Tenovovir, if it would be given orally, would have no effect on HBV.
TEnofovir if given intravenously or sc would still have almost no effect on HBV in the liver. the substance has a high negative charge and cannot easlily penetrate cell membranes.

My doctor let me have Viread. I checked online at pharmacy checker. Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablet and Viread Tablet, are they the same in treatment wise? I went to CVS store, it cost 1000 USD to 30/300mg for Viread Tablet. is it too expensive? The staff there told me generic tablet is not available. But why I see it online as I said earlier?
What happens if I take brand and then switch to generic like a year later? Will the generic medicine do the same?

After about 68 hours(2013.9.11,12am), I take hiv block drugs from doctor, these drugs are Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablets , Aluvia (Lopinavir and Ritonavir Tablets) and Lamivudine Tablets. I have take these drugs for 28 days (until 2013.10.8),at 2013.10.9(1 day after taking drugs) , I have take a HIV Duo or Combo (4th generation) test and the result is negative .

com, I see that branded Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (Viread) costs $18.76 per pill for 300mg or about $570 per month if taking 30 pills. Entecavir (Baraclude), on the other hand, is even more expensive at $21.63 per pill (for 1mg) or $650 per month. Does Part D cover most of the cost for the two?
Or are you better off getting the generic for Tenofovir (is this Tenvir?), which seems to be significantly cheaper at $3.18 per pill (for 300mg) or $95 per month.
