Terbinafine candida

Common Questions and Answers about Terbinafine candida

lamisil

Avatar n tn No nothing else, I think that's your issue right there. She should get treated for thrush/Candida infection (the most common type of yeast infection). If gone untreated or treated poorly, then it can spread to the rest of the body, which might explain her sores..although I'm not sure that it can cause sores. Not a lot of research has been done for Candida infections. Either way, it's difficult to spread to males because the male reproductive organs are enclosed.
Avatar m tn Earlier this year i would feel tired and sleepy for no reason and now it comes and goes i work out and try and push myself. Im starting to think i have candida. I took antibiotics alot whern i was younger and once i took a cycle of them and apparently it didnt take and i was given more for the same thing and now im thinking even tho this happend alot of years ago maybe 6 years ago thats when the really werid and painful different stomach aches came about.
Avatar m tn face, arms, back. My dermatologist gave me Lamisil cream with oral terbinafine during 2 weeks. My rash has almost disappeared. It came back 1 month after taking terbinafine. I have done a mycological examination 1 month after taking terbinafine but it was negative. Also, oral griseofulvin during 3 weeks didn't work. My rash was spreading all over my body (70%). The physicians sayed it was eczema. The gave me diprosone and oral cortisone.
19413498 tn?1477669741 I have treated it with Ketaconazole creme, hydrocortisone creme, Fluconazole tablets, and now terbinafine HCL tablets and nothing has worked... I have read types of yeast infections (candida Glabrata) can be resistant to many of these drugs..The rash does not bother me a ton, I can live with it, its the ability to potentially pass it on that scares me and is causing me bad anxiety. My question is: after all these treatments, what kind of doctor can i see?
Avatar f tn Or, you can try to get tested for the specific type of Candida. There are different types such as Candida albicans, Candida dubliensis, Candida tropicalis etc. Candida dubliensis is the most resistant one. I would see your doctor and ask for a different type of treatment for it. The Lamisil usually works. As for the Staph it depends on what kind of staph whether it is important or not. So you need to find out which kind. Is it Staph epidermidis or Staph aureus. Ask them about that too.
Avatar n tn Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day. and do not share other people’s towels.Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment. In case the symptoms persist then it is best to have it evaluated from a dermatologist. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing and if you have any additional queries.
Avatar f tn FYI the strains that are resistant to the usual antibiotics for yeast are Candida glabrata, Candida prapsilosis, Candida tropicalis, and Candida krusei. Sometimes these can be resistant to the stronger anti-fungals as well. So are you bedridden for so long due to chronic fatigue or pain or both. What is going on there?
Avatar m tn Many orazl antifungals are used like Griseofulvin, Terbinafine and Itraconazole but they have many side effects and should be used under a dermatologist’s guidance. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Ive recently been treated for a yeast infection and im worrieed i spread the candida to between the buttocks from wiping. that being said, i just finished a 10 day course of nizoral anti fungal pill so it should have killed any yeast but the discolouration is still there. My doctor told me to put hydrozole on it- but it seemed to make it redder as is was constantly moist. Am i allowed to upload a photo so someone can give me an idea of what it is and how to make it go away?
Avatar n tn But for that pls use some antifungal like nystatin, miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral. If the symptoms persist then STD’s have to be ruled out.It can be done by swab cultures and urine culutures. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep us posted if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn I have also changed lotions, laundry detergent, bed cloths and type. I saw an herbalist who said I had a Candida infection on my skins. I had a Dr prescribe an antifungal and also tried the herbals from the herbalist which did not help. I can't sleep at night and find myself taking a tone of showers to temporarily relieve the itching. Please help if you can... I have a tone of photos if more will help.
Avatar f tn Dear janebrisson421, Candida can manifest without itching. You may try 'fluconazole' or 'terbinafine'. They are effective against Candida infection. Your gynaecologist can help you prescribing these drugs to you. Best Regards Dr.
Avatar n tn The main findings were that for reduced fungus, terbinafine was found to be significantly better than itraconazole and griseofulvin, and terbinafine was better tolerated than itraconazole. ref:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onychomycosis What you have read is correct. You could discuss this finding with your doctor and get him to prescribe it for you. Since the treatment is long-term it is better to go with onr which is tolerated better by the body.
Avatar f tn miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Undecylenic acid (a castor oil derivative) is a known fungicide and Whitfield’s ointment can also be used for fungal skin infections such as athlete's foot. The other symptoms that you had sound more like panic attack. It does not look like any sore throat infection.
Avatar m tn During the therapy, it started being a bit better, but after 7 days it started itching and turned back as before. I also used terbinafine cream at the same time, (for 3red time). I also used ketoconazole shampoo several times. Please if someone have advice what to do bcs my doctor don't know what do do as well.

Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Ive had 2 biopsy not cancer. Dr thinking fungus . I was on antibiotics and am currently taking Terbinafine 250mg and Ketoconazole 200mg pill and cream and wash . I recently had a tooth pulled and gum filled with puss. maybe that was hindering my healing. so frustrated and worried.
Avatar f tn I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
Avatar f tn FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.
Avatar m tn Beta Blockers did not help and after quite alot of treatment with fluconazole and repeated blood culture showing a high level of candida, I was finally diagnosed two months ago with systemic candida rather then just the localised esphoghael candida. Now I am on Voriconazole but am still having severe nocturnal attacks. They are very disturbing. Basically it just feels as if every single muscle in my body convulses just as I fall asleep.

Avatar m tn Immediately I started applying Lamisil (terbinafine) every morning till today. All the redness and everything else is gone, but if I look at the skin from the side, I can still see the "circles" (in slightly different skin tone) where the fungi was located... does it mean that I'll have to keep on applying the cream for longer till I don't see those circles?
1652119 tn?1301725969 and apparently it is darker on the perimeter.I am giving it a therapeutic trial diagnosis of taking Terbinafine Tablets(250 mg) for 4 weeks. I am just into therapy having finished 3 days (3 tabs of 250 mg).......no visible difference so far.... Any comments / suggestions ?
Avatar m tn Topical Terbinafine cream did not help doctor is treating with Ketoconazole 2% shampoo and topical Clindamycin 1%. I may be noticing a 10% increase in my normal gray follicles at two weeks treatment. I would love to send a picture.
