blood-sugar

Avatar f tn Hi pcds, Shall I go ahead and assume you meant your starting viral load was 1, 700,000 and not "1,7000,000"? At any rate, the fast and oh-so-easy way to calculate a viral load log drop is to knock off the last zeros from the end of the number, for example: 1,700,000 (assuming that's the number you meant) 170,000 = one log drop 17,000 = two log drop 1700 = three log drop You can also use an online calculator's ‘LOG’ function. Input viral load, press LOG and voila.
577285 tn?1706032371 Blood Sugar Tracker for us diabetic's out there please. It would be an invaluable tool for us to track this VITAL READING. Not only could it be based on those little log books that we all gotta carry around getting all dog eared and full of blood stains as well as getting more expensive to buy , but we could easily make a copy and bring the professional looking and easy to read Chart / Tracker to our Doctors.
Avatar n tn I went in there and searched for blood sugar readings and it came up eventually. Sorry my link didnt work again. Can't figure that.
Avatar m tn Would checking your blood sugar level 3 hours after a meal be considered "BEFORE" OR "AFTER" a Meal.
Avatar f tn I have had T1D for 9 months now. The last week or so my blood sugar had been between 240-340 mg/dl and I can't get it to come down. What should I do?
Avatar m tn Start a written log of what you eat/drink and portion size, next to it your blood sugar levels. Test before you eat [preprandial] for a baseline measurement and then 2-3 hours after you finish your meal [postprandial]. You do have a home glucose test meter, right? By comparing preprandial with postprandial, postprandial will inform you which foods elevate your levels and which ones do not. You need to make a concentrated lifestyle change starting with foods.
Avatar n tn hbv is from herpes virus family, its template can stay inside cells for decades and reactivate if immune system is damaged by drugs (steroids, chemio) or diseases like aids this is why you cannot donate blood or organs, but do not worry you have total immune control over the virus so only making damge to immune system it can come back
Avatar n tn You could work it out, I guess. Test your blood sugar. Then inject one unit of insulin and test 2 hours later to see how far your blood sugar has fallen. One unit is not likely to cause any dramatic problem. Please make sure you monitor your blood sugar closely when you are taking insulin as an overdose can be dangerous and and an underdose won't get your sugars down enough. Do you have a past log book as recommended by diabetes86? How high is your sugar?
490398 tn?1319940717 This is NOT a fasting glucose. My dad is diabetic and he has all of the tools to test blood. He has regular diabetes not Type 2 but it usually skips a generation. I had blood taken at the doctor last week, again, not fasting, for other health problems and it came back at 169. My doc obviously wants to retest me when I've been fasting and get an A1c.
Avatar f tn For the past few years, I get really shaky and weak and my heart pounds right after I eat. It lasts a good hour and then I feel better. I told my doctor and she did a fasting blood sugar on me and it came back fine. But I feel fine if I don't eat. However, I have to force myself to eat because the longer I go without eating, the worse I feel after I finally do. I don't have other typical diabetes symptoms. What could this be?
Avatar n tn Should I exercise before meals in an effort to bring my before-meal blood sugar down enough for it to be OK to eat something? (I do not experience low blood sugar, even when I fast for a few days).
Avatar f tn I had to change the way I ate to keep my blood sugar more even.. avoid foods that spike your blood sugar such as grains and sugars.. A piece of whole wheat bread will raise your blood sugar more than eating a chocolate bar...I changed to a paleo way of eating and it has done a world of good for me. More energy, perfect blood sugar, blood pressure and lost weight..
Avatar f tn I never had a birth plan but you tell your Dr how you would like for your labor to go. Such as how many people you want in the room, epidural, natural or csection, pain meds...things like that. You can have a birth plan but when you're in labor things can change fast so keep an open mind.
Avatar n tn An insulin pump is something you need to ask your endocronologist for help with. Blood sugar log books can be sent to you from the company that you have your meter through; just call them. Your local Diabetes Charity could probably point you in the right direction too. I'm assuming you already have a pump, but they are all different & you need to be taught how to use it properly.
2094297 tn?1345389093 increase protein, good fats and veggies, decrease bad fats and sugar/starch. This will keep you satiated, reduce your blood sugar, reduce your inflammation markers. Here some meal ideas: unsweetened low fat yoghurt with LSA or nuts and apples for breakfast, some eggs. A handful of nuts for a snack. Lunch: huge salad with mixed veggies and greens with thuna or a grilled steak. Celery with almond butter or carrots stick with hummus as a snack.
7543158 tn?1391978069 That little test he does apparently keeps showing an average blood sugar of 130 when I know that to be untrue. I have a glucometer and check my sugar regularly throughout the day. I've even shown him my meter's log and he still won't believe me about my spikes and crashes. He believes I'm just overly worried and that it's all in my head. What do I do?
Dog I recently got put on Metformin 500mg twice a day for diabetes. The other day my sugar dropped down to 60. Now I hadn't been eating much that day but my Grandma takes the same medication and says she has never had that happen. Should I be concerned?
Avatar n tn juleebee, Many of us can understand this situation -- either as the parent of a teen with DM or as adult who *used to be* a teen with DM ;-) It's a tough situation. Here's my take as an adult who has lived thru my teen years with DM and who has also witnessed my niece's teenage years. She also has had DM since she was very young. While it may feel futile, I'd encourage you to find a quiet time with your son to have a short (short!) heart to heart with him.
Avatar f tn My dad who is a diabetic said he was a little worried and to have him come over and he will check his blood sugar. It was 249 about 2.5 hours after eating. He gave us a glucose monitor and he have been checking it regularly. Some times it gets about 110 and then other times it will spike. The highest its been so far is 269. I have no idea what this means. Im so new to all of this. Is this normal? I called the pedi and they told me to keep a log and call them in a few days.
Avatar n tn So you tested 5 times, if each test covers 1 minute of blood sugar. A day has 1440 minutes in a day and you tested only 5 of them.
Avatar m tn 55% (6/11) of treated ducks had no measurable DHBsAg and DHBV DNA in the blood by the end of treatment and for 16 weeks after treatment was halted, no evidence of viral antigens (DHBsAg and DHBV core antigen) were found in the liver, with covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA), the transcriptional template of the virus, also becoming transcriptionally inactivated and reduced in copy number / hepatocyte by over 200 fold (~2.
Avatar f tn What is your A!C? That would be what would tell you how concerned you should be with your blood sugar number. What the doctor is watching whether you need some form of insulin to keep your sugar to a acceptable level.
1948564 tn?1324647050 My son is 13 and been diagnosed since he was 4. Every day, every hour is different for his blood sugar. I am a little disappointed your doctor has indicated everything should be regular by now. If only we could all live that dream. I would suggest using a log book, you can get one from your doc or free from some meter companies. Write down your blood sugar before your meals, carbs you ate, if that is how you give yourself insulin, and your dosage.
Avatar n tn I have also seen a Cardiologist and had a EcoCardioghram (not sure of spelling), I have had a brain scan along with blood work. Was diagnosed with low blood sugar, a heart valve leak and a heart mumor and Anxiety Disorders. I do not feel as if I am getting any better, every day I feel awful. My Blood sugars when tested at home have been testing between (70's to 272 at highest) a couple of times 56 and 69.
Avatar f tn ve learned a lot and I did my birth plan at 20 weeks. I started with a template I found online then revised it for myself. I have the link for the template in my journals.
