Avatar f tn when men get older they make less testosterone and in our industrial world men loose it quicker progesterone is the building blocks for testosterone so if he does not have the building material how would he build the finished item. its safe and very good for yourself aswell, it has so many benefits for women its mad they dont prescribe it from doctors. well its not mad its economics they cant make any money from it as its not a drug. take a look at this website http://www.progesterone.co.
Avatar f tn You had no risk and were conclusively negative before you tested. Oral and masturbation are no risk since the virus is effectively dead in air and also in saliva. Condom is zero risk for obvious reasons. It is abnormal to test repeatedly for a disease that you have negative results for. Now that you know that all of the tests were pointless, it will be a phobia if you continue testing or worrying about HIV.
Avatar m tn With all the results you have, I hate to ask, but could you just post your TSH Free T3 and Free T4 and include the reference ranges provided for each? Ranges vary fron lab to lab, that is why they are needed to see how you are with your thyroid, as far as Testosterone is concerned, it normally does not affect the thyroid levels.
135456 tn?1301437624 Low Testosterone and Medications for Chronic Pain Chronic pain medications and the increased risk of low testosterone If you're a man using prescription opioids to treat chronic pain, you may be at a higher risk for having low testosterone. The use of certain pain medications, such as opioids, may decrease the production of testosterone. A study published in the Journal of Pain showed that up to 74% of men using opioids for treatment of chronic pain have low testosterone.
Avatar m tn I have been battling with low testosterone for a few years and trying to address it through natural means. Lost 20 lbs body fat (Now 5'08" 156 lbs 13 % BF), added heavy weight lifting in 3x weekly, eat a low carb high vegetable intake diet with more than adequate fat content, etc. Sadly doesnt seem to be helping.
Avatar n tn About 11 months ago I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and low thyroid, so I am taking red rice yeast and .088 mg of Synthroid, then about 9 months ago I was diagnosed with low testosterone and was prescribed adrogel, which after reading the small print I decided not to use it. Six months ago I began getting depressed, re-evaluating life, ( 6 months from turning 50) and my self esteem began to drop and I have been in a downward spiral ever since.
Avatar f tn Hi Paxiled... I didn't get that the O.P. is already taking the B-12 and testosterone; I took it that he was just asking if he "did" take them, would they help him lose weight... I hope I understood correctly because I'd hate to see anyone headed for trouble. 46 isn't so old that one can't bounce back from injuries and be in pretty good shape again - I did, not only in my upper 40's but again at 60...
Avatar m tn Has anyone else had a rise in BP with testosterone? Im 36 and in decent shape, BMI is 33 and am taking BP meds. Looking for feedback or personal experiences. Thank you.
Avatar m tn m not sure exactly what you are taking testosterone for, or if you you are doing this under the supervision of a physician, but I would highly suggest you do some research to see if it's right for you. Testosterone (and most hormone replacement therapies) have a ton of side effects. One of the more serious is an increased risk of blood clots. Take it from me, someone who has had blood clots that went into my lungs and almost killed me, this is not a pleasant experience.
Avatar m tn Hi and welcome, i have head that they can increase it but at your age you should have a PSA test done before, as if you are at risk for prostate cancer, adding more testosterone, it can increase the risk.
Avatar m tn I am 26.5yrs old and I used steroids when I was 19 and a half till I was 22. I have had a bit testicular atrophy and I have noticed a little bit of lack of firmness and want of sex. Also energy levels have been low. My bro n law is 32 and has the same issues without the steroid use. He was prescribed to use .4cc's of testosterone cypionate once a week. I have followed in his foot steps and went to a urologist and got my testosterone checked. He said next appt.
Avatar f tn Suboxone not only effects sex drive it effects Testosterone levels. There is a lot of misunderstanding of this out there. Viagra and Cialis without sex drive equals an erection that allows for sex but no satisfaction to the male if there is no drive. Low testosterone causes low sex drive and erectile dysfunction.
