Avatar m tn I have been treated by a chiropractor recently and he says my headaches shouldnt be caused by the bulging disc and that I am probably experiencing tension headaches since my headache is where the base of the skull meets the neck on the right side of my head. Does anyone know if this sounds like tension headaches or are they another kind?

Primary headaches are common and may include migraine, tension and cluster headaches. Migraines usually present with one-sided throbbing headache while stress related or tension headaches are dull in character. If there is history of trauma and eye problem, you may need to have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper diagnosis.
Avatar n tn We have seen all kind of specialist and they think she does not have migraines but other type of headaches, like muscular-tension type headaches. But against all kinds of medicines, her headache does not nudge. It seems to get worse with medicine. She had a CT scan and an MRI and we found out that she also has a benign cyst in her had that was probable formed in uteri. Docs do not think it is causing headache because there is no pressure on her brain.

The causes of Scalp tenderness are Migraine, Tension headaches, Cellulitis, Cervical myelopathy, Contact dermatitis, Malignancy, Scalp injury , Squamous cell carcinoma, Brain tumour and basal cell carcinoma. So scalp tenderness may also be associated with the tension headaches. Please go for an MRI of brain and spine to rule out other possibilities.
Avatar f tn But like i was saying i was reading how sometimes bleeding can take weeks to show, but can ct scans detect blood clots in the brain before they burst causing a bleeding? Ive also had bad tension headaches. Its a squeezing, pressure feeling in the top of my head, around my temples. Along with burning feeling occasional. Ive had these headaches everyday since this happened from the moment i wake up to when i go to sleep. Have took tylenol doesnt help.

Although it is more common in women, tension-type headache can affect anyone who sustains the same or incorrect body position for lengthy periods, or individuals prone to anxiety or stress. So, if the original headache was caused by stress, the headache now might be a "rebound" headache caused by the Tyenol. The best way to stop a rebound headache is to stop taking the pain killer. If you are in pain though, and you have been taking a lot of tyenol, then stopping would be very painful! So, it is better to stop slowly...
