infection

Avatar f tn Sometimes, I feel pain underneath my teeth, but I know that my teeth are okay. In addition, my cheek kind of tingles. It doesn't hurt, I just feel it...if that makes sense. It evens spreads and turns into a buzzing sensation in my lips, but only the left side, not my full mouth. It happens off and on through out the day. It last for a few minutes and goes away, and sometimes it may last for a few hours and then it goes away. It doesn't keep me awake at night.
Avatar m tn Back in 2005, I had a deep filling in one of my front tooth. Just recently the filling fell off. So I went to a dentist. After looking at xrays, he tells that front tooth needs a root canal since the abcess has reached the nerve. Somehow I am not feeling pain perhaps he says since the other dentist who did the filling killed the nerve. I am questioning the need for the root canal. The only reason I can imagine would be if the abcess spreads to other teeth but I won't think thats likely.
Avatar f tn It would be a good idea to have it checked now so that if it IS a dental problem it can be nipped in the bud before his teeth all start to go bad and an infection spreads through his system. It may be something simple like one bad tooth or it could be the start of lifelong dental problems, but you won't know until you take him to the vet. From the symptoms you gave, this is about the only thing I can think it could be right at the moment. Please let us know what the vet says.
Avatar n tn Please make an appt with your dentist and have it looked at properly. You really could be saving not only that tooth but the teeth next to it. Infection spreads along the periodontal ligament and you won't know it has affected the neighboring teeth until it's too late. Been there, done that and believe me, you don't want to do what I did. It was a very expensive, time consuming and painful experience. Best to you in whatever you decide your dental health will be.
Avatar n tn To a 13 year old, that is huge but she also understands that if she had them off, two teeth would be missing. Thank you for everyone who commented.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had or know anything about skull or jaw osteomyelitis. I know it's an infection that spreads from somewhere else usually but i'm wondering if anyone has had it and can let me know the symptoms. If so i would really appreciate it. I've been having some weird symptoms lately and a little worried it may be this.
Avatar f tn ll probably find an abcess or persistent infection that keeps inflaming the nerve that passes near that area..The pain/ pressure often radiates to the upper molars and/or ear on that side and it can actually cause Bell's palsy -a paralysis affecting the trigeminal nerve (usually temporary) which spreads across your face ...Hope this helps...
Avatar m tn This happens when there is a middle ear infection, which spreads to involve the mastoid bone. You may need to consult your primary care physician who will examine you and initiate appropriate therapy. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Hello! Jacob from Malta, gay male who's 18. 38 days ago, I performed oral sex on a gay male who I don't know. He didn't ejaculate into my mouth, not sure about pre-cum but didn't taste it. 5-6 days ago (at day 32-33) I had something in my mouth (behind of my moral teeth, so I couldn't see it what kind of a wound is that. It was extremely painful at took 5 days to heal. (Still not healed completely, I feel some pain, but not too much.
Avatar f tn I have been referred to the hospital where this week they took my remaining wisdom tooth out as it grew too long, this seemed to have cured my popping jaw . They took a detailed x-ray which showed that my teeth were fine, they have also taken a cast for a splint as they say that it is most likely teeth clenching / grinding. Go towards the end of March for the fitting of the splint, so can let you know how things go. I hope things improve for you.
4431601 tn?1354490571 s clean but you never know. We were kissing for about 6,7 seconds and I know that I sometimes bite my cheeks and I also shaved 30 minutes ago and probably had few tiny cuts (not gapping wounds) and he also licked my cheeks and brushed my teeth and my gums were a little bit bleeding.
Avatar n tn t even lay down. I had an impacted wisdom tooth and the molar next to it removed (had an infection that spread to teh jawbone).
Avatar f tn The one in the middle and the small one beside that. The infection is in the bone of the teeth. I have been given the option to have the teeth removed and given a bridge. thet is not permanent. Is there any other option that I could persue?
Avatar f tn As a result, bite wounds are common in cats, especially when cats are allowed outside. These wounds frequently result in an infection that can be quite debilitating, especially if left untreated. Bite wounds are more common in male cats than in females. However, when a cat bites another cat, his teeth go through the skin, and then he releases quickly. This results in small puncture wounds in the skin, with holes about the same diameter as the cat's teeth.
Avatar f tn Omg, I got a burn in my mouth a week ago and thought all my pain in my mouth was from that, I've been grinding my teeth so bad cause its achy, thanks for posting :)
Avatar f tn But as far as the severe pain in molar, you can die from that kind of teeth infection. Teeth infections like that can kill a grown man. It spreads to your heart and other sinuses and areas around the jaw and face. causes a bacteria infection in the heart that can be deadly if left untreated. If you told your dentist all of that and he says it was a sinus infection, then it's time to find a new dentist. Really need to see someone about the blood.
1550634 tn?1296568028 I don't know the statistics but it can happen depending on where teeth are and how close they are to being exposed and susceptible to the bacteria in the mouth. You wouldn't die from letting them grow naturally. You could have problems with them in the future though if they get infected and potentially die from it if its severe enough but its pretty rare. I'm sure if they started to ache, you would take them out right away.
Avatar f tn Oral herpes is a very common infection and it spreads through salvia or mucus membranes on the skin- it's very common for children to have it even, so it's not anything to do with sexual contact. Your doctors diagnosis is likely correct, but if the medication isn't working, give your doctor a call and let them know.
Avatar m tn I keep reading online about how antibiotics can easily treat genital chlamydia, but that if someone also has a GI infection, it can reinfect their genitals with chlamydia. I assume that someone with this issue (most likely this is what I have) will just be reinfected over and over with no cure? Will I just need to take higher doses of antibiotics than most?
Avatar f tn When the permeability of these capillaries increase, bacteria pass through them into the blood stream. The infection also spreads through the release of bacterial toxins into the blood stream. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar m tn Boils are caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus. . Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection. Bacterial skin infections can be spread by shared cosmetics or washcloths, close human contact, or by contact with pus from a boil or carbuncle. Apply warm compresses on the bumps and keep the area clean.Drainage of the bump is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head.
Avatar f tn Oral sex is not a activity which spreads HIV. Stop being stress and have a peaceful life.
Avatar f tn At that time I had 4 teeth (3 wisdom and a molar) that had cavities. At that appt. The dentist said there was no infection. Was going through a lot of stress, still am, and am really scared about my health all of a sudden. Saw my doctor on Wednesday and he said it sounded like anxiety. Dentist on Thursday, said I had a tooth infection. Freaked out, bc I know that this can spread to your brain.
6780421 tn?1384730327 Hello, Leaving an infected tooth with an abscess untreated can cause lightheadedness. This can occur when the infection spreads into the nerves of the ears which in turn can cause you to become dizzy. Information comes to part of brain from the vestibular system located in the inner ears which help keep the body upright and allow it to move in a coordinated fashion. Vertigo is caused due to dysfunction of the vestibular system. Ear causes are the commonest causes of vertigo.
Avatar n tn Hi, I need some advise regarding my teeth. I had a root canal done on my tooth 19th maybe about 3 years ago. 2 years ago my gum swelled because of pus & infection therefore the dentist did another root canal to remove the infection. I found out last sep. that there's some infection underneath that same tooth again, but because of some complication with insurance i didn't do anything about it till now. This time there's no swelling or pain or any sort of discomfort.
