Avatar m tn At my annual physical last Fall, my GP suggested that I get my Testosterone level checked and had a blood sample drawn. A week later he called and said that my total testosterone was 206 - in his words a little low and he mailed me a prescription for Testim. I called my prescription drug provider and they went partially ballistic saying that they wouldn't fill this prescription until they spoke to my GP directly and even if they approved my cost would still be more than $200 a month.
Avatar m tn t really know for sure if the hot flashes are caused by a drop in testosterone. (Your testosterone might be the same level it has always been.) If you want to test the notion that the low testosterone has caused the hot flashes, take the testosterone for a month, and see if the hot flashes go away.
Avatar m tn I have been experiencing low testosterone myself and I have read a great deal on the importance of testosterone in the male. My male dog is fixed. He is 3 years old and seems very healthy. But i've begun to worry about his testosterone levels and how it effects his health. Is there a natural way to support my dogs testosterone levels. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Hey! My blood tests show that my testosterone is too high, though I don't know what is causing this. My doc wanted to say it is pcos but my estrogen levels are ok. And I'm very thin. Although I am breaking out from sugar and too much processed food, so maybe it has something to do with insulin intolerance? No one in my family has this problem. So what should I do, which doctor to turn to?
Avatar m tn I'm a 20 year old guy, and I've been working out and eating right for about 10 months, and I've gotten some very satisfactory results. However, even though I've gained muscle mass and lost a considerable amount of body fat, there still seems to have been no change in my "man boobs". This is very frustrating and embarrassing. I have and continue to do everything I can to get rid of my chest fat but it won't go away.
Avatar m tn I'm just curious, if you're a female as you say on your profile, why are you taking testosterone? If you're posting on an anxiety site, especially, why are you taking testosterone? Just wondering. You probably have a virus, but there are no doctors on here. You say you missed school -- how old are you? At any rate, if you're concerned, you should see a doctor.
Avatar m tn You should also take balanced food so that all macro nutrients required are got from your daily food. Avoid all fast food and soda. There is FDA published daily requirements of macronutrients which you can Google and get.

Avatar n tn Hi, my son has low testosterone ( 5.6 nmol/L ; normal range listed as 8.4 and 28.8). He is not growing (currently 151cm) and a bit overweight, despite exercising ( competitive sport 18hours a week). We are seeing the doctor in 10 days, but I was hoping to get some details here regarding remedies, info. I am worried and googling this is not helping. He is getting bullied at school and it breaks my heart. He is 13 year 10 months old. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I recently had a random drug test (urine test) at work and it came back with extremely high T/E Ratios. It states that I have tested positive for steroids due to this elevated testosterone level and now being suspended. I have never taken any type of steroids or drug for that matter. I take Excedrin on a daily basis due to migraines and I do drink alcohol in the evenings, but that is all I do and have ever done.
Avatar m tn Having extra estrogens triggers your body to slow its production of testosterone. And the less testosterone you make, the more belly fat you accumulate and the more estrogens you have. Researchers have also targeted midriff weight as the strongest predictor of a condition called symptomatic androgen deficiency, or AD. Avatar n tn Your Total Testosterone seems to be fine. What about Free Testosterone? Also what I would like to mention is that you should have your E2(Estradiol) levels checked. Usually older guys that take Cialis and Viagra and it works in the beggining and then stops later on down the road is when E2 levels go out of range. You should get tested for this ideal range should be between 20-32 pg/dl I think. You should talk to your doctor about taking either DIM or Armidex.

Avatar f tn T replacement has risks of cancer associated with it, and you can try other options that include testosterone-enhancing food groups and supplements first. These include having a balanced diet with adequate proportions of carbohydrate, protein and fat (a nutritionist can help you out, or you can compile a balanced diet based on the principles of avoiding high-protein, high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet), adequate zinc, boron, and vitamins (shellfish, wheatgerm, cashewfruit, etc.
Avatar f tn You're describing something that sounds like "Gynecomastia." You might have excessive estrogen levels. It doesn't necessarily mean low testosterone, as testosterone can "aromatize" into estrogen. The first thing you should do is avoid junk food, especially the fried variety. The oil that it's cooked in is a mess, probably estrogenic.

Food intolerances, migraines, fatigue, heat/cold intolerance, poor sleep, inability to recover from exercise (was previously an athlete), etc. I am currently taking a small dose of thyroid medication which seems to be mildly helpful but not close to feeling good by any means... I know that may take time and the dosage needs to get figured out.
