. Is there any good medical research that I can use to further discuss with Primary Care MD?
Avatar n tn In the past members noted above have discussed the potential for Testosterone Replacement Therapy for their low testosterone after doing tx. I just got test results back showing I am at the borderline of low normal, and low....about 300 ng/dl. After doing a LOT of reading about T ranges, and replacement, symptoms from low 'T', etc. I am beginning to think this may be a major part of my post-tx problems. The sx for low Testosterone are plentiful, and can be overwhelming.
Avatar m tn In my opinion, you will benefit greatly from a higher testosterone level. You should check the site thehiddendisease.com for some really helpful info. I especially like the patient interviews. Best of Luck.
Avatar m tn Hi Bob at your age your OK for DHEA its a hormone we have in our bodys, so all you will do is boost it up, with this take some Tribulus its a herb, now both of these run along the same lines, boost your testosterone, lift your libido and kick up your energy levels. DHEA your start low 25 mgs a day and work it up to what you think you need, I'm on 75 mgs a day, but please read up about it first it can have the odd funny side effect with the odd person, anything goes wrong you just come off it.
Avatar m tn I told him I still want to have kids someday, so he recommended I go on the testosterone therapy for 3 months and off 3 months and so on. I just finished my first 3 months and he warned me I would feel the effects coming off testosterone. Needless to say I have zero energy now, inability to focus, extremely tired and have a dull achy feel all around.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I have some early diabetes.... I just don't know how I can become impotent and a eunuch so young?
950277 tn?1247274551 I used to work with a guy that would get testosterone shots quite frequentely. I knew he was buying them on the streets. Don't worry, I am smarter then that. He just seemed to have such great energy. He accredited it to the drug. However, He gained loads of weight and looked like a ball!
Avatar m tn I have been struggling with extremely low energy and strange aches and pains all over my body for the past several months. I was first sent to get a sleep study and came back as having moderate sleep apnea. After a month of treatment, my symptoms still hadn't improved so I went back to my primary care doc and asked him to do a work up on other things that can cause energy issues, including low t. My vitamin d was also severely low (I work in an office). Anyway.
Avatar m tn The first thing to do is get the testosterone levels checked. Some common low testosterone symptoms are decrease in sex drive, ejaculation problems, shrinking testicle, fatigue, loss of body hair, difficulty gaining or maintaining muscle, depression, and loss of strength. A combination of any of these or all of these can happen. With therapy there will be improvement in all these parameters with time.
Avatar n tn ve been off it for two years, but my libido and energy level have not returned. Are these levels normal for a 28 year old male in good shape because I have no libido and I used to be extremely horny: Total Testosterone - 531 ng/DL (reference range 250 -1100) Free Testosterone - 60.8 pg/mL (reference range 35 -155) % Free Testosterone - 1.14 L (reference range 1.5 - 2.2) DHT - 42 ng/dL (reference range 25 -75) DHEA SULFATE - 273 (reference range 110 -510 mcg/dL) LH - 5.
484508 tn?1290010544 Depression, lack of energy, loss of sexual interest, may be symptoms of low testosterone. Your physician has wisely chosen to repeat the test to confirm the value. Usually morning testosterones are highest though the variation in the course of the day tends to diminish as men get older. Generally, though, I would suggest a morning value along with a prolactin (another hormone that rarely is related to low testosterone) as well as a check on your thyroid function.
Avatar f tn Well, your testosterone is actually within normal at 400's. The average range is 233-1009 ng/dL for a man in his 30's. You'd need to be below 300 to be considered low testosterone. Do you get erections? I don't know what your TSH levels are but if outside of normal and high, that can indicate hypothyroidism which can impact hormones. It can make you weak, low energy, almost depressed feeling and yes, low sex drive.
Avatar m tn alright I really want your guys input on this, my total testosterone is like 460 ng/dl, is this normal for a 20 year old, I've looked up tons of stuff about it, and my testosterone definitely looks low for my age, a normal 20 year old should be at least in the 600s, if not more.
650419 tn?1281359937 I have low testosterone from being on a pain pump implant for almost 7 years and I'm currently on Androgel but the side effect is that it keeps me up all night long like insomnia. I have been living this way for 4 months. I can't go to sleep until 4 or 5 am every morning. If I were to switch to the shots or the pellets would that rid me of the current side effects that I'm suffering from?
919239 tn?1269394658 I found that I still had no energy,no drive, depressed, just no zest for life. I finally had my testosterone checked (2 times) My total testosterone level was 195 & 203. Both low levels for a 54 yr. old male. I just started taking testosterone injections once per week in the last 2 weeks (2 injections-1 ml) I understand it usually takes up to 5 weeks for the full benefits. I was wondering if any one else found this method helpful?
Avatar n tn It sounds like you either have anxiety, depression, or a hormone problem. I have low testosterone. I am in my 30s, and I have always had low testosterone. Happily, I am being treated with testosterone injections, and it changed my life in a good way. You need to get a primary care physician to refer you to an endocrinologist. Be very honest about your psychological issues (anxiety and/or depression).
Avatar n tn The only negative side effect for me is that an excess of testosterone will raise the estrogen levels. If I take a small amount of arimidiex-no problems. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I agree with jayjay30. The testosterone "normal" range is so wide that you can have almost 10 times the amount and it is still considered normal. That just seems wrong. The average male will lose low levels of testosterone every yr. after about the age of 30-35. I can guarantee you if the loss of testosterone was not gradual, men would be rushing to their MD. In my case (55 yr. old-male) I started self injections of testosterone every week for my low "T" number.
Avatar m tn A recent study from France found men who have a taste for spicy foods tend to have higher testosterone levels than those who can’t handle the heat. Of the 114 male participants surveyed, researchers saw a clear correlation between frequent hot-sauce usage and higher T-levels. Study authors suggest the findings may be due in part to capsaicin—the fiery compound in chili pepper that previous studies have associated with increased testosterone levels.
Avatar m tn Within the last 4 to 5 months I have gained approximately 40 lbs and have no energy or motivation to do anything about it. I mentioned my lack of energy and motivation to the doctor during the annual physical. The doctor order labs including a testosterone level. The CBC results were all within normal reference levels, TSH was normal at 2.610 MIU/L, Lipid panel had high Cholesterol at 207 mg/dL, HD was low at 25 mg/dL, LDL – not able to calculate because high Trig of 468 mg/dL.
Avatar n tn I'm a 41 year old male with low-T (free T: 23.2; Total T: 141). My Endo prescribed Androderm 5mg patches daily, and it took about 4 days and I suddenly felt great: no depression, lots of energy & vigor, libido was up, I was outgoing and excited about life. After feeling great for 1 day, the effects disappeared and I am back to the same drained and low-energy shell of a human.
Avatar m tn It is more common for adrenal gland to take a beating with low thyroid, but maybe testosterone can be affected too - just a guess, I'm not saying that s what happened to you.
