Symbicort and sore throat

Common Questions and Answers about Symbicort and sore throat

symbicort

Avatar n tn My husband is using Symbicort and now has a very sore throat. He told me that once or twice he has forgotten to rinse is mouth out with water. I also found out that he does not use it every 12 hours, he is using it twice a day but maybe about 9 hours apart. I am wondering if his sore throat is caused by the Symbicort and what can I do for it, I am giving him throat lozenges and pop sickles. This has been going on for about 4 days now and he has been on the Symbicort since July 7th.
1511949 tn?1290193751 omg. thanks for mentioning symbicort. i started symbicort a while ago, and my throat clearing has gotten worse. my doctor has put me on nexium to dry up things, but i stopped taking it - just felt i didnt need it at the time. i may need to go back on the nexium or find out if the omnezaprole will work too.

Avatar f tn Sorry in advance but this will be a long post. Im 23 yrs old, f. Diagnosed of asthma since i was a child. I could have no asthma attack for months but when i do it is worse. Im not currently taking any maintenance before this started. Ive had an asthma flare up last month (March 2016) due to sore throat and cold. I've went to see my doctor and he prescribed me Symbicort, Albuterol neb and Z pack. Usually, this medicine combination would work for me but this time it doesn't.
Avatar m tn I know that I had a sore throat and cough, the latter gradually increasing in intensity and dryness). Now, supposedly recovering from whatever it was I got, I started having this peppery sensation in my lungs and more dry cough that wakes me up at night. Of course, my GP suggested that I take antihestamines for a while. Hayfever got to me after all. However, I really can't stand jumping out of bed EVERY NIGHT for the last 3 days, coughing and gasping for air.
Avatar f tn But drinking lot of fluids, sucking lozenges, gargle with salt water, breathing moist air to soothe sore throat, refraining from taking decongestants (because they dry your throat), resting your larynx will help you. Antibiotics and anti inflammatory against prescription will help you. I suggest you to consult ENT specialist. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn i got put on pulmicort and foradil that did wonders for me and last month i got put on symbicort which is a combo of the pulmicort and foradil. Maybe symbicort would not cause you these symptoms?
Avatar n tn t quite sure myself about the Symbicort and blood sugar levels, so I did a little research and here is a link to what I found - it comes directly from the Symbicort website. http://www.mysymbicort.com/asthma/index.aspx?source=20048&WT.
Avatar m tn said i have sinus drip that causes me to cough a lot.Inhaler helped, but now i find i am losing my voice.I had a sore throat for 2 weeks, now my voice is very weak, only whisper, and some flem at back of throat at times. If i talk normal cracky and difficult for 2 weeks now.Sometimes i feel inhaler is causing my voice problems or both? i seem to have had this voice problem, but much less for years but not this bad, especially when i could feel sinus dripping down back of throat.
Avatar f tn If it was just the one time, it could have been irritation from coughing. Was your throat sore at all? I have had this happen a few times myself, especially if my throat is sore or if I have been coughing excessively. If this continues, it wouldn't hurt to run it by your doctor. You could have an infection or something else. He would be able to better assess you and run the appropriate tests if necessary.
Avatar n tn What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Advair for many years now, and I believe it is affecting my vocal chords. I am a singer, and I always have to clear my throat, and am always raspy. Does advair dry out vocal chords? Is there a better option that can help me breathe, but also still sing?
Avatar f tn Finally my doctor diagnosed pneumonia and put me on antibiotics, Avamys and Symbicort. Unfortunately, either the Symbicort or the Avamyst has given me a fungal infection in the throat (and beyond ... it seems to go down quite far). This was not too unexpected as Advair gives me horrible thrush that lasts for months. My question however is, if I stop taking the Symbicort and the Avamys will the thrush go away, or should I go see my doctor to get anti-fungal stuff (i.e. Nystatin)?
Avatar f tn For the last few days I have had a constant cough and now my throat/head/chest is killing me and ive caused a nose bleed from sniffing and blowing my nose -.- but my question is can the constant harsh coughing causing strain on my belly muscles cause any harm to the baby? I dont wanna cause him any harm..
Avatar f tn For a while I've been needing to "sigh" a lot before I talk, because I feel like once I start I'll run out of air. It was a fairly rare thing that I just got made fun of for. It's been happening more recently, and it feels like my throat and chest is restricting. I've been blaming it on allergies and the fact that I'm pretty much always congested.
Avatar n tn Over the last 2 or 3 years, I have gotten cold about once or twice, after the cold symptoms go away (fever, sore throat etc) it has always been followed by a persistant cough. The cough appears about a day or two after cold symptoms end. Doctors initially told me this is called a post nasal drip. I get prescribed cough syrup (which tends to be ineffective). But eventually the cough dissapears over about 2 weeks.
Avatar m tn I had now elevated temperature, sore throat and lymph nodes I started to bat. Today I had the better it took about a week. viraemia (about colds). Please reply with HIV is still a threat to me? Please answer the questions that otherwise might not get rid of;] Thank you. Avatar f tn Since March, I have been getting sick with cold/flu symptoms (fever, aches, congestion, cough, stuffy nose, sore throat, nausea) almost every month. I had a chest x-ray, and it showed nothing. I took antibiotics,, but they did not help. I am seeing an allergist in a few weeks. I started taking Zyrtec a few weeks ago. I take multivitamins daily, and flax oil supplements. I have tried green tea, grape seed extract, zinc and echinacea. I do mild exercise regularly and eat fairly well.
Avatar f tn s always liquids), cracking voice, throat irritation, post nasal drip, throat clearing, difficulty swallowing, sensation of something in throat and worse asthma. I take allergy medications (antihistamines and steroid nasal spray) and haven't had problems with post nasal drip for a while...I was wondering why that's been happening lately. Thanks for the list...I'll take a trip to my doctor.
Avatar m tn ve never had a reason to monitor my blood pressure, but I looked up the side-effects of Symbicort and it says changes in blood pressure can occur. There was also a warning to use caution in patients who have severe high blood pressure. As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between Symbicort and blood pressure medicines. If you're concerned about how high your blood pressure gets after taking Symbicort, I'd talk to your doctor.

5037123 tn?1362663006 Not sure if it was from the Advair I took another dose and the pain got worse. I contacted my doctor and he changed me to Symbicort. I had no problem for 3 days, but after today's dose the back pain is back. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong when inhaling. I believe I'm following the instructions, including rinsing my mouth after using. Is there a pill I can take instead?
Avatar n tn It is lowest when I go to sleep at night and start again badly 40 minutes after I wake up – but it is 24/7. I get sore in my upper lungs and upper back frequently during the day when attempting to get air in. I do not struggle to breathe out (I know what asthma feels like), I struggle to get the air IN, because it feels like there’s a barrier blocking the air from going through my throat (tightens) into my lungs.
