synthroid

Avatar m tn i was taking it in the morning and by night when I would try to go to sleep I was so wired! I would stay up half the night and be even more tired in the morning. So I started taking at night so by morning I have a little more energy and am now ble to sleep at night.
Avatar f tn Is it due to the fact that milk has protein that one should avoid it in coffee in the morning? And if so what about protein for the rest of the day? Do you know if there also is a limit then on protein in breakfast itself? This is something my doctor has not talked to me about? I too wonder about any protein? Since I take synthroid, do you know how that works,? You said it is a good idea to take all vitamins 4 hrs. after taking synthroid, could this be the same with protein?
Avatar n tn However, the depression is still here, I still get tired, and my toes and fingers get uncontrollably cold lately. I also started getting slightly sick in the morning about an hour after taking the Synthroid. My last blood test showed TSH of 0.1mIU/L. I really would like to get normal blood levels as my husband and I were hoping to start a family and we were told that only when all is stabilized it is safe for me to get pregnant. What would you recommend for the next step?
533063 tn?1262366101 50 mcg, next two months) in the morning, as I wake up with water. About 15 - 20 minutes after taking my meds, I've started noticing (within the last month & a half) that I get a dull pain in the area of my left breast - it feels like it's almost IN my breast, or just below it. I used to get pretty nasty heart burn a few years ago, but have leveled out my diet & exercise and usually do not get heart burn anymore. My question is this: is this heartburn?
Avatar f tn You could try keeping your Synthroid at night and moving your Cytomel in the later part of the morning. I guess around 11 am. What time at night are you taking it? Another thought could be your adrenals are tired. If you were/are hypoT for a long time - the adreanls are forced to work very hard to try and keep up with the imbalance. They eventually will become off too. The symptoms you describe are very common in fatigue of the adrenals.
1129232 tn?1360800358 If I wake up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night, I am basically still half asleep and would end up taking wrong dose lol....so I dont bother with night thing. Good idea though if you are fully awake.
407745 tn?1230850087 Now I am back to feeling exhausted all the time, espechially hard to get up in the morning. I have a headache in the am when I get up and can barely get going.
Avatar m tn The e on the end of the word has been driving me crazy, but after a half hour of Googling, I'd have to say yes. Levothyroxin is not listed in the pharmacuidical referrences I have looked at, except for a German one. Levothyroxine is listed as the generic form of Synthroid, Levoxyl, etc. The missing e on the end may be a typo or may be how a particular manufacturer markets their generic Levothyroxine.
Avatar m tn 005 uIU/mL , that was before dropping the Armour and lowering the Synthroid. In December it changed to 0.209 uIU/mL. I am so tired of being tired and not having enegy, and just don't know who to turn to at this point. It seems everyone only looks at the TSH levels and won't really look further. Thank you for any advise you can offer!!
2121656 tn?1395674749 m really suffering with this heartburn. I will start taking in with my synthroid in the am, instead of waking up at 4am just to take a pill. What a pita, lol! I will try this tomorrow. :) Have a good evening.
Avatar f tn Good luck and always make sure that your doctor is checking your FREE T3 as well as the free t4 and TSH. This is because the synthetic t4 Synthroid must convert to the active t3 within your body. Many doctors who prescribe SYNTHROID ONLY, just assume this conversion is happening, but never check the freet3 levels to see for sure. The free t3 is the hormone that is available for the proper function of the body.
Avatar f tn I made a couple of comments on another thread that you had posted on. I'm sorry to say that I think your doctor doesn't know what he's doing. Adding T4 to an FT4 that is already at the top of the range is only going to increase it even further. This makes no sense at all. 25 mcg Cytomel is roughly equivalent to 100 mcg Synthroid. So, your dose is now the equivalent of 125 mcg Synthroid higher than it was when you were on 50 mcg Synthroid only. That is a HUGE increase.
Avatar f tn Just got new script for Synthroid combined with Cytomel and my Endo wants me to take the Synthroid and half the dose of the Cytomel in the morning and the rest of the Cytomel in the evening. My question is if there is anyone who has a similar script, do you take the evening dose before bed or before dinner? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have elevated cortisol in the morning and cannot sleep at night. any suggestions? my dr gave me thyroid medication that I took for the past 2 and half years. that causes my feet to become red and iron defiency.
149081 tn?1242397832 I am on Provigil 200mg twice daily. I take one in the morning then one more at 1pm that way I can make it through a day of work. I also as on Synthroid for hypothyroidism.
179856 tn?1333547362 Hey NY, I've been on Synthroid for years and I was always told to make sure to take it at least 1/2 hour prior to or several hours after eating.
Avatar n tn Could 200 mcg in the evening on Sun. that greatly affect the tsh in the morning? I was so happy and confused about the sudden drop and then I realized the synthroid had to be the reason. In addition, I believe I''ve suffered high cortisol levels from stress for a long time and am beginning to see possibly some autoimmune effects on my organs because my kidney function is insufficient I found out this year.
Avatar f tn All I can do is try to get in and which I did one day and had the same reaction with a high poles waking me up in the morning when I was still on the Synthroid and just starting out on it 10 days as I mentioned earlier. I was 1 million times it was something else and I could just fix that not even have to deal with these medications or something as easy as supplementing stress due to a Cortisol level but as I was told all I can do is just try to take it again.
Avatar f tn But he called in Levoxyl instead of Synthroid UGHHH.. i JUST switiched to Synthroid 2 months ago.. Should i just go with the Levoxyl??
Avatar m tn Yes, you can take both your Synthroid and Nexium together in the morning an hour before breakfast. That is the best way to take them both.
Avatar n tn I now take 200mg once in the morning and once in the evening. What kind of foods should I avoid so I can have better absorbtion. I've read that fiber can be an issue. Thank you. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/264545'>Thyroglobulin Level</a>.
1401696 tn?1280838616 And what seems to help me is breaking the dose in 2 morning and early afternoon You may feel you dont need the synthroid anymore once you are stable and your labs look good. keep me posted goodluck.
Avatar n tn I took the Centrum late at night with dinner (to avoid interference with the levo in the morning). The Centrum gave me chest pains and other discomfort. So, I stopped taking the Centrum. After I stopped taking the Centrum (and during the last few weeks of this 8-week period), my hypothyroidism symptoms came back (soreness in arms and legs, other symptoms). After that 8-week period of 125-mcg levo, my blood test was as follows: TSH = 1.919, and Free T4 = 1.
Avatar n tn No, you can have liquid, (of course a beer first thing in the morning doesn't count!!!) but not food. The Synthroid will attach to the food and be digested, the liquid in your tummy is digested but also is not digested in the same way as food. It is preferable to wait but it is more the food which is the problem.
Avatar m tn I have always taken Synthyroid in the morning. Has anyone ever taken it at night with better results?
