Synthroid and fatigue

Common Questions and Answers about Synthroid and fatigue

synthroid

Avatar n tn About 2 weeks later I saw my GP complaining about the symptoms and she decreased the synthroid to 75mcg based on my TSH of 0.1000. One week later my TSH was 0.666. Prior to the second scan I'm not sure if my dosage was 100mcg or 125mcg. I don't have all the records in front of me. Sorry. I know this must be confusing for you. It's confusing for me!!!
Avatar f tn hair loss, fatigue and body aches. Increased Synthroid to 88mcg and it helped, but the hair loss continued and after a couple of months I started getting episodes of fast heart beat (about 88 bpm.) This may not seem that fast, but my normal HR is in the 50s. Went to doc & my labs looked better than they ever have...TSH suppressed, FT4 mid-range, and FT3 also mid-range (this ideally should be a bit higher, but it was better than any previous lab.
Avatar f tn The first week I felt much better but started swelling again and had terrible fatigue. Went back about two weeks later and he changed me to synthroid 150mgs. The swelling got a little better but still fatigued and joint pain is always there. I went to my gyno for yearly exam two weeks ago and they tested my TSH. it was .05 so gyno lowered synthroid to 125 mg and told me to come back in eight weeks. I'm feeling terrible again..
Avatar f tn I was orginally diagnosed and treated as hypothyroid with Hashimotos. Was orginially on 25mcg of synthroid and 5mcg of Cytomel. Had to increase it to 88mcg Synthroid and 5mcg Cytomel twice a day. That was great for about four months but then started feeling bad again. Thus the recent visit to endo. She now has me taking more Cytomel as needed. Twice in the morning (5mcg each spaced out which is a real challenge with eating) and my usual 5mcg in the afternoon. Does that sound right?
Avatar n tn I started taking synthroid on May 2 and was suppose to have a period around the 19th of May but never did and here it is June 9th. The strange thing is that periodically I feel like I am going to start, (symptoms that I usually get before I do) but I guess I just wish I knew if this was normal or not.
Avatar m tn Your depression may not warrant Prozac - it may only need adequate thyroid hormones, vitamins and minerals. Prozac does tend to cause tiredness and when one already had fatigue the last thing you want is a medication that exacerbates the issue. I think you should ask to have testing done to make sure your pituitary gland is working properly... since you already know you have low testosterone and hypothyroidism.. testing for diabetes will take of that part.
1139187 tn?1355706647 I have a mild background fatigue, but the majority of the fatigue hits me earlier in the day and then leaves. I have heard others have this but it goes away. I know i am being premature, IM thinking it will take about 8 months to see if this works, but im just trying to think hopeful for the future. I started this new dose of 125 about 2 weeks ago, and im going to get tested on May 8 just to see how im doing.
Avatar m tn Has anyone with Hashi and adrenal fatigue and been fully recover from that? Is posible the full recover? Im still waiting the recovery.
Avatar n tn My TSH level is .07 and my Free T4 is 1.61. I'm currently taking 112 mcg Synthroid daily and my endo wants me to reduce it to just 6 days a week since he says my TSH is too low. I asked if this is why I feel so fatigued and he said no. I am three years post TT for thyroid cancer. Any thoughts? I have zero faith in the medical community.
Avatar m tn The bad, excessive sweating stopped!!! Was a happy woman. 6 months later DR tested and wanted me back on Synthroid, and I said only the lowest dose I will try. Its only been 3 days on 25mg/1 a day and I'm sweating again!!! I just can't understand how one low dose pill can be so damaging to me....
Avatar n tn Hi I am wondering if all my health issues are related to the adrenals, because my thyroid antibiodies came back normal but my Doc started me on syn and cytomel because my labs showed that I was hypothyroid?? I was wondering if anyone new which supplements I should take on the side that would help with adrenals in the case that this is the underlying reason?? Without effecting my present meds? I know B complex and Vit C, but how much on a daily basis?
89559 tn?1234880265 Back in 2004 I was diagnosed with low stage follicular variant papillary carcinoma and had a total thyroidectomy with central neck dissection. Since then with either generic form or the present synthroid 150 mcg I've been suffering with a sore tongue and a bitter taste in my mouth. (A white coating as well) The doc gave me penicillian back in Jan and it seemed to clear up for about 2 wks and now it's back again.
