I had a horrid cold and it turned into a nasty dry hacking cough that lasted months s doc has said a reactive asthma has developed from it all--out me on the advair diskus,,however--i also get ectopic heart beats ,anxiety and episodes of heart pounding--so i have 2 questions 1--can the only symptom of asthma be this cough and tight chest 2-is it safe to take advair as right after my 4 th ever does tonight i got forceful heart thudding and anxious -so far 30 in dunno if it is the med or me

I have an expired Advair Diskus. Has anyone used theirs past the expiration date? If so, how far past the date, and what was the result?

I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?

I was using the diskus, but I always had thrush. My nurse practitioner changed me to the newer Advair which is in the more typical inhaler form. The thrush has only been back once! Fall is always hard for me, and right on schedule I am congested and wheezy!

I use the Advair Diskus 250/50 every 12 hours. My job requires that I talk. It has become difficult to talk with the use of the Diskus. If I stop using it a few days my voice comes back. My Doctor told me to gargle, which I do when I rinse my mouth. I have also tried using biotene moisturizing mouth spray as well as the cream. Nothing seems to help. My employer is always asking when this is going to change. I want my voice back. Do you have any suggestions.

He actually switched me from advair to symbicort, and from albuterol to xopenex. 24 weeks now and my little girl is doing just fine. They do need us to give them oxygen, so take your meds if you need to.

I am using combivent(4x a day ) and serevent diskus 50mcg 2x for my moderate severe copd, I have just started Flovent 50mcg inhaler. Is this OK or should I cutdown on the combivent ?

One idea is to google - possible side effects of Advair. Possible side effects of Symbicort. See if one of the side effects of either Advair or Symbicort is pain between the shoulder blades. Based on what you find out, I would have a conversation with your doctor. Only a suggestion. I'm sure there are other asthma medications besides Advair and Symbicort which may be a better match for you. Good luck.

it seems like advair is making my asthma worse. i started taking advair like 7 month ago and it seemed like for the first few months it was working but i had to become dependant on it everyday or else i would start weezing nonstop. after that my weezing was worst than ever and i started noticing that after i used advair my weezing was much worse. i saw this thread yesterday and now for a day and a half i havent used it and i feel alot better.

I almost died from an asthma attack last weekend. I had emergency heart surgery in June and have been having arrhythmias so I'm on a heart monitor for this month. i got put on pulmicort and foradil that did wonders for me and last month i got put on symbicort which is a combo of the pulmicort and foradil. Maybe symbicort would not cause you these symptoms?

Because of serious side of effects of both Advair and an inhaled steroid that did not contain salmeterol, I now rely solely on a nebulizer and an antihistamine. was scripted Advair Diskus q.12h. for the SOB (shortness of breath) symptoms even though already had been taking occasional Primatene tablets and albuterol inhaler for seasonal hayfever and allergy symptoms of SOB which worked quite well). Had a nightmare the very first night - have not had nightmares in decades (with the exception of Bushbaby in the White House but that is a real life nightmare). Also became easily agitated, restless and quick to anger.
