She has also taken 1 gram of Xanax. Is that safe? Can you take the both together? She is a very good friend of mine and I really just want to make sure she's going to be ok. They're typically low doses, but 2 different pills at the same time. She took the gram of Xanax about 15 minutes ago, I tried to talk her out of it, but being a recovering addict myself, I guess my advice is worthy for her. I hope by this time you have called your physician or consulted with your pharmacist on taking the two at the same time. I take diazepam (similar to xanax) and hydrocodone together under my direction of my physician. If fact she insists that I take them together when my pain becomes severe. One potentiates the other. My diazepam is prescribed for muscle spasms not anxiety. It is a medication that accomplishes both as I would xanax would also do to some degree.
t like dealing with these meds at all. I had been taking xanax , as needed from an old script, and when it ran out, the new doc went with klonopin. Lately, though, my anxiety has been running my life too much..taking away my very self, it seems, so maybe it will come down to a daily, after all. Thank you, again...
t want to take plaquenil just yet. Doctor said to take celebrex and a muscle relaxer. I have been taking 1 mg of xanax for 3 weeks and before that it was about twice a week as needed. I was having such anxiety and sleep issues rhemy said to take it every day. Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer. Tried the muscle relaxer the first night seemed to take a little of the night time pain away not much.
Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
Ive been taking percocet on n off for 5 years. More on than off. I use to subsitite with norco, 10mg when id run put pf my 30 month supply of 120 after 2 weeks. I try to taper, and it helps. I recently went up to 6 a day of 10/325. O have 3 left with one ready to inhale for the am. I am coming out of a drug imduced psychosis episode. I've gotten them before, but this was the worst. Im taking 2 mg xanax which has brought me back almost 99%.
Hello I am going to go off a 3 year 4 -6 a day Percocet habit on Friday alone .. I have to do this for myself my children and my new job that I start in two weeks . My dr recently prescribed me Xanax and celexa for anxiety and depression but I was to scared to tell him about the pills I have been taking ... I have not started the celexa because I am scared it will interact with the Percocet and haven't taken Amy Xanax because i haven't needed it ..
It is doubtful. If you are taking as directed, for the reasons it was prescribed, there is probably no problem. Addiction is the abuse of the meds. By using for other reasons, or taking more than prescribed, etc.
, I have been on and off the xanax a couple of times and have never been addicted, I dont care for it because it makes me so tired so I have rarely taken it but wondered if it would help with the intial stages of withdrawal from the P's. Using it as a tool and not a substutute. As for sub, I have never taken it and cannot recomment it to anyone, only a thought of maybe trying it if all else fails. Thanks for replying Back.
What are my options for the breakthrough pain, that is what I am taking the percocet for and I need to stop with the Tylenol already enough is enough. I talked with my doc last time I was there to see her, and this is when she switched me to the percocet from Vicoprofen, due to the fact that it was doing nothing for the pain.
Please if you have any ideas I know you might not be a Dr. however, I just need some one elses opinion on this matter.
This last one left me with such tightness in my chest and the inability to get a deep breathe for 24 hours and only improved upon my taking the Xanax. That never happened before, those feelings typically subside within 30 minutes.
Vicki, I am just taking Percocet now, no Oxy. I have not taken Oxy in over two months and have reduced the Percocet. Probably actually closer to 1.5 per day. Wanted to jump by now but struggling with the mental part. Thanks for thinking of me!
I have read this forum for several hours and have already gotten some answers. I was prescribed Percocet for severe muscle spasms in my back. Usually 1 or 2 would nip the spasm before it got too bad. Then I discovered it helped me sleep also! I also found it helped my mood, i.e., made me more talkative to my husband, more interesting. You all know the rest of the story.

I have been on all sorts of meds in the past, including vicodin and percocet. My orthopedic Dr. told me before I could mix tylenol with advil and it would equal a pain pill without the narcotic effect. I don't remember how many of each to take and how many hours apart to take each of them. Is this safe? I would rather take these then go back on pain meds! Thanks!
They can be dangerous taken together because of the risk of OD. But if he has been taking them together for awhile and is under a doctors care he should be fine. I was hooked on Percocet and would take Lorazepam sometimes for panic attacks, never had a problem. I was also on anti-depressants. There is a risk. How much of each is he taking?
I was put on Zoloft at first and then switched a few years ago to 40mg of Paxil along with 25mg of Xanax daily. I still feel anxiety and depression, however, and am afraid these drugs no longer work or that I have become immune to their effects. Should I be expecting the dosages of these medications to change over time? Is it normal to prescribe these drugs together? I am also on toprol for my blood pressure. A different perspective on these drugs would help. Thank you.
i have cut back to 2 mg of xanax a day and by next week i can cut down to 1 xanax and the next week be off.........per my dr he is a pshy.A friend told me she thinks thats to much benzos...........so now im scared. I have to get off the xanax.I am pretty drowsy..but my dr said that should pass once my body adjusts.........

I'm just curious why you chose an addiction forum to post your question? Obviously, being on Suboxone, I'm assuming you have a history of addiction? Can you share a bit about your history? What you were using and how long?
As for the combination of medications, it IS problematic in many ways. Are you getting your Suboxone from a Sub clinic? If so, are they aware of the Xanax?
I still ahve anxiety, my doctor gave me Celexa which is okay, my question is, is it okay to take Xanax and Celexa together? I used to take Xanax too for panic attacks, and for now I know it will make me feel better. Does anyone know if they can be taken together? I have never been hooked on Xanax at all, so that is not a problem.
