Avatar m tn Will taking Tramadol interfere with my Zoloft withdrawal recovery, since it's an SSRI? I take only 2 Tramadol tabs a day. (Each tab is 50mg) I was on 50mg Zoloft when I quit taking it cold turkey.
Avatar m tn when you were on your full high dose of tramadol, you were taking your zoloft regularly? that is when the seratonin syndrome could have happened...when you were on high doses of both drugs at the same time...but since you are tapering down the tramadol, i would think your chances of SS would decrease greatly and that you wouold need your zoloft now more than ever to avoid a severe depression crash?
Avatar m tn Does Tramadol have as much SSRI in it as Zoloft? Does 100mg of Tramadol have as much SSRI as say 50mg of Zoloft? I was taking Tramadol while I was going through Zoloft withdrawal and I'm just wondering if I stunted the healing process of my Zoloft withdrawal. My body and mind still don't feel 100% since quitting Zoloft, but it's definitely getting better.
Avatar f tn So many people say NEVER take tramadol and Zoloft together and that they have ended up in the hospital after only taking 200 mg of tramadol while currently taking 100mg or less of Zoloft or another SSRI. Am I just being paranoid? I don't want to chance this syndrome. Please help me......I was never told of safe doses just told by doc if I had any of the symptoms get to the ER ASAP. Why take the chance? That is my feeling.
1081265 tn?1256138365 Suboxone will work but only if you are taking substantial amounts of tramadol; if you are on small amounts, it could conceivably make your dependence worse. Being on zoloft and large amounts of tramadol introduces another risk too which I won't go into here.
Avatar f tn could any of you tell me how long I should be off of tramadol before j can safely take Zoloft please. I'm a mom of a new baby and want to be safe and not hurt myself or him since I'm nursing.
1081265 tn?1256138365 re having to deal with this. I was taking Tramadol for months, as prescribed, and still got hooked. I got through the w/ds only because I also have scripts for Zoloft, Lamictal and Klonopin. (The Klonopin is another story - I am addicted to it, and am planning a slow taper from it beginning with my next script.) But I think you hit on the allure of tramadol - it does make you feel GOOD, and I know for a fact dopamine is involved.
1602919 tn?1297874013 Zoloft for depression and Tramadol for pain? How long have you taken the Tramadol? I ask because I had side effects with Tramadol - tingling fingers, rapid heartbeat and my head felt weird. I have a large herniated disk revealed through an MRI. I was given Trmadol took it one evening and that was it. Now I take Norco because it has less acetaminophen. I'm hoping the hernia will reabsorb. But seriously, in my case the Tramadol & I didn't get along.
Avatar f tn I have horrible depression and anxiety that causes mood swings, suicidal thoughts and intense anger. Its not bipolar since its not manic and doesn't go up or down.I used to be a heavy pot smoker which kept it under control. Well I smoked after my first son was born and noticed I got heavily addicted to it. (Bitchy without it and fiending it constantly) My doctor prescribed zoloft but I didn't feel any different and didn't change my mood at all.
Avatar f tn I would really watch it man,if you are going to take the 2 together take only a 1/4 pill of the zoloft and wait a few hours to see how you feel,I have had several seizures and a near death expierience mixing other drugs with tramadol and I am a heavy duty drug user but tram is a different ballgame,if zoloft wants to take you one way and the tram in another you could die, this is no joke, and the big problem is that they really don't know how to counteract tramadol in the er,they will just make
Avatar f tn zoloft is also an SSRI so there is a risk of too much serotonin in your system which itself increases the risk of seizure. Combining zoloft with tramadol is also quite risky for this reason. Given that you are already struggling with depression, you would really benefit from doing this with professional help. If the zoloft, welbutrin & ativan are prescribed, you could ask your doctor to review whether your meds need to be adjusted or changed.
689267 tn?1235241749 Could anyone tell me if there any problems with taking Sam-e and zoloft? I want to get off zoloft too, but want to wait until I have been off tram longer. (Been on zoloft 7 years) I take a low dose of zoloft- 50 mgs. 1x day. I have read a few long articles on SAM-e, but they just say to check with your dr. I dont want to do that cause he isnt gonna know. He may pretend to, but he is not going to really know.
Avatar n tn Tramadol is addicting and comes with its own set of problems.. ImDone is on so hopefully she will see this. She knows alot about this drug.
