terbinafine for ringworm

Is there an over-th-counter medication for ringworm ? I can't get to my dermitologist before New Years and i would like to at least try to get rid on this ringworm.

I\m hoping the Terbinafine makes these completely disappear. Since this is a first ringworm experience for me, I have no Idea what they look like when they are in the process of healing :(. I almost feel depressed sometimes when I look at my skin, because I wonder if I will ever be back to normal.

Dear Doctor Thanks for the time and effort you gave ! ! It's Tinea Barbae for sure ; as I've been taking Terbinafine 250 mg po for past 2 wks and the symptoms have dropped by at least 50 % ! ! Topical antifungals have had no effect.

My son has redmarks that look like ringworm but we put ringworm meds on the areas hasnt gone away, the middle of the circle is whie and stays white it also has little bumps inside the circle, any idea what this could be

We have been to many Drs about it, they all say not ringworm, but when I have them culture it. it always is positive for it. She has spread it to all of us in the family and always gets them. I believe it is harboring in her hair, but the Drs say its really dry scalp and since she hasnt lost pacths in her hair it wasnt it. She has the dry round patches in her hair but no hair loss and yet agiain when they cultured it before it was postive for ringworm. What should a mother do?

I even took him to the doctor to look at it and he said that it can take 4 to 6 weeks to go away. I found the best antifungal cream for treating ringworm is Lamisil (Terbinafine). You have to apply it three times daily.

I have tried topical anti-fungal ointments (Lamisil), as well as Miconazole spray a week prior, and did the full 4 week treatment as well as the full 2 week treatment orally for ringworm, and I am guessing by the looks of the rash on my arm being bigger now than it was before treatment that it was most likely not ringworm.

And I dont see the answer, It is perfectly round about 8 inches in diameter, but, only a 1/4 inch ring, the center is empty xcept for the scaley patches in it, Do you have any idea what it is?, The other Dr. sent me some pics and that was not it, she said it might be, "Tinea Versicolor", that is not it....Do you have any other ideas? thanks so much....

In January of this year, I was prescribed Griseofulvin for ringworm after two discolored circular patches were found on the side of my face. I took it for two months straight, but the infection expanded to a large bumpy lesion covered in pimples that enveloped the entire apple of my cheek. Heck yes it can be ringworm. Ringworm can cause folliculitis and present like this, especially early stages of it, or certain strains. Try applying an OTC anti-fungal ointment on the boils (clotrimazole `% twice daily or terbinafine once daily). If it's ringworm, you will see marked improvement after 1-2 days. You should keep applying the cream for the full treatment period though to make sure all the spores are gone. Run all clothes and bedlinens through a HOT dryer.

I have had this weird semi-whitish spot on the head of my penis for weeks now. So I did some research and I think it might be a penis ringworm. Its not an STD because I'm a virgin. I dont' play sports but I exercise in the gym 3 days a week. And at one time I had to pee all the time but it stopped about 2 and a half weeks ago. So I tried lotirmin ultra with 1% butenafine hydrochloride for a week and a half but I didn't notice any change. So now I have limasil with 1% Terbinafine.
