At first I was taking 6-8 Vicodin/day for about a week. Then got down to 4-6/day for several days. Yesterday, very little pain & only took 1 Vicodin. Today, 1/2 Vicodin. I feel awful, anxious, weak, sometimes dizzy, low (for me) bloodpressure, just generally not good. I am bipolar and take 50 mg. Lamictol & 1 1/2 to 2 mg. Ativan. Wondering if I'm experiencing Vicodin withdrawal?

Well, I really don't know what to say. You slipped the vicodin in there on me. Yeah buddy, to me I see some red flags with you. I don't think I would be doing anybody a service if I didn't try and warn you that what your doing is very dangerous. I think before you do anything else try and educate yourself with the dangers of recreational drug use. I've been around the block son. The other side caused me more problems than you'll believe.

I started taking Vicodin a year ago. I am a pharmacy tech and used to make fun of people like me. I am on day 3 of the withdrawls. I stopped cold turkey and have no tablets left...Thank the Lord. I swear I had the flu. but after reading this I see this is all normal w/d. I feel like a horrible person. i have a 18month old and 3 year old daughter. i feel i have cheated my husband and kids of the real me for the last year. I need support. I am mad at myself and mad at the Dr.

I take 4-6 5/500mg vicodin tablets a day, and have been taking them for 7 years. Does anyone have a method or suggestion on how to wean myself off this? Please let me know. I know I will be miserable, but I am miserable taking them too. Thanks so much, Kim.

I was taking 12 to 15 Vicodin every 3 to 4 hours. I was taking 60 to 75 per day and when it ramped up to about 100 per day even my drug addicted mind knew it was time to let go. I did it at home just like most everyone else does. Quitting pain killers was no where near as much fun as getting kicked in the head but very doable. Gpison pretty much sumed it up on what you'll be looking at as far as the withdrawal symptoms. Good luck, you can do it. You'll be glad you did.

I've Been On Vicodin For About 4 Years, and finally I stopped cold turkey about 7 or 8 days ago. No more physical withdrawals but I have lost all motivation and energy, WILL I EVER GET IT BACK?

In my past before taking oxicotin I took as many as 15 to 20 vicodin per day, & for me, it was the first 3 days that were awful, after that It got better, withdrawls are no fun but look on the bright side, you are on your way to freedom, when this is over you can start out fresh & new & not dependent on a drug that controls you. I have faith in you & know you can do this!

I am 21 years old and have been taking vicodin/lortab/lorcet for 2 years now. Sometimes here and there id take a percocet or oxycontin but I tried to stay away from it. Ive been struggling to get off of these pills for 8 months now. I came across a bottle of vicodin 5mg hydrocodone/500mg acetaminophen on thursday night. That night I ended up taking about 12 beers, 6 shots, and 7 of the vicodin. I was irresponisible that night and was wondering if my system would be cleared of that by now. Looking back on it im just thinking thats a lot for my body to handle in one night. Tonight I just wanted to enjoy my standard saturday night (drink some beers with a few friends).

hi I am certainly not a doctor and it is tough to deal with pain - had my gallbladder removed right after my first child was born for same reason. but please, please be careful. I was over six months along and taking vicodin and ended up in the hospital for three days and then went through labor and delivery and then lost baby Emily. I will never really truly know if I caused that from the pills. That has been about 9 years now and it is a heck of a thing to live with.

i have been on vicodin since april 2008.i was given it by my family doctor for back issues.i do construction and my back takes a pounding on a daily basis.in september of 08 i broke my leg.i was given perks from the specialist.so after a rough 5 months of leg issues the vike abuse started.i went from taking two a day to taking 6.now 2/5 years(and 25lbs lighter) later i am at around 8-16 a day.i'm aware that the tylenol is ******* me up but i can't stop.

just got back from the doctor for my knee he suggested since I was not taking real high levels of vicodin that I ween off like taking just a pill or one and a half 10/500 for a week or two and then cut that down and stop. What do you think of this or anyone.

And was given pain meds of course I felt it was ok since it helped pain .. Silly me!!! I was taking 7 a day now I take 4 a day for eight months..and I have my 3and a half grandson living with me since I took him from the hosp.. I have COPD real bad....seems like I messed up real good!!!! I should of knew better.. I take xanex also from a dr.. Now I only take one a day.. Just had a back procedure with no relief... I am not the same person and am ashamed..

Hello :o) ive been taking them for about 7 years. I didint start taking them everyday until about a couple of years ago. I take about 8 a day and when i dont have any (which is rare) i take xanax for anxiety. Ive been told to lower the dose bit by bit but i havent tried that yet. i keep lagging and putting it off for the following week. I tried a couple of times to quit cold turkey but by the 2nd day i was feeling horrible...

I have read a few things about Lyrica, but I would like to know what other's experiences have been. I had a fusion at c5-6 about 1 month ago. For the first 3 weeks, the terrible pain I had near my shoulder blade was gone. Around week 4, the pain started up again on the other side of my body. Pre-surgery, I just had right side pain. That is gone now but I have left side pain. I am taking vicodin, but I obviously can't take that forever. I have to go back to work in 2 weeks.

I just want to make sure Im not going to get dragged through withdrawals again. I was only prescribed 10 5/325 Vicodin and im just looking for reassurance that im not going to be put through hell again if i need to take a couple for pain over the course of a few days.

ve relapsed in a bad way. Originally I was taking percocet in large amounts a day. I would go though a bottle of 120 on 7 days. then I started taking roxycodone. 30mg 4 to 5 times a day. Well I find myself on a roller coaster ride because some day I can get them and others I suffer. I have decided and enough is enough and can't take the ups and downs anymore. I've come back for support becuase I know there are a lot of you that are going though the same thing.

Ive been taking Vicodin off and on for the last 6 years. I'm up to about 3 a day which doesn't seem like a lot, but when I go too long, my face gets hot and I sweat. How do I quit without major withdrawals? Vicodin makes me happy and I feel very depressed without it. Sad thing is, I'm beautiful, huge house and great life. I've been taking vicodin or norco here and there for chronic back pain after a car accident. Right after my car accident I would go through 60 norcos, and 30 soma in a week. Full on abusing and addicted. Stopped cold turkey after a year of that. Not fun. Now I get 20 norcos and will take 1/2 at time every 4-6 hours. Sometimes I find myself taking them even though I'm not in a whole lot of pain. Not sure if that is considered abusing them?

Yes I have a prescription for my herniated discs, but I know I'm taking way more than I should. I've been taking it for a few years now. The total acetametaphin amount based on how many I took is 5000mg and I took it all throughout the day today.
