What you have read is correct. You could discuss this finding with your doctor and get him to prescribe it for you. Since the treatment is long-term it is better to go with onr which is tolerated better by the body.

Ive had 2 biopsy not cancer. Dr thinking fungus . I was on antibiotics and am currently taking Terbinafine 250mg and Ketoconazole 200mg pill and cream and wash . I recently had a tooth pulled and gum filled with puss. maybe that was hindering my healing. so frustrated and worried.
Oral medication such as terbinfine (brand names are Lamisil and Terbinex) are supposed to be effective. These are pills you take and not a cream like you've been using. I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.

It has been diagnosed by 2 doctors as such. I have tried pills-- for ten days and once a week and a few different creams as well as home remedies which tending to burn like hell. Any suggestions?

so they prescribed me a 10 day supply of terbinafine and doxycycline. that dried it up but did not get any better and the pic I provided is on the 10th day of them pills. my one neighbor is a nurse and she said it looked like infatigo but she said the last pills I got should of got rid of it. Now the family doctors are out of ideas so they think I should see a specialist.since I live in PA and my neighbor the nurse said it could take months to get in and see them.
Immediately I started applying Lamisil (terbinafine) every morning till today. All the redness and everything else is gone, but if I look at the skin from the side, I can still see the "circles" (in slightly different skin tone) where the fungi was located... does it mean that I'll have to keep on applying the cream for longer till I don't see those circles?
Topical Terbinafine cream did not help doctor is treating with Ketoconazole 2% shampoo and topical Clindamycin 1%. I may be noticing a 10% increase in my normal gray follicles at two weeks treatment. I would love to send a picture.

My husband and I going through the exact same thing. I've had about 20ish spots all over my body, that seems to fade but not entirely go away (For a month and a week, going on two weeks) Although I started Oral Meds late, I'm on day 6 of Terbinafine. I've been taking it day by day. Who would have thought Ringworm would suck so bad :(. We ended up getting it from 2 rescue kittens. They seem to kind of fade, but I can still see them.
He referred to a Dermatologist. Administred Terbinafine-500mg (10days) and Fexofenadine-120mg (7 days) continued applying Miconazole but had no relief. She further advised me to take Levofloaxacin 750mg for 5 days together with appky Terbinafine Cream. But still no relief. Infection resurface with spreading to more areas.
face, arms, back. My dermatologist gave me Lamisil cream with oral terbinafine during 2 weeks. My rash has almost disappeared. It came back 1 month after taking terbinafine. I have done a mycological examination 1 month after taking terbinafine but it was negative. Also, oral griseofulvin during 3 weeks didn't work. My rash was spreading all over my body (70%). The physicians sayed it was eczema. The gave me diprosone and oral cortisone.
So, frustrated and distressed, back I went to the dermatologist. This time, she gave me an oral antifungal called terbinafine and also gave me desonate gel, another corticosteroid. She said if it is fungal, the terbinafine should clear it up right away since it's a rather small rash. She also said that if it's contact dermatitis, the desonate gel would clear it up. So, I went on with her directions and took the terbinafine for 10 days and used the desonate for 14 days.

You may have a yeast infection but it may be resistant strain to the medicines they have in the stores. See if they have one without Azole at the end. If they have a vaginal Terbinafine that would work (but if it is only for athletes foot don't use it). Otherwise you will have to get a culture done from the doctor to see what it is.
