Common Questions and Answers about Teeth problems in adults

teeth

Avatar f tn If they are back teeth and wisdom teeth will come in later in life anyways to fill up that spot. I was just wondering if that is an option. I didn't bring it up with the dentist yet.
Avatar m tn I had the same problem and started using baking soda and hydrogen peroxide mixed in a paste and with a rubber tip put it between teeth and gums. It hurts but once the teeth start to respond, it stops hurting. Seems bacteria can cause your teeth/gums to do wierd things. I swear by the soda/peroxide treatment. My teeth are not hurting any longer. I think this treatment is hard on your teeth and gums. Good luck...sounds like the yogurt and Biotene toothpaste/mouthwash seemed to work well also.
Avatar n tn I have a two year old and I have found that the best thing to do is talk in their terms. I explain my FIL false teeth by talking about her teeth and her cousins teeth. I remind her that we all have teeth and need them to eat. I ask her about her teeth and if she has any new ones. Then I count her teeth. Then I go into her cousins who are a little older. We talk about their teeth. I show her pictures of them with their teeth missing from being loose.
Avatar f tn This is not a huge cause for concern, missing laterals is common. In the short term, these teeth can be bonded or veneered to look like adult teeth. Later, when her jaw stops growing, these teeth can be permanently replaced with implants. Some adults do keep their primary teeth if missing the permanents, but this is usually in the back molars because no one sees them and their roots are stronger.
Avatar f tn Hello, I was wondering if you could help me, I keep on waking up at night and I find it hard to go back to sleep! Also I grind my teeth and talk in my sleep would that make a difference?
Avatar n tn HAVING OCCULAR PROBLEMS,SPASMS IN LEGS. HAD 11spinal surgeries and am concerned about the myelin. The occular problems are abnormal because I have implants from cataract surgery-so not supposed to happen. They are also checking for Sjogren's. I don't want either! I have had spinal problems since age 11 and have spent a life in and out of hospitals and now have rods from the top of my spine to the bottom. ENOUGH!!!
1194973 tn?1385503904 Odd question, but I thought I'd ask. Since Kylie has got her first two teeth coming in, I'm not too sure some of the stuff I should do. I've been told that they need to see a dentist when the first come in, or no later than their first birthday. Is this really necessary? What do they do there? And do I need to actually clean her teeth? They've just barely started to poke through the gum, but I can see and feel both. Also, are dental visits for a baby expensive as adults?
Avatar f tn Place your tooth brush as close to the gum and gentle brush the gums as well as the teeth. In the areas that bleed most are the areas that need more attention. When the baby is born they should start to calm down. Floss regually and use mouth wash before u brush your teeth with a medium size brush.
Avatar f tn A bunch of my back teeth are broke off to the gum and my front teeth look so awful. My babies has took all the calcium out of them.
4373539 tn?1354708752 I think that happens not in adults, but with small children whose teeth are still forming and perhaps with babies in utero -- however it's a question for your doc and your pharmacist.

601114 tn?1220533411 teeth grinding is something that can be fairly common for children and adults. Often, people grind their teeth when they are stressed out about something or anxious. It can be difficult to address this issue with a 4 year old though. Are you aware of anything that may be causing some anxiety? A new routine like beginning pre-school, a move to a new location, house, etc? If it really becomes a problem, you can take him to the dentist and they can fit him for a mouth guard...
Avatar f tn dealt with the high pollen and allergies and again fluid in the ears. Tomorrow I go to have tubes put in. I am extremely nervous because I will be awake for the procedure. Any advice as to what I can except, during and after?
Avatar n tn Two weeks after my initial visit I was at a routine check up with my orthodontist. While there he commented on how healthy my teeth were. This put more doubt in my mind so I told him that my regular dentist said I needed eight fillings. He re-examined my teeth and said he could see none. After this I was full of doubt, so I went to another dentist for a second opinion. After this I was told I needed one filling but I should also get all four of my wisdom teeth out.
Avatar m tn They are known for having bad teeth, also for retaining baby teeth when the adult teeth come in. Can you look in her mouth and see if she has a double set of her teeth, you would see 2 K-9 ( fang adult tooth) and right behind it would be another small tooth with a crook on the end.
Avatar n tn I took my son to the dentist today and have found out he has two holes in in back teeth. Dentist explained they would have to be taken out and may or may not grow back again. He is only 3 years old. He has not had too many sweets or sugary things as we have been fairly careful. I am after some advice as I am shocked and now need to make changes with the food and drink I give to him.
Avatar f tn I have had dogs teeth extracted over the years from puppies with a potential bite problem to adults. When I helped with Greyhound Rescue, we often had to have teeth extracted as they can have very bad teeth. Had to have 2 extracted on my own. They do fine. Most of them don't take the time to chew anything. :-).
Avatar n tn That might give your pocket book a chance to catch up too! In the meantime, take good care of those teeth and gums. There is some data that suggests that poor dentition could be related to preterm delivery. Good luck!
2080404 tn?1643113754 Ugh I can't seem to win. My tooth finally healed, gods it was so sore. Now another tooth feels infected. The gum is all inflamed and the tooth is cracked. Hurts like hell but I've been taking OTC pain medicine and keeping an eye on it. No swelling, thankfully. Just pain. Now my other tooth is hurting cuz I had to chew on that side earlier in the day. How am I supposed to eat anything if I have a tooth on either side acting up??
Avatar m tn If you want, ask your orthodontist about it next time you go in, he can give you specifics. Invisalign still moves teeth, so would not help with the sensitivity.
198506 tn?1251156915 I have very large teeth, I still have my wisdom teeth. When I went in (about 10 years ago) to have my abscess treated I was told that I needed to have my wisdom teeth pulled since my mouth was overly crowded and if I did not then I would continue to have problems with abscesses and pain. I did not follow through and have been abscess free with only occassional pain from time to time.
Avatar f tn My dentist did fillings on two of my teeth for cavities but they won't do anything that requires putting me under gas. They also can't do xrays. My wisdom teeth r cutting in as well but luckily no problems with them. My dentist wants to talk about putting a crown on one of my teeth but won't do it until after baby is here.
Avatar f tn with each of my pregnancies (I'm on #4) I've had to switch to kids tooth paste cause no matter what kind I used in adults I got sick with but crest kids bubblegum I was fine with lol
Avatar m tn Why is there such a large deviation or difference of opinion in different doctors on whether or not amblyopia can or cannot be treated in adults? Is it still because studies such as those conducted by McGill University (tetris) are relatively new?
Avatar n tn This is the issue that has kept my teeth in the state they are in. Every direction I have turned for help to stop the pain or to help me regain my desire to live has ended up being a dead end. I do not have much, but I am willing to give all that I do have in order to be able to smile and eat regularly again with no discomfort and to have my confidence/life back. I have been rejected by regular dentists as well as charity clinics and clinics with sliding scale based fees.
