919239 tn?1269394658 I found that I still had no energy,no drive, depressed, just no zest for life. I finally had my testosterone checked (2 times) My total testosterone level was 195 & 203. Both low levels for a 54 yr. old male. I just started taking testosterone injections once per week in the last 2 weeks (2 injections-1 ml) I understand it usually takes up to 5 weeks for the full benefits. I was wondering if any one else found this method helpful?
Avatar m tn Hi a hydrcele is fluid around a testicle. Most of the time a person does produce enough testosterone with one testicle and it is possible to function with only one. A few years ago I lost my left testicle after a vasectomy and having had several infections of the testicles. As a result the testosterone levels dropped far below the normal level. I now take monthly injections to suppliment the testosterone level.
Avatar m tn m not sure exactly what you are taking testosterone for, or if you you are doing this under the supervision of a physician, but I would highly suggest you do some research to see if it's right for you. Testosterone (and most hormone replacement therapies) have a ton of side effects. One of the more serious is an increased risk of blood clots. Take it from me, someone who has had blood clots that went into my lungs and almost killed me, this is not a pleasant experience.
Avatar m tn I have been experiencing low testosterone myself and I have read a great deal on the importance of testosterone in the male. My male dog is fixed. He is 3 years old and seems very healthy. But i've begun to worry about his testosterone levels and how it effects his health. Is there a natural way to support my dogs testosterone levels. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn ve also read that taking testosterone has many great benefits (Testosterone supplementation trims visceral fat, builds skeletal muscle, improves muscle strength, and promotes overall sexual function). Are there any negative side-effects? Thank you for your help!
3249922 tn?1347023649 I am a 39 y/o male with an onset of high b.p. and low testosterone which came on around the same time. Could there be a correlation between the two and could hormone therapy help? I also wanted to know if I was to go on synthetic testosterone does that affect my ability to have kids in the future? Thank you...
Avatar m tn Will testosterone increase penis size? Has Extenze had any benefits on penis size? Does Nitric oxide increase penis and will it remain permanent?
Avatar f tn I've been taking L'Arginine and L'Orthinine to enhance muscles growth after working out in the gym. I'm also taking 1mg of Propecia due to a hair loss problem. Are there any side effects taking both at the same time? Is L'Arginine hindering the benefits of Propecia (like make me loose hair again)? This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/928439'>Taking Viagra and L-Arginine</a>.
Avatar m tn I've had a friend with benefits for a few months now, and I noticed that I'll get an erection during oral and vaginal intercourse, but the minute I transition between the two, or different positions, I lose my erection. I get it back after brief penetration. I figured at 35, I'm losing testosterone, and I'm mostly sitting because I work from home. I also admit that my diet needs work. I'm not sure how to identify this. What are your thoughts?
Avatar m tn I am an 18 year old TransMale (FtM; Female to Male) and been on testosterone for about 2 years now. Recently I've been almost constantly thinking about sex and masturbation. Even the female genitalia I once hated has started to serve some purpose to my recent activites. I keep looking at porn or manga to maybe just get the tension out by reading; which it doesn't really help. Thoughts of just taking an extra long "shower" or getting a FWB keep popping up.
Avatar m tn Your testosterone is apparently in the normal range. How do you know that this is low for your age? Also, losing weight only benefits can bring to you if you have it in excess. So, you mean here that you have 100 pounds more than normal for your age and height? That sounds to be a lot, especially combined with a sedentary job. Regardless of testosterone considerations, losing weight is a no-brainer in your case.
Avatar m tn The things you listed are good to test also free testosterone, estradiol, shbg, and prolactin. Free testosterone is more important than Therapy will have an effect on your symptoms, however it is permanent and expensive. From what I have heard free testosterone is more important as it is the one available for use by your body. I would think before going onto therapy you should retest at least three times at that low level. What time of the day did you take your test? Are you overweight?
Avatar f tn This was around Aug. 1st. Well, not only have I not felt ANY benefits of it, I have actually felt worse than I have felt in months. Extreme fatigue, weight gain with no change in eating habits, water retention, depressed, just feeling like overall crap. I get blood work because I'm concerned and turns out I have extremely too much testosterone in my body, like male levels. She mentioned the number 500 something but I'm not sure what that means. This was via a phone call.
1942878 tn?1324056800 ve been to a urologist before for a different reason (8+years ago) and he indicated that my testosterone was a little low at that time, now I'm older and I assume it's worse. I exercise pretty regularly and consider myself pretty fit. I do this to naturally increase testosterone, plus general health reasons. So I think I'm doing what I can naturally. Has anyone had low testosterone and had similar symptoms?
Avatar f tn when men get older they make less testosterone and in our industrial world men loose it quicker progesterone is the building blocks for testosterone so if he does not have the building material how would he build the finished item. its safe and very good for yourself aswell, it has so many benefits for women its mad they dont prescribe it from doctors. well its not mad its economics they cant make any money from it as its not a drug. take a look at this website http://www.progesterone.co.
Avatar f tn I had my hysterectomy/oophrectomy when I was 26 (1986). Your body still produces hormones (both estrogen and testosterone) from other glands. I am a vegetarian and have always eaten soy products. One of the benefits of soy is that it breaks down to a type of estrogen substitute. I have never taken estrogen replacement and my levels have always been great. Try a few soy products (ice cream, appetizers, supplements) and see if you feel better. Also, have you MD test your glucose levels.
Avatar n tn It is an unneeded surgery, and has no benefits as long as good hygene is practiced. The risks of circumcision is much higher then the so called benefits. Please understand that I'm not trying to judge you,or make you feel guilty? The above mentioned information is just my own personal feeling. Hope fully this link will provide you with information: http://www.mic.ki.se/diseases/C12.

Avatar f tn ve already applied for medicaid cash assistance and food card but my sister was telling me i should do some research because given my situation i should qualify for more benefits like free diapers and what not.
Avatar m tn I recently went to the doctor (new doctor) to talk about my ordeal and requested my testosterone levels be measured. My testosterone levels were 596 ng/dl and she said this was normal. Ultimately she said I was bi-polar manic depressive and put me on Prozac and Symbyax. I was reading online that 596 ng/dl was normal for a 55 year old man. Before I try the anti-depressants I wanna make sure this isn't a low testosterone thing.
Avatar m tn Hi, Dutasteride or Avodart prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. DHT is involved in the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia. This medicine helps improve urinary flow and may also reduce your need for prostate surgery later on. However, it is recommended that you take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor.
Avatar f tn fatigue, unexplained weight gain, headaches, memory/concentration difficulty, dry eyes, moodiness/irritability, shorter periods, increased PMS. She tested my hormones and my testosterone was low (5 in a range of 8-48), so she recommended that I see an endocrinologist. This is where the fun begins. The endo indicated that low testosterone in women is a good thing and isn’t the source of my problems. She suspected PCOS and ordered her own battery of tests.
Avatar m tn And once your libido starts to drop it is going to be gone and you really need that testosterone for other aspects of your life. You need that energy to do all the things that you need to do to care for yourself and your wife. My husbands testosterone started dropping and he had no energy to even work without a nap during the day. SO a good sex drive is a good thing even if it is a bit bothersome on other areas of your life.
Avatar m tn A recent study from France found men who have a taste for spicy foods tend to have higher testosterone levels than those who can’t handle the heat. Of the 114 male participants surveyed, researchers saw a clear correlation between frequent hot-sauce usage and higher T-levels. Study authors suggest the findings may be due in part to capsaicin—the fiery compound in chili pepper that previous studies have associated with increased testosterone levels.
