Avatar n tn I have no idea what to do and though I have only been off the Synthroid for 4 days, the side effects have not abated. Anybody have any thing to say to help me understand what is going on? I'm so upset and exhausted from lack of sleep....I was feeling FINE before Synthroid!!!
Avatar f tn Has anyone had high blood pressure while taking Synthroid and Levothyroxine? I am hypo and I was given .50 Levothyroxine and I started filling shaky and light headed, I had trouble breathing and felt pressure in my chest, stomach cramps, headaches, and high blood pressure so my doctor told me to stop taking them and referred me to an endo who put me on .
646105 tn?1223653476 after three months. They switched me Synthroid which also produces high blood pressure and a rash. We are currently attempting to wean me off Synthroid and I want to try KELP (iodine) and after a bit introduce L-tyrosine which promotes the production of T3 while the iodine is more T4 related. I am tracking my own blood pressure three times a day and I watch my blood pressure spike about 2-3 hours after taking the Synthroid and go to normal/low by late in the day.
Avatar m tn Hyperthyroidism is a cause of high blood pressure and high pulse pressure. Pulse pressure is the difference between the systolic and diastolic pressure readings and is normally around 40mmHg. Eg: 120/80 = 40. Your pulse pressure for your reading of 163/94 = 69 mmHg.
Avatar f tn this is a sign of heart failure or extremely high or low blood pressure...plz dont hesitate and go!
197575 tn?1215532624 I looked at my labs from my preop. EKG and my blood pressure was 110/70 which is usually my normal pressure. More medicine. Yay!
Avatar m tn m sure you have an idea of what they are, I was put on Propranolol 20 mg for high blood pressure but have done research and found that a low thyroid function can cause high blood pressure that is hard to regulate with medication. Explain to me high TSH and if medication dosage needs to be raised or lowered, and also is Levoxil a good medication or would synthroid be better, I have taken both and thought that sythroid helped more than levoxil.
Avatar n tn I did not have blood pressure problems until I started taking Synthroid. I think the high blood pressure is caused by the thyroid meds and the fact that conventional doctors to not address the autoimmune aspect of thyroid disease.
Avatar f tn You have a lot of variables going on. Your blood pressure must run high overall? One reading wouldn't necessarily mean it's high. I was offered Lisinopril, I thought it was for high blood pressure, while I was hospitalized for a-fib last fall. I was already on an anti-arrythmic and a beta blocker and a couple of other unrelated drugs. Anyway they offered me Liprinosil and I declined to add yet another drug. My cholestersol is about the same as yours and I'm on crestor for that.
Avatar m tn t have side effects on diabetes its a beta blocker and it treats high blood pressure and it helps people to that have problems with there heart and as well it prevents blood clots
Avatar n tn t know much about heart disease or high blood pressure but let me tell you a couple things I know about this medication. Lisinopril is used to control high blood pressure and water retention. Too strong of a dosage can cause diarrhea which can cause potassium to drop low. Losartan - potassium (Cozarr) is used to control hypertension and might be a better fit for your daughters condition as the side effects are similar. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Just a guess and a thought...angina can be a side effect of Synthroid (or any other brand or generic levo). Google "synthroid + angina" if you'd like to read up and see if that seems to be what you're experiencing. Do you know your FT3, FT4 and TSH levels? And the FT3 and FT4 reference ranges? If you're slightly overmedicated (as defined by FT3, NOT TSH), it could be causing this.
Avatar m tn can drinking grape fruit juice effect a person taking high blood pressure medication
Avatar m tn I think you should go back to your doctor and tell him that the medication you are taking is not agreeing with you. There are so many different kinds of high blood pressure medications that surely he can find one that agrees with you. Also, did he tell you that you can control your blood pressure by diet and exercise? There is no reason for you to feel this way when there are so many medicines for your problem.
Avatar m tn I understand the unpleasant side effects are common reactions to T4 meds, although many people take longer than 3 days to feel them. What I'm wanting to know is: Is it likely that I'll adjust to the dosage and the side effects will lessen? Or is it a possible sign that I've got too high a dose? Based on what I've read here, and in the fine print from the Levoxyl package, it seems likely it might be transitory.
1260320 tn?1270394906 Benicar keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. Benicar HCT has a diuretic included as well. I have been fortunate, Benicar has worked from the first day I took it and works well still today. My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!
Avatar f tn This past summer I went from 100mcg to 125mcg even though my TSH level was a 3. something. At the time I wasn't aware of the dangers of increasing thyroid medicine and asked for the increase because I was trying to lose weight. A few weeks later at my next appointment I was experiencing dizzy spells, light-headedness, generally feeling unwell, and my BP was 139/80.
Avatar f tn Bupropion can cause pounding of heart and palpitations. It usually does not cause high blood pressure. If the high blood pressure is drug related, it will come down in 2-3 days. If the high BP persists, please get this investigated, monitored and treated. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar m tn ve never had a reason to monitor my blood pressure, but I looked up the side-effects of Symbicort and it says changes in blood pressure can occur. There was also a warning to use caution in patients who have severe high blood pressure. As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between Symbicort and blood pressure medicines. If you're concerned about how high your blood pressure gets after taking Symbicort, I'd talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn Hi, I started taking Synthroid .075mg last weekend (Sunday),.
1295419 tn?1276822872 Lexapro carries under it's side effects hyPERtension, (high blood pressure) postural hyPOtension, (lowered BP upon changing positions, usually sitting to standing) and tachycardia. If you have only noticed these changes since beginning the Lexapro, I would certainly bring them to the attention of your doctor. They may very well stop when your body adjusts to the meds, but it never hurts to play it safe.
Avatar f tn I was having bad side effects from synthroid such as headache, palpatations, high blood pressure, dizziness, nausea.. so i wnt off the med until my dr could switch me to something else.
