Avatar m tn Will taking Tramadol interfere with my Zoloft withdrawal recovery, since it's an SSRI? I take only 2 Tramadol tabs a day. (Each tab is 50mg) I was on 50mg Zoloft when I quit taking it cold turkey.
Avatar f tn I am addicted to Tramadol from fribromyalgia pain and I ran out of tram and I had some left over hydro so I took some to help with restless legs and it did work a little, I know its bad but I didnt know what else to do. But my question is it safe to mix Vicodin with Advil pm? Its almost 1 am and I just want to be done with the day now, but I dont wanna get hurt or anything...
Avatar m tn Sorry, I thought you said you were wondering whether taking Vicodin would help with the withdrawal. My bad.
Avatar f tn My doctor today switched me to Tramadol to wean off of the Vicodin over 3 weeks, then stay with the Tramadol. Is Tramadol just as addictive as the Vicodin? Will it help with any withdrawl symptoms I may have from going off of the Vicodin? I am terrified of withdrawl and have no idea if I will experience withdrawl symptoms. Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn If you go take a look at the discussion post for Vicodin/Tramadol you will find a wealth of information about Tramadol withdrawal, which is worse than the Vicodin. Vicodin lasts a short period and Tramadol can last for months. However, you need to do what you feel you need to...no one can make this decision for you.
Avatar f tn Hi! Glad you bumped, vicki! Ok.....I would NOT start any other opiate now. It will not be a lot of help anyway. The AD properties are as hard to detox from as the opiate part. It is just a double whammy! Call your doc. If you are going to ask for anything, ask for some clonidine. That would help way more than vicodin. PLUS....it's not addictive like vicodin! It's a bad, bad, bad idea all the way around!
Avatar f tn Please don't take Tramadol!!! I've been taking it for 6 months and can't get off. Before i started taking it, vicodin worked so great for my pain...now if I take a vicodin it does NOTHING for me because I take such a high dose of trams! with trams like most pain killers, you usually have to continue taking more and more to get it to keep working for you. Some people say it does nothing for their pain but it does help mine.
Avatar f tn I had brain tumor surgery in June and have been on Vicodin. In the last month i have been alternating (every 4 hrs) both Vicodin and Tramadol on a daily basis.I thought it would be a good way to decrease the Vicodin. I read the "precautions" for tramadol and it states "do not take with narcotics or other opioids". Then I realize that tramadol is just as addicting as vicodin. So why would a physician prescribe tramadol to try to get off the vicodin?
Avatar n tn re not having any withdrawal symptoms from the Vicodin though is because the tramadol is still stimulating your MU receptors, which are the same receptors that the Vicodin attaches to, therefore as far as your body is concerned, you are still taking a narcotic. That's the problem with tramadol. It's still addictive like a narcotic, it reacts the same way on your body as a narcotic, but it's not strong enough to control anything but minor pain.
Avatar f tn I have a herniated disc l5-s1, I have been on tramadol 2-50mg pills every 3-4 hrs due to the severe pain and vicodin as needed when therapy got really painful, the dr told me to take 2 pills but failed to change it in the computer now I'm cut off till 2 weeks from now . I'm in chronic pain and have about 25 vicodin left. I'm worried about the withdrawl symptoms from the tramadol.
Avatar f tn Currently I have been taking one tablet of tramadol mid morning and one tablet of percocet at night. My question is are any of you prescribed 3 different pain medications? I have an old bottle of vicodin and it is helpful for my pain for me to occasionally alternate not taking the one tramadol but instead taking the one vicodin. I'm afraid to ask my doctor if they would be willing to additionally now prescribe me vicodin. What are your thoughts?
Avatar f tn Tramadol does not "help" with withdrawl. Tramadol stops the withdrawl process by its own opioid action & then taking the place of whatever narcotic you're trying to kick. Tramadol sets you up again by causing you to re-addict to it, tramadol hydrochloride instead, No relief at all: just substituting one serious addiction for another real-deal addiction that's just as nasty as the other, if not worse. Really, tramadol is not the answer.
Avatar m tn Hi all, I had been on Xanax 2mg,Vicodin 5/500mg and Tramadol 50mg for 2 yers(Xanax and Tramadol) and 1 year(Vicodin)taking 8 to 10mg Xanax and 2 to 4 pills of tramadol and Vicodin daily. I am slowly weaning off the Xanax, I'm on day 53 and down to 6.75mg and quit cold turkey the tramadol and the vicodin 16 days ago.
