Common Questions and Answers about Teeth extraction gaps

Avatar n tn The dentist left huge gaps in my teeth (making the teeth longer), because he claimed he had to remove much of the gum due to decay. My inner cheeks and my tongue are constantly filled with sores, because of the huge gaps left in my teeth after this operation. The dentist claims there is nothing he can do about it and that "at least my gum disease is gone and if I didn't brush my teeth for three months, the gaps would fill up.
Avatar n tn While he has the money to do the root canal alone I still have to pay have, but I would rather just get the tooth pulled due to financial reason and the fact that I think it is common that dogs get their teeth pulled. I would rather spend 600$ to get the tooth pulled than 1,000$ for the root canal because I feel the situation is getting taken care of either way. I just want to see what others have done when faced with this problem and what your advice would be.
Avatar n tn My bottom teeth had to be extracted about 7 month ago because the teeth were infected. The dentis made me a denture. My problem is that the dentures do not stay in ( I don't have any gum left) and my gum still hurts. What could cause the pain? What can I do to get dentures without having the gum? How could the denture stay in my mouth?

9190592 tn?1402252466 I have always hated my smile because of the gaps between my teeth. I am 24, and I want to get a permanent or semi-permanent fix. I don't want veneers or bonding because those are just cosmetic procedures. So I was thinking about braces (which i am not keen on) or Invisalign. But I have heard that invasalign is not so effective with really bad gaps. so my question for you is this: Are my gaps small enough for invasalign to a have a noticeable effect?
Avatar f tn I came across the article where veneers can reduce the gaps between ur teeth and also can be a good smile makeover at reasonable prices.
88793 tn?1290227177 here in the U.S. most simple wisdom teeth removals are done with ga and sometimes a little gas just for relaxation not to knock you out. even more complicated procedures like impacted wisdom teeth rarely require a hospital. being completely sedated is more risky than just being numbed up. i only had two wisdom teeth come in (top only) and yes after they were pulled under ga in the regular office i walked a mile home!
Avatar f tn I am a teen, is there any way they will get back to normal ?
Avatar f tn Toothaches and teeth weakening in general since pregnancy? im 17weeks now.
Avatar n tn Either there is infection lingering or the dentist hit the Vagus nerve (a branch) during extraction causing a vasovagal attack, or the infection, swelling, and extraction resulted in TMJ. At times a mouth infection can change the pressure of the Eustachian tube that connects ear to the back of the mouth. If it is blocked Eustachian tube, then doing a valsalva maneuver (Done by taking a deep breath and blowing while pinching your nostrils and closing your mouth) will help.
Avatar f tn I am 24 years old and was referred to an oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth extraction. All four wisdom teeth are impacted, the top two have erupted through the skin, but the bottom two have not come through yet. The oral surgeon informed never once mentioned bone grafting- until I got to the counter and the recptionist was putting together the treatment plan- and then it was mentioned that it was recommended to have bone grafting done after the extraction of the bottom two wisdom teeth.

Avatar m tn Can any member tell me about the risk associated before teeth extraction for hypothyorid patient. I am required to go for tooth extraction & am taking levothyroxine from last 6 month @ 100 mcg. I did my last thyroid scan on 2 months before, should i do a fresh thyroid scan before going to doctor.
Avatar n tn I think my Migraines and Head pressure is coming from my cramped teeth. They are cramped due to my crooked wisdom teeth that are pressing hard againsed my teeth. The thing is I have always had a ringing in my ears from a very long time ago. I was very young and I think the ringing comes from stress. Pain insuces stress as well as head pressure. So when my wisdom finally started to emerge a little over a year ago the ringing in my ear started to get worse.
Avatar m tn After researching I am little concern about the side of extraction. The gums in front of the extraction (teeth 18,19, 20) are bleeding when I floss, and when I put pressure on them with my finger. There is also a slight pain as well. Is this normal? Or is this an infection of some sort?
Avatar m tn I have been suffering with a pain in the left eye cheek and jaw for the last 25 years. I just been for a private consultation and told I have to live with the pain. 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Tempoporamandubluar joint disorder. Avatar f tn I have braces on my upper jaw and I just got my lower wisdom tooth extracted, its been 5 days, the swelling did go down but I can notice that my face has changed. Do extraction of wisdom tooth make the face fat ? Thnk you.
Avatar f tn I she still has the rest of her teeth, one extraction should be no big deal. What you need to find out from your vet is HOW the tooth in question got that way, and what her chances are of other teeth doing the same thing.
Avatar f tn My 5-year-old daughter's teeth are actually quite healthy, but today she was asked to have a dental X-ray for the first time at the dentist. The nurse then dressed her in a leaden jacket that had no collar and didn't fit well at the neck. Will the x-ray through the gaps between the neck and hit the body. How big is the risk? I looked at the images on Google, a lot of clinics have lead coats with collars but some have no collars and a lot of gaps from the neck.
Avatar m tn My dentist said one of my back tooth was a bit weak and that they will need to check it up every 6 months. Well it hurts every once in awhile, but I can't have it checked because I have camp. The inner tooth hurts. I did have my wisdom teeth taken out about 2 and a half weeks ago, could that be the problem? I don't remember MAYBE my tooth hurt even before the wisdom teeth extraction.

Avatar n tn I had an extraction done with a general dentist, it took him almost an hour to get the tooth out. He was suppose to extract two teeth but I was scared that something wrong might happen so he decided to reschedule me for the second extraction..he ended taking out too much tissue with the tooth . Avatar f tn I think the problem is with your wisdom teeth. The wisdom teeth might be pushing all of your teeth in due to its growing sideways. This is causing a block and nerve damage. This ight has caused you a feel of sensitivity. Get your wisdom teeth removed.