Avatar f tn 0 and TT4 around 4.5). Each SAT occurance, my iodine uptake was initially zero and TPO and thyroglobulin antibodies negative. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 2 years ago with Dexascan results having Z-scores slightly below -2.5. Recently I have been experiencing vague symptoms (fatigue, dry skin and hair, brain fog, etc.) that I attributed to recent menopause but my thyroid tests revealed the following: TSH = 4.24 (0.34-5.60) FT4 = 0.64 (0.62-1.12) TT4 = 3.9 (4.5-12.
1078252 tn?1255917884 I had a TT 10/1 and did pretty well other than feeling miserable in the hospital and the first few days home. I started on 112 Synthroid and had some fatigue but made it through the day even when my husband went out of town for work 10 days after my surgery. At my appt with my actual endo (her partner saw me in the hospital) I mentioned the fatigue and she raised me to 150.
2180858 tn?1337716153 I have Hashimoto's and Adrenal Fatigue and I'm 8 weeks pregnant. Apparently I can't take Cortef while I'm pregnant with it being a steroid, but I have to take Synthroid now. What I don't get is if you're adrenal issues are not under control you should not take thyroid medication, with the exception of being pregnant? Has anyone else ever dealt with this? I feel like the Synthroid is making me even more tired if that's possible.
Avatar f tn That said, I have been reading a lot about adrenal fatigue and have many of the symptoms involved and wondered if anyone who was deemed in "normal" range still had the same symptoms of hypothyroid (Hashi's) - and ended up with adrenal fatigue .....experiences, tests for, treatment. I am not sure what to do next if the Cytomel doesn't help.
Avatar n tn I tested positive for antibodies in 1999, but at that time my TSH, T3 and T4 were normal. In 2004, my TSH was elevated and I was started on Synthroid 50 mcg. I also had an ultrasound at that time which was normal other than the thyroid gland was at the upper limits of normal size. The past few months I have been experiencing symptoms of anxiety, panic attacks, palpitations, tachycardia, and sweating along with a feeling of fullness in my neck and some minor discomfort.
Avatar n tn So I tried the generic version ( which is only available in my country) of levothyroxine ( eltroxin). On the fist day brain fog and fatigue were lifted but later on brain fog and fatigue became more severe. Anyway I have ordered cytomel and I am waiting for its arrival. I dont know whether synthroid can make you more fatigue . But you can try taking cytomel alone for a while for a change. Its only a suggestion.
Avatar f tn I have episodes of nausea, dizziness, headaches, joint aches, fatigue and dry skin! I have continued working, but some days I have to come home in the afternoon due to dizziness and nausea along with brain fog! I have good days and then I will just crash for no reason! I will keep you updated on how I feel! Some people do fine and don't feel much of anything. I hope you are one of the lucky ones that feels ok during this period!
Avatar f tn t like making any changes to the Synthroid dose. I have heard of taking both and having an increase in energy and a gradual weight-loss as well. I also suffer from adrenal fatigue(overproduction of cortisol).
Avatar n tn He was started on a form of Synthroid and in two weeks, he was a new dog--lots of thick hair, lots of energy and lost weight! I also take Synthroid--in fact we take it together every morning! I am taking his medication to MY doctor and asking for the same so I can lose weight, have tons of energy, and have a beautiful head of hair! Have a fine day!
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed with prednisone for Lupus and synthroid for hypothyroidism. But I still deal with uncommon fatigue every day and sleep over 10 hours every night. any thoughts??
Avatar f tn 96 (high) and I was placed on .50 mcg of synthroid. My latest test showed my TSH was still high at 4.81 and my synthroid was increased to .75mcg. Stg088 was correct in pointing out that hair loss is a sign of hypothyroidism. Some other signs are dry skin, fatigue, extra sensitive to cold, depression constipation. Luckily, I'm asymptomatic. Wish I could be more sensitive to cold, I'm always flushed and burning up. Good luck with this issue. Congratulations on being undected!