Avatar m tn I am about to go cold turkey on a oxycodone/vicodin dosing of ~150-160mg/day for 6 mo. (before that it was 100-120 mg of vicodin for 1yr and irregular usage for several years prior to that) I have no way to taper and have used Suboxone before as well, with varying success (i.e. obviously it hasn't worked as a final solution for quitting).
Avatar n tn I have degenerative disc disease and have been taking 3 10 ml vicodin with acetaminophen for 5 years with very little side effects. Because the back pain is now getting severe, my doctor wants my to switch to Tramadal. Is Tramadal a stronger pain reliever and what side effects does it have?
464393 tn?1206755395 Can you tell me if i took tramadol with my methadone will taking the tramadol cause withdrawal from the methadone. The people at the clinic said that it would but they also say other things that I found werent true.I would only be taking it for a few days so getting addicted wouldnt be a problem.
Avatar f tn Geesha, what about cyclobenzapine? And what does methadone have to do with tramadol? Methadone treats addiction problems. I'm on bupenerophine, which is kind of like methadone but supposed to be better.
Avatar n tn Hey there.....I don't know about percocet but I took tramadol with vicodin before. I take tramadol and my script was running out before I could get it refilled so I took the vicodin to help make what tramadol I had left, last. So, medically I think it wouldn't hurt anything to take them. You just have to be very careful with tramadol! I am in the process of trying to ween off of it and my dr.
406036 tn?1216188561 I personally felt the addiction was worse than vicodin and tramadol...at least for me. They gave me tramadol because they wanted me off the vicodin, and I had no problem with that in terms of addiction. I was able to control the dose combard to the the Ultram. Ultram is the same as Tramadol except that you only take one pill with Ultram...and you have to wait for results. While you are severe pain, that is a long time to wait especially since vicodin and tramadol works faster.
Avatar m tn Since I started to wean off my Xanax addiction I quit taking the Vicodin and Tramadol, except for 1 day had bad migraine and none Imitrex pills, my insurance only covers 9 pills and paying them is more than 200 dollars. The point is that I do not feel side effects or W/D effects from quitting the Vicodin and Tramadol. It this possible? I didn't even knew Tramadol was an opiate until I joined this community.
Avatar m tn I was on Tramadol for only 7 days to help with my Vicodin withdrawal. It really helped because I felt no bad symptoms from the Vicodin withdrawal. Anyway, today is the first day without taking Tramadol and I'm feeling extreme apathy, irritability, and depression. I'm getting REALLY pissed at every little thing and some things are making me emotional and I even cried for a long time and I NEVER cry. Is it possible to be going through Tramadol withdrawals so soon and so severely?
Avatar f tn I have severe shaking, diareah, I feel like the withdrawl of vicodins was easier. I feel like replacing tramadol with vicodin for now than later withdrawl from vicodins! So i just took 1 vicodin right now to see how that will help. I know its replacing one pill for the other but dont know what else to do! I try to come on here and be positive.Im so greatful for all advice you all have given me. Please help! Thanks in advance!
Avatar m tn With you saying you are going to take a vicodin to help with the withdrawals is addictive behavior. There is no difference in taking vicodin, tramadol, or anything else in the opiate or opioid family. From what I have read, tramadol should be tapered due to the risk of seizures. You may want to consider getting back on the tramadol and doing a slower taper. If tapered properly you will feel little to no withdrawals. I know you say you are not addicted yet, but please be very careful.
6884999 tn?1385764179 thank you I had no idea tramadol was like this I am up to 4 to 5 a day vicodin 10 miligrams each and 2 tramadol so I thaught increase tramadol lower vicodin God am I glad I found this site.
Avatar m tn Question 1 is this considered cold turkey and am I flirting with another seizure. (stopping tramadol but using vicodin)? Or am I okay and is this not considered cold turkey. My seizure was sunday night. monday I took 3 tramadol(300mg) Tuesday, wens and thursday no tramadol just vicodin.Should I quit the vicodin and go back to taper with the tramadol now just to be safe.????? Help, i'm scared???