Avatar f tn From a fifteen year addiction taking fifteen micro a day tapered down to four to six a day with the withdraws the entire time . Im fed up . A couple of us are supporting eachother on here. So if your interested join us follow the Thomas recipe you can look it up . Good luck.
Avatar f tn I have taken Tramadol for pain and have experienced some side effects and taken Zoloft along with it. I still take Zoloft but added Magnesium Citrate "Calm" to my daily routine. It is called the miracle mineral. Ask doctor!! Look up Dr. Carolyn Dean on the net and she will tell you ALL ABOUT this amazing mineral we are lacking so greatly in our diets. It has helped me so much!!!
Avatar f tn the brain zaps are very infrequent, and I usually feel okay on just 2mgs of Suboxone a day. I want to stop taking the Sub when the withdrawal from Tramadol should be over, but I heard that Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than opiates. I'm getting excited because I might not even need an SSRI, as I am feeling much better from the Serotonin withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn It's tough to weigh it out. I used to take klonopin but apparently *all* benzos (xanax, ativan, valium, etc) can cause birth defects. I had to stop Effexor to switch to zoloft. And stop trazadone, tramadol, ambien...I think it boils down to the doctor's experience and preference with certain meds and if they feel they would do more good than bad. Good luck!!
Avatar f tn I am currently taking 40mg prozac after over a 3 year addiction to tramadol and the occasional hydro.I haven't had any pain pills since Jan.7th and started the prozac the same time. My question, what other AD could I try that could help with motivation, energy. I just feel blah most of time. Its like I sit in a stooper most of the day and just do enough to get by. I've asked this before and some suggestion my AD needs changed. I have a dr. apt.
Avatar f tn I am also taking b vitamins to try to help with the horrible fatigue, are there any other things I can take ( vitamins) that may help speed up recovery? Thank you for reading! Any help is appreciated.
1269044 tn?1393189903 2 weeks clean today from kratom. I'm feeling pretty darn good at the moment. Been trying my best to think positive instead of dwelling on the negative. It seems to be helping. On my second day of Zoloft, very mild stomach issues but who knows if it's the Zoloft or wds still. Sleeping ok. Still have rls but not as intense. I just seem to have a problem getting my mind and bodyto slow down.
Avatar f tn Well I'm 120mgs and only took 50 today and none for tomorrow but I have some tramadol to help cope with the crap feeling cause I already feel like it but not bad I'm just afraid of tomorrow
475300 tn?1312423126 ve tried over 10 on many different intervals and finally gave up and found a way, for me, that works to handle any of my depression issues. I do however, take Tramadol as it helps me immensely with the aches and pains and actually gives me a bit of a mood boost as well. I do not take the Tramadol that has acet./Tylenol in it. I take just the regular strength of Tramadol 50mg, not the ER. It works fine for me.
Avatar f tn My depression is horrible and I think I shoudl at least take it slower with cutting out the Tramadol. I took two tonight - as I normally would have in the afternoon and felt like a normal person. Slow is going to have to do it as there is no reason to bring on a major depression. I was starting to feel suicidal and panicked that there would be no other way out for me. Just hafe to take it slower.
470217 tn?1360565361 Debbie, Thanks for your reply. I know that it takes a few weeks for build up, I guess I was thinking if I was already used to those aspects of the Tramadol that taking those ADs would mitigate that part of the withdrawal. I guess, though, that I may just want to play it by ear since I am seemingly having an easy time of it. I am not sure how many hydros I have left. At this rate, I am thinking plenty to get me through this.
Avatar f tn So I am trying to quit tramadol iv been a addicted to it for over a year now. I don't know how it happened I started taking it for migraines and iv always had horrible depression and anxioty so when I take it it calms me down gives me peace and I had a rough childhood with my mother abandoning me at the age of 8 years old. I liked the way it numbed me to not feel any emotions.
Avatar m tn but they all contain tylenol///ultracet is tam with tylenol....Ultram is just tramadol///tramadol is the generic name and Ultam is a brand name Trams do have both an AD quality causing increased seratonin/which is the same action as many popular ADs...zoloft, lexapro, prozac paxil, celexa...but it is an intense immediate effect with trams and these other ADs have to build up over time to help depression...
