There is no reason you can't take Abilify with Zoloft. I take Abilify with several other medications. It started working within 2 weeks and my depression decreased dramatically. One common side effect of Abilify is akathisia, a restless need to move. I have that but added propranolol and it stopped it completely with no other side effects.

I am on zoloft which does not help with my anxiety, does adding abilify help with the anxiety and the depression?

I tried Abilify with my antidepressant. After a few months on Abilify, my anxiety was actually worse. I noticed that the Abilify caused me to be agitated and restless (like I couldn't get confortable or sit still, kind of jittery) Abilify is really ment more to aid in the treatment of depression than it is anxiety. It's designed to be used as an antidepressant add on drug to give a bit more antidepressant punch rather than an anti-anxiety punch. Bad idea I think.

I have been on Zoloft 150mg for about a week and feel more agitated, nervous, anxiety and still depressed so my psychiatrist just added Abilify (5mg) and Remeron along with a thyroid RX to my Zoloft 150mg. I feel this is way too much as I was hoping to change to a different SSRI instead but he didn't feel that would help. I've been taking Ativan .

After trying different meds, the combo that seemed to work best is 2 mg Abilify w/200 mg. Zoloft, in the morning, with 1 mg. xanax up to 4 times a day as needed. After about 10 months, he is groggy, has short term memory loss, sleeps a lot, and seems to be "out of it" a lot. Is it the Xanax? I am worried sick.

I tried to stop taking zoloft and abilify about three months ago. I tapered off the zoloft and stopped the abilify cold turkey, per doctor's advice. I had mild side effects for the first month and then totally crashed. Needless to say, I called my doctor in desperation and was represcribed both medications. I feel much better, but am still very serious about stopping the medications sooner than later.

What should or could happen to someone who is taking Abilify 5mg 1X a day, Zoloft 50mg 1X a day, Gabapentin 200mg 3X a day.

I take an AD along with Abilify. Within a week after Abilify was added I started to feel better. Right now I take 15 mg but I have taken as much as 30mg. I did get akathisia from it (restlessness ) but added propranolol which stopped it. Akathisia is a common side effect.

Her denail began to fade, and she actually started taking the Abilify and Seroquel. Once she felt better, she got back on the Adderoll/Zoloft rollercoaster and off the Abilify and Serouquel. She is also bulemic and purges after every meal. She's been to the hospital 3x for extremely low potassium (sweats, palpitations, nasea and diziness). I take Zoloft and Abilify for bipolar disorder. My sugar levels were heightened due to Abilify, but I am now taking Metfforman to level out my sugar level because Abilify has the ability to heighten sugar levels. I am not a diabetic. Does cholesterol have anything to do with this cramping?

I had been taking Zoloft for about 3 years, and recently stopped it on my doctor's advice, as he suspects the Zoloft is what's giving me an inability to orgasm. I stopped 10 days ago and am still suffering! This is not a lake of desire problem, or a relationship issue. I also take Clonazepam and Abilify. Most anti-depressants tend to "poop out" after a few years in about half of those that take them. This is in part due to the brain finding a work-around on the medication so other steps are taken to get the depression/anxiety back in check. This problem is commonly fixed by adding medications such as Abilify to the original anti-depressant. Personally, I would not add these type of meds to Paxil unless you have not had any weight gain issues during your time on in.

I am glad your son is ok. I don't know anything about abilify but I take zoloft and I am taking klonopin( used to take ativan ) I think I am going to wean off klonopin...only been on for a couple days. How are you feeling?

So my psych put me on Zoloft. The Zoloft made me really tired again all the time. So I stopped taking it. The Wellbutrin has lost it's effect to keep me awake and I'm crashing at 1pm. The Wellbutrin has mostly taken away my feelings of wanting to cry over nothing but I still have rough days. Someone will say something to me and if I was completely happy before and it upset me even a little I will be in a horrible depression for the rest of the day.

Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this? Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's. Just a thought.

I have never heard of antidepressant mania passing, just getting worse. Have you switched up your mood stabilizer/anti-psychotic. Because sometimes it takes the right combo before it works. I have only ever been on lamotrigine (can't take Lithium due to previous kidney issues). As an antipsychotic I tried Risperadol - worked great - made me lactate - deal breaker. Seroquel - zombie. Geodone - anorexic, tired.

I have been taking the lexapro for almost 2 weeks now for anxiety/panic. After 4 days of just half a dose (5mg) I felt really strange and depressed. Alittle better now, but still down more so then before the lexapro. Is this something that goes away once you're on the med for awhile? I already had severe anxiety with panic, I don't want to add deppression on because of the meds, if this is the case. Now the dr. wants me to try the 5 mg of lexapro and 2.

I was told to switch from 150 mg Zoloft to 20 mg of lexapro and I am also taking 5 mg of abilify. I am SO WORRIED the lexapro will make e dizzy. Please anyone have insight in this. Please help. I am freaking out and so worried.

First off I went through the horror of the Paxil withdrawals and I hear that Zoloft is also very hard to get off of. I seem to have issues with anxiety and depression and my doctor seems to think that this will help with both of the issues as Paxil seemed to. Here's the catch though, when I was taking Paxil it totally killed my sex drive and made me very tired.

I take 150mg a night or I wont sleep cuz I have neuroleptic induced tardive dyskinesia from taking abilify. kolonipin is for anxiety not a sleep aide.

Instead she weaned me off the Zoloft in only 9 days with instructions to start pristiq 50 mg daily after the nine days. She failed to tell me the hell I would go through weaning off Zoloft. I'm afraid to sleep in the same room with my wife due to the nightmares and that I might hit her in my sleep. I also feel like I have mini shocks through my body, very anxious and down. I used to really like my doctor but now she is so busy our visits are 3 - 5 minutes.
