I am addicted to Tramadol from fribromyalgia pain and I ran out of tram and I had some left over hydro so I took some to help with restless legs and it did work a little, I know its bad but I didnt know what else to do. But my question is it safe to mix Vicodin with Advil pm? Its almost 1 am and I just want to be done with the day now, but I dont wanna get hurt or anything...
I was given vicodin and told I could alternate that with Advil. I took the vicodin only before bed and did ok with just the advil during the day. I would say just try the advil, it that doesn't cut it for you then the next time that you can take some meds take the percocet. By the third day I barely needed the advil anymore. Is there any danger in taking over the counter cough and cold products for a recently recovering opiate addict? What can they take for a cold, particularly a severe cough?
I do remember a few years ago they ( FDA or some govt agency) were talking about taking vics off of the market because of people going into liver failure with taking them and mixing with other actiminaphine containing drugs.I guess upto 7000 mgs a day of actiminaphine is ok but still I dont know why.
I started taking a lot of Tylenol(4g a day, but never more), sometimes mixed with Advil to curb my back pain. I then moved on to the doctor and go prescribed Vicodin. Next was the Percocet. I have never considered myself an addict to pain meds, for the most part I used them responsibly. As I type now I have been attending PT for the back pain and have been off any type of pain medication for 3-4 weeks. Anyway to get to my question.
I've been taking one vicodin before a round of golf for relief of upper right-side back pain. Otherwise, the back hurts while I play and stops after completing the round. My question: is there any real concern about this use if limited to 20-24 days/month?
Hi guys! I have a lot of chronic pain problems with my knee, back and foot. I have been on all sorts of meds in the past, including vicodin and percocet. My orthopedic Dr. told me before I could mix tylenol with advil and it would equal a pain pill without the narcotic effect. I don't remember how many of each to take and how many hours apart to take each of them. Is this safe? I would rather take these then go back on pain meds! Thanks!
I have been clean from vicodin for 3 weeks now, but I hurt my back while moving into a new house. One of my relatives gave me a few flexarol but I have not taken them. Is it ok for me to take flexeral or is that an opiate like vicodin? I don't want to take something that is going to remind me of vicodin.
definitley divine intervention there,will otc like advil help with your headaches? the vicodin will trick you into feeling like everything is ok,but it just gets worse and worse as far as how many you will need to feel good...the good thing is you havent been taking them for years so you should be able to kick this,maybe tell your dr about your headaches and get something non-narcotic to help you...take care of yourself and take vitamins...
By taking the oxycodone, you can take either Tylenol or Advil along with it, but you can take it with, say, every OTHER dose so that you don't exceed the toxic level every day. You will end up with liver problems if you take large amounts of acetominophen and that will be more dangerous to you than larger doses of opiate. Once a person becomes opiate-tolerant, they can tolerate quite a high dose of opiates safely, it's the acetominophen that will hurt them before the opiate does.
I bit down hard on a popcorn kernel last Friday (six days ago), and am still in pain. The gland under my jaw, on the left side is swollen. What, exactly is going on? I had the area X-rayed, and nothing showed up. I'd like to know how long this pain is going to last. I am taking Advil and Vicodin to stop the pain.
Yesterday, I had three molars removed, two of them wisdom teeth. I also had to have a sinus flap done after the removal of the top molars. I was given antibiotics and Vicodin to take, which I have done so on schedule. So far I've felt ZERO pain.
The post-op instructions all say to keep an ice pack on for swelling, which I have not used because there is no swelling so far.
Taking advil once won't do any harm. But definitely try to avoid taking it at all costs. It can cause developmental issues with bub if taken too often (also not recommended at all during 3rd trimester). See your doctor for alternate pain relief. They may recommended to you a codeine and paracemtemol product which tends to be safer than anti-inflammatories, at least for short term until a dentist can be seen. Good luck x.
Hey guys. I've got a problem slightly different from the ones I've been sorting through looking for an answer, so I decided to post here. I have chronic migraines, and my doctors think it's related to stress and anxiety. They put me on Vicodin for the pain while waiting for a drug called "Topamax" to kick in, which takes a few months, and when it did it only dulled them and lowered the frequency.
I am taking vicadin for endrometrosis pain. I have tried aleve but not as helpful. What elese can I try over the counter?
advil is a minor anti inflammatory
I have never heard of it prescribed for this before but it could help a little I suppose
more widely prescribed for GM are some of the big anti inflammatories - particularly prednisone or methotrexate
I did take Naproxen for some time, (months at a pretty high dose - it really attacks your stomach lining though so I went off), which I guess is a step up from advil, and is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), can't say if it helped with the inflamma
