Avatar f tn Try starting counseling as well for the depression and Gynecomastia. The gynecomastia leads to body disturbances for males especially at a young age. This can be causing a big part of the depression. Also talk to the health care provider about weight and see if this could have something to do about the low testosterone levels.

Avatar m tn Hi, To be sure, you need to consult an Endocrinologist and get tested. If you are generally healthy and the gynecomastia is not all that pronounced, you need not have to worry. If you need to test, a blood test for total testosterone and estrogen will generally indicate if you have any problem. You may also Google for ' klinefelter's syndrome ' and check if you have those symptoms. How did you know that you had hormone imbalance during puberty?
Avatar m tn t answer a lot of your questions, being female and all, but I can tell you that my brother has alot of the same issues. He is overweight and smokes, but he also had his hormones tested and his testosterone levels were off-the-chart LOW. This has led to even more weight-gain for him and very low libido. He was told there was nothing they could do about his low testosterone, but I have heard that they can give you testosterone injections.

Avatar m tn If your hormonal changes are not corrected, you may have an increased risk to develop testis cancer (for which you may want to have regular visits with your doctor), more than the possibility that there is already testicular cancer responsible for the gynecomastia and other changes. Discuss things with your doctor.

Avatar m tn What you have is probably due to a benign condition called Gynecomastia, which is very common in teenagers and is caused by an imbalance of the hormones estrogen and testosterone, which promotes tissue growth or a painful lump under the nipple area in one or both breasts. Avatar f tn The fact you seemed to easily put on muscle indicates your testosterone is there. There is no normal penis size, so that's a non-issue. The question there is, does it work, not how big it is. We come in all sizes and shapes and maybe this is just yours. But if you're truly concerned, see your doctor and get a blood test for sexual hormones.
Avatar m tn I have gone through a whole slew of tests from ekg, basic blood work, stress test, hormone test and ultrasound of breasts and armpits. Nothing found except bad cholesterol a little high and testosterone in low to mid range, but within range. I really have become a hypochondriac and have this cancer phobia. I am trying to change my life and become healthier, but this fear is so hard to overcome. I quit smoking (after eight years) and changed my diet.
