Avatar n tn Although it’s not known for sure whether benign ovarian cysts or polycystic ovaries develop into ovarian cancer, the vast majority of ovarian cysts appear to be unrelated. Women who have polycystic ovaries or ovarian cancer seldom have obvious symptoms early on. However, in both disorders, symptoms are noticed as the condition progresses. Because the ovaries are affected on both disorders, the some of the symptoms can be similar.
600910 tn?1219728369 The symptoms of ovarian cancer are bloating, feeling of fullness, change in bowel habits, fatigue, heartburn. The pain could be cysts bursting. It is very normal for cysts to form on your ovaries at different times in your cycle and sometimes those cysts burst causing a lot of pain. As far as I know, there must be tumors of some sort in order to have OvCa...if there was a cyst in the CT Scan and gone in the sono that the cyst burst or went away.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
Avatar n tn Benign dermoid ovarian cysts uncommonly cause symptoms in young girls. It is estimated that they constitute 0.35% of all tumors occurring in children of both sexes less than 15 years of age. Symptoms produced by the cysts may mimic other intra-abdominal disease, and in three of the four cases reported in this series the girls were initially considered to have either acute appendicitis or infection of the urinary tract. All three had a pelvic mass palpable per rectum.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Knowing this I asked her again about her symptoms, and she has all the symptoms of ovarian cancer and has had them for a little while before they found the DVT. If anyone has any ideas on what kind of tests she should ask to have run, or just any ideas at all for that matter I would really appreciate the help. Thank You. I also think it is important to mention that the E.R. doctor she saw a year ago was very worried. He told her where there is smoke there is fire.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar n tn 99% of ovarian cysts, masses, and tumors are benign. The symptoms for cancer are the same for benign cysts, too.
Avatar n tn I have alot of the symptoms of ovarian cancer. pelvic pain. low back pain, fullness in my abdomen...I had a CT scan done at the E.R. a couple of weeks ago but it didn't show any masses or anything. Would it have definately show something or are there other tests that are more definate at diagnosing...
Avatar n tn It came elevated, but from what I have found out (talked to doctors, in the net and from the ladies in this forum and the ovarian cyst forum) is that 95% of the times they are benign in premenopausal women. Also, the symptoms that you describe can confuse women into thinking that they have UTIs or IBS. I am sure other ladies here can give you more info.
Avatar n tn Follicles are a normal part of ovulation. You don't have any info in your profile. How old are you? What symptoms are you having? What tests have you had? Sorry but we need more information in order to help you out here.
1872158 tn?1320302628 There are some solutions to it, doctors say for females the cysts occur because of our monthly cycle, its never too late to take birth control which is one of the solutions to cysts but it all depends on the person. Cysts can be harmless unless the are reacurring, when it reacures often, you might be at risk for ovarian cancer. Only do the operation IF NECASSARY!!! The medication the doctor is offering would possibly help but if there are a lot of side effects I suggest not taking it.
Avatar n tn I'm 33 years old. I had precancerous cells on cervic at 18 years old. I found out my biological mother had hysterectomy in early 40's from ovarian cysts (I think, I have no contact with my biological mom). I'm very athletic and have been on birth control since I was 18 yrs old. I have no kids and all paps/exams are normal. However, in the past 6 months I have gained approximately 12 lbs and is concentrated in abdominal area (I normally gain weight in my legs and butt).
Avatar n tn I hear that ovarian cysts have the same symptoms as pregnancy. Anyone have experience with them and can tell the difference?
Avatar f tn Did not have cysts before that I am aware of in the pathology reports - just lesions that were removed by an endo specialist who cut them out. Was endo free /symptom free after having surgery with the specialist a few years ago. My grandmother died of ovarian cancer when she was in her 70's.
Avatar m tn Hello, My case can look rather particular in fact it is the second time in ten years that I have to undergo surgery due to ovarian cysts ruptures on my right ovary and every time the doctors in ER first think of an acute appendicitis which make them run a quantity of useless tests while I am in pain and makes me even more doubtful and worried.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me i had sciatica in my left leg, and that it would go after 3 or 4 weeks on its own, but it hasnt, and im starting to think my symptoms are maybe that of a cyst/cysts on my ovary. I had the Depo-Provera contraception injection in january, and since that, my symptoms have become alot worse, and ive suffered with persistent bloating and weight gain. But im still unsure as this could be water retention due to the injection.
Avatar n tn You want a transvaginal ultrasound and a CA-125 bloodtest to rule out ovarian cancer. I know nothing about ovarian cysts, but they are much more plentiful than ovarian cancers -- and almost always benign -- so try to "think positive." If, after examination, your gynecologist suggests that surgery might be in order (even for cysts), please be sure you get a gynecological oncologist (who will have several years more training and is a specialist in gyn surgery) for the surgery.
Avatar f tn before your lap procedure did he do ultrasounds and find anything? Your symptoms sound like classic ovarian cyst symptoms. seems like it would have been typical to do ultrasounds prior to cutting?
Avatar n tn I've had a few ovarian cysts in the past 7 years. I was just wondering if they can affect my chances of getting pregnant?
Avatar n tn Please arrange for a transvaginal ultrasound and insist that your doctor rule out ovarian cancer but do keep in mind that over 95% of all cysts are benign. Feel free to join us on the ovarian cyst forum for support.
