This continued for a while the doctor wasnt concerned and said it should sort itself out, it didnt recently my uvula has swollen and it is touching the back of my tongue.
About 9-10 months ago, I was diagnosed with Strep throat. The doctor that diagnosed me was very concerned about the size of my tonsils, he told me that my uvula was deviated and he was worried about them but since he was from a low cost clinic he knew I couldnt afford to go the ER. So, treated me with strep and the swelling went way down. Every since then, I go through days where I still have trouble with the swelling coming back.
Days 2-10 swollen tonsils with white patches (extremely painful). Now my uvula is swollen and sitting on my tounge. Ok so heres what I have been using to combat this. Gargle with salt water, Drink warm water with honey and lemon, Tylenol for pain (actually works for once), had some fluticasone propionate for nasal congestion (stopped working so switched to afrin) and zinc cough drops.
Ok heres my question, at what time should I be worried and go see a doctor.
Last week on monday I felt light headed and dizzy ended up with a fever for 2 days. That thursday I felt I had strep, with the fever and sore throat seeming so familiar; I went to my Dr. To check it out. No strep, but the next day my uvula swelled up so bad I felt I couldn't breathe. Spent the whole day gargling salt, eating garlic clothes, spoons of honey and tumeric. Didn't sleep till 6 am Saturday when I couldn't stand being up anymore.
So, I initially thought that swollen uvula was due to dehydration and tried to drink and spray it with some antiseptic sprays for around 2 days to no success. I had no appetite and I assume I was running a low grade fever, but it is hard to tell since I have never measured temperature and it was too hot in Thailand to understand if my body temperature was above norm.
So eventually, I went to the doctor who gave me pills named Starclav 500 (which i found out was Amoxicillin and clavunic acid).
I had an outpatient gyn procedure done 4 days ago with post procedure mouth, uvula, and throat soreness. By the evening, my uvula was so long and red, it was gagging me. The area of the throat directly behind the uvula and the right tonsillar pillar was red and sore. Slowly, over the past few days, the uvula has shortened, but still rests on my tongue. The lower third of it is now grayish-white.

I wish I can fast forward 2 months in the future to get the swelling down.
I so understand your position though. What I have heard from others is that it can take months for the uvula to get back into proper psition.

If you are still uncertain then maybe see the ENT who did the surgery to explain things.
I have bumps in my throat behind my uvula, my uvula seems a little red as does the palate around it. Both sides of my throat by the uvula are swollen and I don't know if my tonsils are swollen or not but it looks as if so. There is a bit of white patches on both sides of throat by uvula. Also my tongue is always dry! I don't know exactly what's wrong. Anyone have any idea?
I noticed this white thing at the back of my mouth. It is horizontally center with the uvula but vertically underneath it. It would appear to be like some kind of mass, rather than an ulcer on the back/wall of my mouth as shining a light against it produces a shadow. It also appears to have blood vessels. In the past couple days I have noticed a slight pain when I swallow and can feel something back there.
I have had a sore throat for about 2 weeks, just the last 7 days little pimple on my tounge have appeared (lie bumps) and my uvula looks like it has burst blood vessles and is swollen.
Im a female so its embarrasing.And i know i shouldnt have this problem.Nomatter what i do i still have this issue and the swollen area goes all the way down the back of my throat as far as i can see and its worse on my left side.So ill post some pics up n maybe someone could tell me what this is.Because ive looked in other ppls mouth lol and it didnt look like mine.It kinda almost feels like the back of my throat is closing in.It wasnt always like that though.
I went to the doctors today to get tested for herpes. I have a sore throat, plus 2 bumps on my uvula. Plus a little bit swollen on my lymph nodes. I asked the doctor if that's what it was, was herpes? She said no she didn't see any lesions. But does 2 bumps on the uvula & a sore throat sound like a symtom? I'm freaking out & im scared. :( any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’m 37 yr old Female overweight (obese) for the past 2 years I randomly wake up with a very swollen uvula. Snoring is possible doctors check I don’t have sleep apnea. I hate this more than anything. I want to know how to not let it happen
If I go from obese to closer to my weight will it ease up ?
I try to stay hydrated.
It seems to happen more it I’m overtired

I posted twice earlier, almost before 3 an half month. My concern or worry is regarding the chances of caught up with HIV. I had an unprotected oral sex with a possibly infected sex worker on an Indian Highway. I sucked her nipples for about a minute and had a starnge blood like taste in my mouth, though I didn't see blood, but there was some fluid in my mouth, whaich I didn't swallow.
ve looked at his throat and everything looks good. Nothing swollen. Could this just be from his uvula? Should I take him to an ENT? Our doctor just brushed it off last time I mentioned it. I really don't think it's good for his throat to be coughing and clearing it constantly for so long. He doesn't have a sore throat either but I figure if he keeps it up he will before long. It's starting to really drive the rest of us nuts too. Any ideas?
Hi Miniplus, I am a 27 year old female from Ireland, I recently had a uvulaectomy due to two cysts that were found on my uvula. The uvula was getting swollen at night time and I would wake up in the morning unable to breath and would gag. My GP referred me to an ENT Specialist and they decided to remove my uvula altogether.
