He prescribed terbinafine for 30 days. Fluconazole did help it just didnt get rid of it completely. I will go to another Doctor to get a second opinion on the matter. Is it normal to have oral thrush for this long? Right now I am pretty worried about HIV. As I have read several articles that state that Thrush is more common with people with diabetes, Cancer or HIV among others.
i dont know if she has thrush if she did i probably would ? she does seem to have yeast infections often or high levels of yeast. she gets sores on her arms and back that she claims is from yeast. i am sure its not crabs! doesnt look like any herpes that ive seen photos of . what other info would help?
I have been getting oral thrush off and on for maybe 10/15 years. I was recently diagnosed with c-diff. Is there a possibility that these two things are associated with each other ? The c-diff has already progressed to colitis. I recently started on probiotics, have been tested for HIV since thrush is associated with it.It just seems like my gastrointestinal system is out of whack.. how to I get it back to normal and healthy ? I also use a hairdryer, do not share towels with anyone, and have used Lamisil (Terbinafine) for 2 weeks as of today. I change my underwear once per day though, but I avoid sweating or walking much during the day as much as possible. And apply talcum powder on my groin every 2-3 hs during the day. That's all I've been doing and as I wrote, the skin at first sight looks back to normal, BUT if I see it from an angle, I can still see the circles where the jock itch used to be........
Oral thrush is not normal. So, have you been treated for the oral thrush? Have you ever been tested for what species you have? Are you sure it is thrush. It is solid white that bleeds when you scrape it off. I thought I had thrush and it was just a staph (which is also white). There are some strains that are very resistant to anti-fungal medication. Have been tested for HIV? Are you on any immunosuppressant drugs? Have you had your immunoglublulin level, CD4 or CD8 level done?
I have had this weird semi-whitish spot on the head of my penis for weeks now. So I did some research and I think it might be a penis ringworm. Its not an STD because I'm a virgin. I dont' play sports but I exercise in the gym 3 days a week. And at one time I had to pee all the time but it stopped about 2 and a half weeks ago. So I tried lotirmin ultra with 1% butenafine hydrochloride for a week and a half but I didn't notice any change. So now I have limasil with 1% Terbinafine.

i had red, itchy, swell penis forehead last year & i gone to doctor and he tested me for HIV 1&2 antibodies, VDRL, HERPES simplex virus 1&2 IGG-IGM & TSH and all test came normal (negative). Then my doc told me that it is candidal balanoposthitis & he gave me fusidic acid cream with terbinafine cream and some tablets for infection & infection cured 70% but itching never gone.
3 years ago I got thrush, I did the treatments and all the symptoms stopped, except for the heavy discharge. Personally I never had heavy discharge until after the bout of thrush. I did swabs that confirmed I no longer had thrush plus Pap smears and std/Sti tests everything says I'm all normal. But ever since that thrush I've had constant heavy thrush like discharge it must be linked. I'm desperate to find help has anyone experienced this?

Ive had this for about 3 months , now there are some on other leg and arms.Ive had 2 biopsy not cancer. Dr thinking fungus . I was on antibiotics and am currently taking Terbinafine 250mg and Ketoconazole 200mg pill and cream and wash . I recently had a tooth pulled and gum filled with puss. maybe that was hindering my healing. so frustrated and worried.
So, do you still have the thrush in the mouth? If so you may try oral terbinafine. But it may just be that you have been on antibiotics for so long that it has disrupted your normal gut flora and it might be better to take probiotics if you are not on them. I would get the type that has 10 billion bacteria of each type such as lactobacillus and bifidobacteria and others and see if that helps. It may take a while for the normal flora to change back.
I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
I had this white scaling on the penis glans going on for almost 3 weeks and not improving. I went to see a general practitioner and he said it is balanatis. He prescribed 2mg of Tinizadole which reading about I found it is NOT used for fungus problems. Do not know if I should go ahead and take it. He did nor presctibe anything else and said one dos will likely suffice...
my doctor perscribed me to terbinafine orals at 250mg once a day for 2 weeks. I have read that this does not work on versicolor is this true?
Both of these meds need to be taken for 3 months. The previous Rx was taken only once a month for 3 months. Any ideas what medicine this would have been?
Is there an over-th-counter medication for ringworm ? I can't get to my dermitologist before New Years and i would like to at least try to get rid on this ringworm.
FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.
All my symptoms point to Black Piedra and I was in Chennai India for 10 days but that was 2 years ago. No fungal treatment over the last 3 months is working. My head has been shaved for 2 months but the black crust keeps growing out covering the hair from inside the follicle. When my hair was longer it felt like grains of sand but nothing would ever fall out.
I\m hoping the Terbinafine makes these completely disappear. Since this is a first ringworm experience for me, I have no Idea what they look like when they are in the process of healing :(. I almost feel depressed sometimes when I look at my skin, because I wonder if I will ever be back to normal.
I used the cream Lamisil on my face before reading the instructions. Lamisil has the ingredient Terbinafine hydrochloride which I thought I needed for a condition I have but before I read the warning I used it. It states not to use on or near the mouth. After use I saw my lips get very white and after a couple of days it seemed like the top thin layer of skin came off: painless. I know its my fault for not reading the box but now my lips get very dry. They turn to an off-white color.
