We are all different and we all react differently. I CAN speak for myself..........I took Zoloft and Xanax together for several years and never had a problem. But that was ME.
I am not anti medication, but I DO believe too many doctors are in too big of a hurry to throw meds at us that we really don't need.....which then turns into a slippery slope.............my advice to you is to give this a little more time.
After recovering from breast cancer, I was prescribed a series of medications to treat depression and anxiety. I was put on Zoloft at first and then switched a few years ago to 40mg of Paxil along with 25mg of Xanax daily. I still feel anxiety and depression, however, and am afraid these drugs no longer work or that I have become immune to their effects. Should I be expecting the dosages of these medications to change over time? Is it normal to prescribe these drugs together?
due to anxiety issues I was taking xanax for 3 weeks then switched to klonopin for 3 weeks, also 2 weeks ago i started taking zoloft. The xanax was .5 mg 4 times a day and the klonopin is 1mg morning .5 lunch, .5 dinner and 1mg bedtime. zoloft started last week at 25mg and now is 50 mg. I built a tolerance for the xanax and now it seems them sames is happening with klonopin. I have a lack of appettite and anxiety.
Hello all, I have been dealing with a bout of anxiety for a couple of months now and have been taking Zoloft and Xanax. The xanax was to be on a "as needed" basis but I have had such a hard time I have taken it nearly everyday. I don't think the Zoloft is working, it's been 40 or so days and I think I have given it a fair shake.
Anyways - I have been taking 1/2 5MG of Xanax almost daily and yesterday I didn't take any and haven't yet today and I feel awful.
That has stopped I am now taking around 8mg of xanax a day and 6 mg of clonazepam a day. Plus I take 100mg of zoloft daily. I have been doing this for about the last six months. I would actually like to stay on the clonazepam at my original dosage but I want to get of the xanax and someday the zoloft as well.
I had an allergic reaction to zoloft about a week ago and it amped up my anxiety. So ive been taking .5mg lorazepams when needed. I used to be on 150mg bupropion but stopped when i got pregnant. Anyways Im scared now to take them both at the same time. I have post pardum depression and ive been exercising to help but its not fully helping. Any thoughts? The Zoloft reaction was the worse thing ive ever experienced with medicine. Severe hot flushes for over 24 hours.
Hello. I've just started taking Zoloft about a month ago. While sleeping at night, I wake up abruptly feeling like I am having a panic attack, chest feels tight, my mind is racing. It lasts for about 15 minutes and then stops and I fall back asleep. I am a bit fearful and worried if I should continue the Zoloft. I didn't have panic attacks this severe before taking the Zoloft. Has anyone else experienced this?
t like dealing with these meds at all. I had been taking xanax , as needed from an old script, and when it ran out, the new doc went with klonopin. Lately, though, my anxiety has been running my life too much..taking away my very self, it seems, so maybe it will come down to a daily, after all. Thank you, again...
Sweetie, like I told you before, it's impossible to know how YOU are going to do on Zoloft. Some people report drowsiness, others report insomnia, still others report zero issues.
It doesn't matter what time of the day you start taking it, just pick morning or bedtime, and start with that. You can always adjust the dose time to help you tolerate any side effects (if you even have any), down the line.
If you have been taking the Zoloft for two years without relief, you definitely need to be re-evaluated. It should have helped by now. I tried Serydyn and I have to admit it did nothing for me. It may have helped others. Xanax is a better PRN med than Klonopin. Klonopin is a better drug for the prevention of the panic attacks. When taken regularly it keeps your anxiety under control(if it works for you).
Technically you shouldn't. But I will speak only from my own experience. I've been on Prozac and Xanax (a benzo), and now Lexapro and Xanax for about 4 years now, and I've had the occasional drink (or 2) with no problems at all. The only thing is that the meds make the alcohol more "effective." That is 1 drink will feel like 2 drinks. So definitely don't binge drink, but a glass of wine or a cocktail here and there is not likely to cause any problems.
I have now been put on 50 grams of zoloft a day, and also two dormicum sleeping tablets a day, and also 2 to 3 mg of xanax. The problem is that I am now still feeling so depressed and partly anxious, i have been taking extra .5 grams of xanax to calm down.i know this is idiotic and alsobeen trying take extra meds a day to just get through.
I am about to start taking Zoloft, so I will stay close to this thread and see what others say about coming off it and any possible w/d;s, but as far as the xanax, you cant just stop taking Benzos c/t! These have to be done on a very slow taper over time. Abruptly stopping these meds, especially depending on how much you take and for how long, can cause seizures and can be dangerous. Please talk to your Dr!!
t want to take plaquenil just yet. Doctor said to take celebrex and a muscle relaxer. I have been taking 1 mg of xanax for 3 weeks and before that it was about twice a week as needed. I was having such anxiety and sleep issues rhemy said to take it every day. Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer. Tried the muscle relaxer the first night seemed to take a little of the night time pain away not much.
