synthroid

2121656 tn?1395674749 I started taking 25 mgs. of synthroid on Sept. 4th, and right away I've had relieve from a lot of my symptoms, including indigestion & heartburn. Probably is the placebo effect. Either way I'm still symptom free except for the heartburn, that's actually worse than before taking synthroid. I am having it all day. Therefore, I'm not sure if the synthroid is the cause or if it may be caused from me drinking my morning coffee without taking the protonix.
822804 tn?1298226302 Fantastic information and worth looking into, as my daughter and I are both hypo and have GERD! I hate using a PPI b/c our bodies need the acid to break down food. I know most doctors won't touch the stuff, even though they prescribe it! I researched d-Limonene. (For those doing the same, be sure to use reputable sites to get your info. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18072821 is a government site was just one I found that wasn't a .

Avatar m tn s crazy is after several weeks on Tirosint I no longer needed gerd meds and my nose stopped running while I was eating. A Walgreen pharmacist told me she also didn't need gerd meds. I checked Canada Drugs but it is not available. I started on Synthroid this morning.
Avatar m tn You can switch this around but avoid taking vitamins with synthroid (calcium and iron can interfer with thyroxine absorption) and metformin (can inhibit the absorption of vitamin B12).
Avatar n tn I am a 55yo female and have had gerd for many years, Had an endoscopy last year with sl esophagitis at lower end near stomach. I continue to have symptoms especially at night. Have been on multiple ppi's.Have been on prevacid 30mg daily recently without effect on night time acid. Saw GI MD 3 days ago who put me on prevacid 30mg 2x a day and pepcid 40mg at bed time for 6 weeks. Does this sound reasonable? I get concerned re the medications and side effects. Would there be any by taking both?
Avatar f tn Could I get some help with my results and dosage of Synthroid? (I had Graves in 1993 and missed to check my blood months ago so I went into the hypo zone with TSH =52 in May). here my current situation: 8/4/2010 - TSH = 4.62 (I was recommended .125 Synthroid) 8/30/2010 TSH = 0.33 (moved to .112 mg Synthroid) 9/14/2010 TSH = 0.358 (moved to .100 mg Synthroid) Does it seem ok to you to land me in the right range?
Avatar n tn t go away, hoarsness at times, the feeling of being strangled, earaches, sore throat. I feel hyper in the morning and qite exhausted at night. Also I have neck pain and swollen tissue surrounding the area. Maybe this sounds serious but could I just have a serious infection and that the hyper thyroidism needs to be treated with synthroid?. 532065 tn?1213149801 I have tried everything standard medicine has dished out mostly, “ Take this for the rest of your life, , lose your hair and nail strength, and pick up IBS and/or GERD on the side, or holistic, chiropractic, and natural foods, herbs, vitamins, minerals, a food diet that consists of Greek yogurt, dry crackers mostly wheat free, nut bars (only peanuts, walnuts or almonds), cheerios (on a good day) or organic brn rice or oats. Does ANYONE out there have similar experiences?
Avatar f tn They did do Celiac and every other gastro test. About a year ago, the bad GERD and heartburn started. The worst was this spring when my D was low and I felt like I'd been hit by a train. That has been much better since Synthroid. I have read that the GERD and heartburn come from delayed emptying of the stomach. This naughty thyroid wreaks so much havoc on our bodies!
Avatar n tn t breath and I am choking and coughing all the time. I stopped taking the synthroid just to see if it would relieve the gerd and although I feel like crap with no energy and weight gain I have not had any gerd symptoms since. I know I have to get back on the medication soon I just wanted to see for myself it was related to my gerd problem.
393685 tn?1425812522 Its links to severe food allergies. I get chest pain, trouble breathing, and GERD from it. When discussing my EE with others who have eosinophilic disorders, I found that several people with EE or another form of the disorder also had thyroid problems. I don't think a solid study has ever been done on the relationship between thyroid and stomach problems, but my guess is that thyroid probs and stomach probs are very closely related.
Avatar m tn The doctor gave me the medicine also but I could not bring it to US from India. No I do not take any medicine for GERD. I take metformin for diabetes and synthroid for thyroid. Thanks, Sanjay.
Avatar m tn Have since been diagnosed with Adult asthma (tried every inhaler on the market with no relief in the breathing) and GERD (no medication has helped) and had my esophagus stretched. Also, tested for allergies and showed strong allergy to yeast and mold (now getting allergy shots with no relief). Keep in mind I am 40 yrs old, 5'8" and weigh 110 lbs.Otherrwise healthy, except for the breathing and throat discomfort.

1139187 tn?1355706647 Years ago I never had that on synthroid, but was on way less med too. But for me synthroid= a lot of body pain, gerd, carple tunnel ect, no matter what the level of med. We are all different.
561964 tn?1283798616 since my surgery and starting on synthroid ( been over 2 mos now) I have had such bad acid reflux ( I have to take Tagamet almost every night just to sleep) and loads of burping. Anyone else?
Avatar n tn I only have GERD when I take thyroid hormones or even supplements that support the thyroid. It is very strange and frustrating. I can't seem to take any medication. I have tried several types and also tried taking reflux meds at night but the reflux is so severe that they don't work. I went off the thyroid meds and reflux disappeared, but I can hardly function from fatigue, brain fog, muscle aches. Any insights appreciated. Thanks.
