Avatar f tn I have braces on my upper jaw and I just got my lower wisdom tooth extracted, its been 5 days, the swelling did go down but I can notice that my face has changed. Do extraction of wisdom tooth make the face fat ? Thnk you.
Avatar m tn But looking at the cost and the amount of care to be taken, I am holding back. I would prefer extraction because anyway it isnt helping me in chewing and two of my teeth need filling so i would first spend money on saving them. What should i do?
Avatar f tn Hi, I had 4 teeth extracted 4 days ago for braces but the bottom molar I had removed looks like it has a grey ish/white ish film over it, it also smells and tastes weird there was problems with that particular socket not stopping bleeding but seemed to after a while. I'm not in much pain other than the swelling and tenderness, was just wondering if this is how it's meant to heal? Or if it sounds infected?
Avatar m tn This is what made find a new dentist and orthodontist because i have to correct my teeth,i have an open bite. They told me i need to remove these fragments before i get my braces on.The thing is,i wanna put an implant there in the future and if i remove this root tip now i will lose my bone and may have to do bone grafting in the future, which means,i'll have no bone and to pay more.
Avatar n tn I have 2 pretty seriously crooked teeth in the front, and I'm wondering if (aside from having years of braces for just 2 teeth) veneers are the best way to fix these. I'm not looking to make them neccesarily 100% straight...just better than what they are right now. If not what else is there? extraction and bridges? crowns?
Avatar n tn I am 16 yrs old. I want to put braces on my teeth. The doctors have said that they would have to pluck my 4 teeth from each side. the 4th teeth from each side will be taken out . Does it have any side-effects like brain-cancer etc.?
Avatar f tn I felt fine after the procedure just a slight soreness in my left jaw bone. A week after extraction I had braces applied. That night i was miserable the first night (but who isnt). The next 2 days i felt fine just a little sore in my left jaw. Well third day after braces the pain became worse. Now I have had braces on for a week and im having the worse pain possible that originates in my jaw and shoots up to my scalp.
Avatar m tn Grandaughter had recently gotten braces. Found out she had a couple of teeth growing wrong and sent to an orthodontist. Paid to have X-ray and now they want $1600 per tooth (has 3 to extract) for bone graph. Is this needed and how dangerous is it..... I have heard its GREED.
Avatar m tn The first thing needs be done is extraction of hopeless teeth, which requires professional evaluation. However, extraction of tooth frequently is influenced by financial affodability, particularly in the U.S.At your age, non-recuable teeth are probably due to caries, in stead of advanced periodontitis.if the reason for extraction is non-restorable tooth, multiple extraction in one visit tends to give you more post-op pain.
Avatar m tn Hi, A month ago the crown of my upper left 2nd molar cracked in half to the gum line due to it being severely decayed. I booked an appointment to see a dentist and within the first 5 minutes of completing the x-ray she said I need root canal or extraction. Immediately, I went back home and booked to see a different dentist at a different dental clinic. The second dentist took an x-ray and told me to come back a week later.
Avatar f tn A month ago, I had my 5 year old son to a dentist who said that he had 2 cavities (no xray was taken). Saturday, I took him to another dentist closer to my home for a new patient exam. An xray was taken and the new dentist says the decay is close to the nerve, and wants to do a root canal and crown on the tooth. It is closer to the front of his mouth, and I don't see putting him through that (or my wallet through that) for a tooth that will only be around another year or so anyway.
Avatar n tn Crowding can be caused by improper eruption of teeth and early or late loss of primary teeth. Space can be created by expansion of the arches or extraction of teeth. Correction of crowding can help prevent dental decay and periodontal disease. The prognosis and final outcome can be determined only after a thorough clinical evaluation. Hope it helped. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn Researching oral nerve damage scares the living daylights out of me but so does out of pocket braces with a chance that the issues my not be solved. Thoughts???
Avatar f tn Is it possible to close the gaps completely and then push the teeth little forward so that i can level my big nose with my teeth? Please advise. I am desperately looking for help.
