Avatar f tn Since she has to get implants regardless, I asked her if maybe they can place 3-4 implants to replace the loose lower teeth and the ones that fell out. I know implants are more expensive, but the price of 3-4 with crowns might be about the same as the cost of teeth extractions, root canals, dentures, etc + the oral surgeon's cost.. If the infected teeth aren't bothering her or compromising her nutritional status, can't she just leave them alone for now?
Avatar n tn Hi, I recently had 3 implants done (took whole year to do) on my upper 3 front teeth. When the crowns were put on, the dentist shaved down my lower 4 front teeth to fit with the crowns. I had my original dentist after about 7 months to shave down the back of the crowns, as they were a bit thick, but now my bite is off and my bottom teeth feel like "chicklets" (you know square pieces of little gum). They don't meet my crowns anymore.
Avatar n tn In June I had implants for dentures. The implants are made of titianium. I have had a rash and itch since the third week of the implants. I have never had an allergy to anything before. Could this be the cause of the itching? I have had a blood test but did not do an allgery test. Is this soimething I need to do?
Avatar n tn My 5 year old went for her cleaning today and they took an pamoramic xray and discovered sheHas ALL of her Primary teeth/baby teeth BUT only has 4 of her perment teeth on top, her 6 year old molars and her bicuspids. Nothing else all of her front adult teeth and rest are missing. So my question is what will they do once her baby teeth start falling out and what can I expect financially. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Are there any side effects of teeth implants? This discussion is related to teeth whitening.
460185 tn?1326077772 After having some of my back upper teeth and one front tooth extracted, my other teeth began to "shift". It has effected my speech. I sound like I'm drunk and I'm so tired of being labelled drunk when I don't even drink. Does anyone know anything about dental implants for my front teeth. I'll probably have to have the other one removed if I do get them. All this is the result of gum disease and I couldn't afford to go to a periodontists.
1754670 tn?1312378295 I had a bit of swelling around the third day but it went down quickly after that. Pain was minimal. I used a removable metal partial for the time it took for the implants to integrate, about 7 months. Then the healing caps were placed. They open the gum and place caps into the implant to help form the gumline. Impressions were done then for my crowns. As soon as they were finished, I went and had them cemented in place and I was finished!
Avatar m tn Make a new denture and secure it inside his mouth with three dental implants. The implants are only for supporting the new denture. The implants will remain in his mouth for all of his life. This will make it easy to chew. The side effects are minimal. #2: Try a new denture with additional teeth (more than 11 ) and use an adhesive for as long as possible. When this fails, a new denture along with dental implants will be needed (as mentioned in #1).
Avatar n tn She is only 40 and mortified apparantly the only thing they can do is take some bone out of her hip and put it in her gums, this will take nine months to heal before they do any work on her teeth, and this just for the top set will cost £25,000? Is this right, is there not something else can be done, and something cheaper?
Avatar m tn How many years does an implants are good to say and are they replaceable? This discussion is related to teeth whitening.
Avatar f tn Another popular choice are thin whitening strips that are portable and easy to use. Teeth whitening strips are small plastic strips with a peroxide-gelled side that sticks to your teeth. Though whitening strips are mostly safe and easy to use.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have a somewhat complicated question (so bear with me) about which route I should go for cosmetic dental work. I am 29, in good general health, and most of my teeth are in good shape, except for my top 4-6 teeth, which have always been stunted and over time have eroded away and chipped, the top two scarcely have any exposed tooth at all. I attribute this mostly to genetics, as my parents had similar problems (they had theirs pulled).
Avatar n tn He mentioned to me that a good option was to get an implant done in that one front tooth and do fixed bridge work on back teeth. He said another partial may also be done for the front teeth. I did consult a surgeon with regard to the implant who said I would need a bone graft, and it would take approx 1 year to complete. I dont think I'm up for that. I work in sales so usightly metal and hooks wont work much either.
Avatar n tn (Most of the other teeth were between 2 - 4 mm with no bone loss) I was referred to a periodontist who has recommended bone grafts for those two teeth in addition to scaling/planing. Fortunately I have good dental insurance that will cover most of this, but is there any chance of saving these teeth? Both have some mobility.
1012542 tn?1313354880 I did some research. Cost for implants is $1250.00 - 3,000.00 per tooth, with total cost for the implants between 15,000 to 30, 000. You need to add to this, the cost for anesthesia, synthetic bone (if needed) and xrays. Insurance does not cover implants. Studies show a five year success rate for lower jaw implants & 90% for upper (especially the posterior section) because it's less dense than the lower jaw, making a successful implantation potentially more difficult to achieve.
Avatar n tn The tooth buds are not present and therefore there is no permanent teeth present. If the teeth adjacent to the deciduous teeth(baby teeth) are good I would prefer that you have implants placed if possible. I do not think cutting down good teeth is the way to go in this day and age with the predictability of implants.
Avatar n tn old son is missing 14 of his permenent teeth that are suppose to come in. What is the usual process for these kids who are missing this number of teeth? Is there any financial grants or aids that a single mom could tap into to help with expenses?
Avatar m tn Bali Dental Clinic is the best dentist in Ludhiana Exclusive Center For Dental Implants. This discussion is related to teeth whitening.
Avatar n tn Then you would have gone through all of this for no reason. Implants are like a second chance to permanent teeth. I hope you make a good choice. Not to be ugly or anything, but a lot of the younger dentist are more agressive and they are ready to jump in and do some of the latest technology. Please let me know if I can help anymore! I love teeth! Good luck and let me know what you decide!
Avatar m tn has advised that I either get a denture (which I would absolutely hate) or root canal the two anchor teeth and then insert posts two days later for a new bridge to sit on. Is this normal? and will these posts be strong enough to support this bridge, or could he have done a 5 tooth bridge? Please advise.
1094370 tn?1317134825 ve heard about how bad root canals/implants are for our bodies...? Although I have lyme disease, I consider myself to relatively healthy and I'm currently under treatment for this. I have a consultation with an implant doctor next Monday but I am SO nervous because I've heard that it is very difficult to get the top front teeth to look good. This scares the bageebees out of me!!!! If anyone can give me their thoughts on all this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
Avatar m tn I also really didn’t want to ruin 4 of my healthy teeth for the bridge, and potentially have problems later in life as those 4 teeth develop problems of their own. I underwent the implant process. I had one post placed where the left lateral incisor had been. The other post was placed where my right central incisor had been. I also had to go through a gum graft, because my gums had receded quite a bit from all the surgeries.
Avatar n tn My teeth are about to fall out Upper Arch atleast holes in every tooth I use to have 32 teeth lol now I have 30,one split in half,14 rotting away, 2 wisdom teeth ect.. I know my opition is denture for the upper arch (implants are 1100.oo just for one its stupid.)Possiable bottom denture are there any good dentures out there that look real?, I have no dental insurance yet I have to be put to sleep for anything cause I have a history of punching my doctors.
Avatar f tn Hi my 9 year old nephew just found out today that he has no adult teeth apart from 2 front teeth and now has to have 11 teeth out. What could his next step. When could have false teeth in or is it possible to have implanted teeth in. And at what age could be done.
Avatar n tn It is not possible for me to comment on the feasability of saving your lower teeth without more information(x-rays etc.) If you do have to lose your lower teeth, and I do not know that, then it would behoove you to consider having at least two implants placed and an overdenture. This is the choice of treatment for lower dentures at this point. It will truly salvage the remaining bone on the lower jaw and the comfort level is astounding in comparison to not having any implants at all.