Avatar n tn Testosterone comes from your testes as well as from the adrenal glands so they should check out the adrenals as well. Both estrogen and testosterone are redundant systems. Estrogen and testosterone are very related (you know how when a baby is formed, the same parts go to form the ovaries and testes, so it just a matter of how much of each hormone which gives us characteristics).
Avatar n tn The doctor checked my testosterone level due to and adverse affect of opiates, and I didnot have any. He put me on supplemental testosterone, but I have read it would come back naturally and taking supplements will stop the natural production of my testosterone. Anyone had this issue.
Avatar n tn The size is determined by the testosterone receptors which don’t change in number after puberty and thus taking any testosterone boosters is not going to affect the size of the penis. I sincerely hope I am able to address your query & hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn When I first started to visit this forum I was told of how bad statins are, and I was taking one. After doing some of my own research, I found it to be true and stopped taking mine. I recently switched to a new internist who did her residency under who I thought was the best doctor ever at the best hospital in our city. I told her I no longer took the statin and why, and to my surprise you replied "don't take the statin!" So, I think she was confimimg that all this is true.
Avatar m tn Does extra testosterone increae the penis size for men between the ages of 15 and 17 years old?
Avatar m tn if my levels are good, should my libido be as well? And should I start worrying about something else instead.. If I had learned that there was only 0,000001% chance for me to permanently loose my libido when taking this, I would of course NEVER have touched it! Is this a renown great pharmaseutical scam that everyone should know about?..
Avatar n tn t know for sure, however, taking HCG makes your penis a little bigger if you are a teen and taking exogenous testosterone suppresses HCG. It might, at that stage in life, suppress penis growth (anyone know for sure)? No one in the world seems to know what testosterone does psychologically but believes people should wait until adulthood. Testosterone pills are the only versions of testosterone that are known to cause blood filled cysts on the liver and even cancer.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and my tests showed a tsh 7.32 my t4 was 1.1 free t3 7.2. The test also showed that my testosterone was very low and my pituitary was very high. My doctor referred me to an endo but they can't get me in for a couple of months, so the Dr. did more tests. I just got those results and am very confused. The testosterone is good, pituitary good and my Tsh is .64, T4=.8 and freet3=3.4. I still feel cruddy. These test were less than 2 weeks apart.
Avatar n tn This is complicated. The only way unless your doctor is a sadist you ended up on so many meds is that you were suffering a lot and nothing was working. Sometimes this process, called augmentation, is done correctly and sometimes it's not. The right way to do it is when you take a med and it works but doesn't work well enough, so you add another to it until you feel the way you're seeking to feel.
919239 tn?1269394658 im in the same boat battled for years and years with anxiety and depression i finally found out last year my testosterone levels are at that of a 70 yr old im 32 not good...
Avatar m tn Here is what I have, not that I know what any of this means! Endocrinologist just said you have Hoshimoto's and will need to have blood drawn every 6 weeks and take vitamin D liquid and stay off caffeine! He explained nothing and certainly does not understand I AM TOTALLY EXHAUSTED 24x7! I may sleep 17 hours some days! Also to note, I have always had optimal blood pressure, but in past few years it has skyrocketed to over 219/105 and sometimes higher out of nowhere.
640719 tn?1277140030 I was just wondering if anyone has had or heard of someone using the injectable under the skin Testosterone pellets? Patches are irritating to my husband and the cream stinks did I say stinks?! Wee U for sure! Can't even wash the smell out of his clothes. I'm wondering if there are any more risks going the pellet route? Doc, said they last 4-6 months. I've read infection but I think that is a very low risk.
Avatar f tn Alternatively, you could have a problem with your adrenal glands, and they could be over producing testosterone. I am going to assume that if your MRI showed anything abnormal, they would have called you, but I would also encourage you to call them for results! Its important to know all the information! Depending upon what your risk for blood clots is, you might be able to use depo-Provera to suppress the ovaries and the testosterone.
Avatar n tn Has anyone else experienced a low testosterone level after this tumor removal and if so what course of action did you have to take? I am 46 now and I understand testosterone levels do begin to drop a bi tin males once reaching the age of 40.