Avatar f tn I've been in braces for 7 years because I had an inherited defect that caused me to be born without my number 7 and 10 teeth. Also, numbers 6 and 11 were located extremely high in my upper jaw and would not erupt. A gold chain was surgically attached to number 11 almost 2 years ago and was 'tugged' on by my braces for several months.
Avatar n tn I am currently wearing braces and my orthodontist said that I will have to get a wisdom teeth extraction surgery. Ive heard that people with heart disease and who are undergoing dental prosedures are at higher risk for developing endocarditis...Is that true? If so, should I tell my cardiologist? HWat prevaentive steps should I take?
Avatar f tn So i had this receptive blwojob from this girl who had braces on her upper teeth. she was quite inexperienced so i could feel her teeth and was afraid it would cut into my penis. After the bbbj, i had like this ache on the penis where the teeth "ground it" i guess. looked for any "abraisons or cuts" and didn't see any obvious just one red spot but looks like it's been there long. What are the risks? The sex was of course protected.
Avatar n tn He already has a mouth full of dental work and has a family hsitory of very bad teeth so it pains me to spend that kind of money when he may end up without any teeth at some point down the road anyway. The surgical extraction will only cost about $180 and that the way we are leaning. He is already missing another molar on the opposite side and has managed fine with out it. What do you think? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I used to grind and clench my teeth at night. Then I got braces and that got fixed by changing my bite. After braces came off I noticed one of my crowned molars hurt when I was eating. Ended getting a root canal and new crown only to find out 4 months later the tooth had a vertical fracture in it. Was told by 2 endos it had to come out. Today it was finally pulled. Your symptoms sound very familiar. Unfortunately extraction is the only solution.
Avatar n tn m not an orthodontist, but I can tell you a few things as an adult who just finished having braces...Yes, teeth can be crooked after taking the braces off, especially when patients aren't compliant about following through with the retainment plan set out by the orthodontist, but even then there are some cases where teeth move back into their crooked position. There are lots of pros to braces.
Avatar f tn After putting up with horrible tooth pain for a week and a half, mine got so bad I had to have an "emergency" extraction (mouth was swollen to about the size of a baseball). As soon as they took the bad tooth out, the pain started getting better right away. I would actually see if they can move your appointment for extraction up sooner; this sounds serious, and you don't want to mess around with a bad tooth infection. It's really not as bad as I thought it would be.
Avatar n tn 3 weeks ago while I was drinking a cold glass of milk I felt a sharp pain in one of my front teeth. A few days later I had a regular monthly checkup (because I have braces) and told the dentist of this certain pain and he relieved some pressure on my front teeth. Perhaps the following few days after I just drank cold water and the pain would start to come back though not as severe.
Avatar f tn Both dentists recommend not touching the other teeth with a bridge since there is nothing wrong with the other teeth. I had four teeth pulled as a teenager for braces so I really rather keep my teeth intact as much as possible...besides I really hate the bridge I do have because food is always getting struck in it.
Avatar n tn We were told that there were also teeth missing and that applying the braces would fill in the gaps. Now 2 teeth are trying to come in between the teeth that have been pulled together by the braces, and the doctor wants to extract them now. We were told these teeth were genetically missing. I think the braces were applied to early, before all her teeth had a chance to grow in. I can upload the exray.
Avatar f tn Braces are useful to straighten crooked, crowded or protruding teeth, close gaps between teeth and correct the bite of the teeth. It is a prolonged treatment. It may take 18 months to 2 years. A visit to the orthodontist may be required every four to six weekly. You should take extra care with the braces since there is a tendency for food to get trapped and plaque formation. Do discuss all your concerns with your dentist before placement of braces. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar m tn I had braces at a relatively older age than most people in my early 40s. The dentist warned me at that point that if I was to get braces then he couldn't guarantee the strength of my teeth in the future (older age) and said I might have complications. I read braces were allowed at any age, but why did he warn me at that time? I'm 58 now and my teeth are a bit crooked and I've lost several teeth as well.
