Take celebrex with tylenol

Common Questions and Answers about Take celebrex with tylenol

celebrex

Avatar m tn I had had a problem with anti flams for a while and i new i couldnt take celebrex as i had terrible cramps in my stomach. My doctor gave me the meloxicam by mistake, he done it again the other day but luckily i spotted it and he apologised and changed them to etoricoxib. Please be careful when you are given pain relievers and anti flams. Ime really worried about taking these etoricoxib even tho i was assured by the receptionist that they are not in the same family as celebrex and meloxicam..
Avatar f tn It is my opinion that each of us have to research the medications we take and make our own decisions based on that research and our comfort levels. Personally I would not take Celebrex long term but I take acetaminophen (tylenol) long term which can be just as risky. So it's an individual decision. Does it significantly help your pain? If it does that would certainly be a large part of my decision process. I hope my input has been a bit helpful for you.
Avatar m tn Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I meant to add that to find out WHICH med is causing the eye problems you should stop them ONE at a TIme. That way you will know. I THINK that you've pretty much figured it out that it's the Neurontin and not the Celebrex that was causing it from what you have said to me. Especially since that is one of the side-effects of the Neurontin and VERY seldom (only - was is it 5%?) for the Celebrex.
Avatar n tn Since the blood work and the results the doctor told me to stop taking the Celebrex and just to take Tylenol instead. The doctor now wants me to have an upper GI evaluation. What could possibly be wrong?
Avatar f tn These have worked for years, but I was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and told that Celebrex is not recommended with the oral chemo medication they want to put me on (Ibruntinib) because of severe bleeding issues. So obviously I am going to have to find an alternative pain med for my osteoarthritis. Tylenol doesn't do a thing. Vicodin doesn't really do much either (not for the knee pain).
Avatar m tn I had lumbar spine fusion six weeks ago and am in PT. Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
Avatar n tn Contrary to popular belief, acetaminophen (the active ingredient in Tylenol®) is perfectly safe for patients with cirrhosis as long as it is used cautiously. Any person who drinks alcohol regularly should not consume any acetaminophen. For patients with early cirrhosis (CPT class A or B), the use of acetaminophen is safe as long as the recommended dose is not exceeded (1,000 mg per dose, repeated no more often than every 6 hours).
Avatar f tn t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
Avatar f tn How long does it take for full effect and can you take Motrin or Tylenol with it. My doc says that I can take the Motrin in between the Celebrex wearing off and the Limbrel taking hold. I just hope that this is the answer to some of my pain. It is beginning to get in the way of my daily living and I am scared that if this gets worse, how will I function? I am 58 years old and have just started to babysit my first grandchild in Sept.
203342 tn?1328737207 He was going to give me Motrin but I told him my GI doctor told me not to take it. So he prescribed Celebrex. The pharmacy noticed I had an allergic reaction to sulfa before and said that Celebrex contains sulfa in it. I told them I just broke out in a rash so they gave me the prescription. Now I'm wondering if I should take it and risk a break out again or take the Motrin and hope things will be ok with that. I just don't know what's best!
Avatar f tn I apologize for the question and it would take forever to explain everything. I realized after I posted I shouldn't have. However, if it took you, dominosarah a month or 2 before you noticed a decrease in pain then I am going to have to do this by a slow taper as I don't have a cold turkey in me. I am on tylenol 4's and have been for a couple of years.
Avatar f tn I am allergic to all drugs in the morphiene family and need to be able to take something stronger than aspirin or tylenol. Tramadol and Ultram have very little if any effect and I have been told my the family doctor that Ibuprofen, Aleve and Celebrex are now unhealthy for my eye condition. Any suggestions as to what can be taken for pain that won't interfere with the current eye treatments?
548642 tn?1266179652 I take Celebrex and was in fact put on it by the h ead honcho at Shands at the university of Florida. I have RA and the mainstay drug for an RA flare is Prednisone. Since steroids are a big no no on treatment, Shands recommended that I go on Celebrex when I started this round of tx. I have Stage 3/4 liver damage. They must feel the benefits far outweigh the risks in my case.
Avatar f tn A lot of you are just like me...wanting to find something to help with the pain. I am 58 yrs. old and take Celebrex for a disc problem in my back. Then, a few months ago, I noticed that my hip was paining, then my wrist, then my shoulder...My hip has become the worst - it keeps me from sleeping most nights since that is the side I sleep on. Celebrex does half the job, but I end up using Tylenol Arthritis in addition many days. My doc tried Ultram, but it made me sick.
2202729 tn?1377551205 I agree with Pooh, take Tylenol. I think most hepatologists recommend it for liver patients, up to 2000 mg per day. NSAIDs (including Advil, Motrin, aspirin, pretty much every OTC pain-killer other than Tylenol) are contraindicated if you have liver disease.
Avatar m tn Surgery has been suggested to me as well however my doctor has me on celebrex for the arthritus and also tylenol arthritic medication pain killers. I have heard that over a long period of time celebrex may not be good for you however in the interim until you decide it may give you some help.
Avatar f tn The advil/tylenol flip-flop is when you would take advil, then a few hours later, take tylenol, and then advil, then tylenol - all overlapping doses. this keeps a steady does of them in your system, without the risk of overdosing on either.
287246 tn?1318570063 DO NOT take celebrex with ttc!! It can cause miscarriage it causes a problem with implanting. Drs say it is safe but research shows it is NOT safe. It's the same reason you cannot take Aleve in pregnancy they are both a NSAID. It won't cause any birth defects but it can cause miscarriage.
Avatar f tn Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
6708370 tn?1471490210 Check labels for acetaminophen, and don’t take more than 4 grams—equal to eight Extra Strength Tylenol tab--lets—a day from all sources. Alcohol (three drinks or more at a time) and certain other drugs increase the risk. Heavy drinkers and those with liver disease should at least limit, acetaminophen. Taking the drug while fasting also increases the risk. • Kidney damage. NSAIDs (and acetaminophen to a lesser extent) can damage the kidneys.
Avatar f tn Most of us during treatment take Tylenol to relieve aches and pains. But watch your dosage. I have cirrhosis and was limited to 2000mg per day. Four 500mg extra stenght pills a day. So you can probably take more. And yes before and after your shot when the aches and pains are worse is the best time. See the article below for details or Google it for yourself.
2105146 tn?1334593783 I have read, heard, been told that Tylenol (acetominophen) can cause harm to the liver, yet on this forum I have seen many recommendations to take Tylenol. I am curious as to why Tylenol would be recommended when there are other things to take. My friend, who died of HepC/liver cancer, was told NOT to take Tylenol and to stick to ibuprofen. I prefer good old aspirin.
Avatar f tn The only other idea that it could be is a late reaction to the hormones that the Nuvaring was putting into your system? If you can take Tylenol, or some kind of anti-inflammatory meds, (like Advil or Ibuprofen) to help with the back pain. ( I work at a Physical Therapy office, that's why I suggest the anti-inflammatory meds.) Hope you feel better soon!
1844403 tn?1319049472 I did call my RE and they said no ibuprofen. They said it can mess with ovulation. Only tylenol for this girl!
