Common Questions and Answers about Teenage acne solutions

acne

Avatar f tn Hi. Acne is no longer just a teenage problem. Here in the Uk the average age for acne has now risen above 30 for the first time. Avoid using heavy moisturisers as this can add to the problem. The best over the counter remedy for spots is, in my experience, Freederm. However, prescription medications are often much more beneficial. Talk to your doctor to see if oral or topical antibiotics could help you, and also ask about hormonal solutions.
Avatar n tn It is not like acne in all over the body parts. It is like red rashes and sometimes in acne coming in abdomen area only. But most of the body area is covered by this red rashes. It is from my 17nth age onwards. I consult too many dermatologists. But, it was not a cure for this. What is the cause of this and how can i get cure from this.
Avatar f tn Same here. Doctor says I can continue proactiv.
Avatar f tn A year or so ago she was getting a lot of pimples. We purchased a regular acne care cleanser and she began using it once a day. It made her skin very dry and flaky, so we switched to a "sensitive skin" acne cleanser. We assumed that the BP in most acne cleansers was just drying her sking too much. She began using the sensitive skin acne cleanser twice a day. She does NOT use a moisturizer. Her skin has begun to dry out again, particularly in the forehead and cheek areas.
Avatar n tn Is it normal to have breakouts every day? I'm 31 weeks today and I have had acne all over my chest, shoulders arms and lower jaw. Also is there a safe way to treat while pregnant? I'm so aggravated with the itchy skin and scarring left from the old bumps. It's not cute at all.
Avatar n tn Ever since I began my 2nd trimester, I have been experiencing terrible acne, what are some things u mommies/mommies to b have used that actually worked??
Avatar n tn Starting a year ago i started to get acne. I know thats normal, but alnog with the acne, my face began to burn like a sun burn. now, a year later, not a moment goes by when my face does not burn. Although it burns and is red all the time, certian triggers make it worse. laughing, eating watching tv, heat, meeting new people. Sometimes it will just burn for no reason. i have gone to numerous doctors and dermatologists but no on knows whats wrong. alnog with this, my acne just keeps getting worse.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am 22 years old and have had recurring acne since my early teenage years. Last year I started to develop small scars, specially below the sides of my mouth, that are not were I've had bumps or blackheads, they simply appear on my skin and have been, though slowly, constantly spreading. These scars are somewhat circular, not very deep but visible, and about one tenth of an inch or slightly smaller. I have no idea how to stop them from appearing or to how to treat them.

Avatar n tn I've always had issues with acne the majority of my teen to adult life. The only thing I've ever kinda found to help was tanning beds, obviously now I'm pregnant I've stopped and my skin is so gross! Anyone have any natural remedy solutions or products? I'm sick of it!
Avatar f tn i'm 18 weeks pregnant and i'd say for the past month month and a half i've had acne like a teenage girl going through puberty all over again. i never had problems with this when i was younger, why now? and any suggestions on how to help it?
Avatar f tn Always check with your doctor if you have any issues. I can't say it any better. But I wouldn't worry about being in the car or opening the blinds. I personally, and this is just me, if I really loved the sun, would find a different way to deal with my acne assuming you haven't exhausted all other avenues of doing that. When I was young, doctors used to give us tetracycline for acne, which also caused sun sensitivity. Of course, they never told us that.
Avatar f tn Try acne solutions by clinique. Its maybe $80 for the system. Ive used it and my 9 yr old uses it daily. Its none allergenic and it was developed by dermatologists.
Avatar n tn Hi. What is your son's diagnosis? If he has acne or rosacea a course of oral antibiotics from his doctor may be effective. Clinique have lauched a new range of products called Redness Solutions. Using their cleanser and moisturiser will reduce visable redness of the face. I also recommend Eucerin's Redness Relief cleanser and moisturiser, which is a bit less expensive.
554628 tn?1362777919 I am the same way, same problem areas. I've heard other ladies say Proactiv is not safe. I know it works wonders and I would be so happy if I could use it. I'm just going to the store and going to look through all the acne solutions and whichever doesn't have the Salicylic Acid I'm going to buy it up. My problem is I don't know what other ingredients I'm supposed to watch out for. Guess I'm going to have to google... Good luck!
Avatar m tn ve suffered from severe sweating since the onset of puberty and also had severe acne as a teenager. For acne, I was prescribe 6 months of accutane - which did wonders for my facial/body acne. However, in the last couple of years I have struggled with controlling back acne. For sweating, when I was 20 I received botox injections in my forhead and armpits - which worked well. Not amazingly, but helped for sure. I had been getting injections every 6 months.
Avatar n tn how can i get rid of dandruff plus sometimes i have acne on my head which don't pain that much but they get red n my hair are oily too what should i do to cope with all these problems?
Avatar m tn Dear all, My girlfriend is stopped with birth control around 5 months ago. We're planning to have a baby. She's having severe acne which started when she stopped taking the pill. Acne on the forehead and the chin, not really in the middle of her face. She's taking zinc and evening primrose oil for about one month now which made not really any difference so far. Has anyone an idea what to do to get it more under control ?
Avatar f tn ll, I am a 26 year old female who a year ago started getting horrible facial acne but only on the cheeks and in the past year has experienced a unexplained 10 pound weight gain with no changes to her diet. I do work out more then I used to but the weight gain is all in the stomach and uneffected with exercise or diet. A year later doctors tell me " I'm 26 my metabolism has slowed down. " and that was my PCP, gynecologist, and a gastro doctor.
Avatar n tn Hi to cure my acne and hair growth my dermatologist recommends to use a hormone pill (sponalactaid i think?) to reduce my high testoterone level. My mother had breast cancer because of hormone pills so I refuse to take it. Instead, I researched ways to lower testosterone "naturally" and came across an herbal supplement called Macafem which claims to affect the pituatry gland to make the hormones produced more "balanced" Anyone heard of this and is this true?
