Avatar n tn Your uvula is probably swollen and touching the back of your throat giving the illusion that something is stuck there. Give it time it'll go back to normal.
Avatar m tn This continued for a while the doctor wasnt concerned and said it should sort itself out, it didnt recently my uvula has swollen and it is touching the back of my tongue.
Avatar f tn The roof of my mouth is white, and the uvula is swollen and almost touching the back of my tongue. I feel like I should keep swallowing. Never happened before. No new foods, meds, etc.
Avatar f tn Last week on monday I felt light headed and dizzy ended up with a fever for 2 days. That thursday I felt I had strep, with the fever and sore throat seeming so familiar; I went to my Dr. To check it out. No strep, but the next day my uvula swelled up so bad I felt I couldn't breathe. Spent the whole day gargling salt, eating garlic clothes, spoons of honey and tumeric. Didn't sleep till 6 am Saturday when I couldn't stand being up anymore.
Avatar f tn I have bumps in my throat behind my uvula, my uvula seems a little red as does the palate around it. Both sides of my throat by the uvula are swollen and I don't know if my tonsils are swollen or not but it looks as if so. There is a bit of white patches on both sides of throat by uvula. Also my tongue is always dry! I don't know exactly what's wrong. Anyone have any idea?
Avatar n tn Just wanted to add that it's not uvula that I'm seeing there. I can see uvula, which is hanging from the top, but there is also something sticking out right under the uvula and seems to be stuck to the tong.

I hate this more than anything. I want to know how to not let it happen If I go from obese to closer to my weight will it ease up ? I try to stay hydrated. It seems to happen more it I’m overtired Any help just any help I would be so grateful Swelling goes down after a few hours upon waking.
Avatar f tn I’m on my 10th day post op but the uvula has been about half inch off from the center amd swollen from day 1 and it’s remained that way ever since despite all the scabs having fallen off already and otherwise little pain by now. I also saw small scab in the base of the uvula indicating that they have cut into it during surgery, perhaps accidentally. I can’t swallow properly due to the deviation and swelling.
Avatar m tn You may wish to see an ENT doctor about your swollen uvula, since any kind of swelling in your throat can aggravate upper airway obstruction.
Avatar m tn It is very tiny (less than half a centimeter) and is the same color as my uvula. From certain angles, it just looks like a little flap of skin, but sometimes it dangles and looks like a tiny uvula next to the actual one. Does this sound like anything to worry about? Obviously my biggest fear is some sort of head and neck cancer (I am a 21 year old male, never smoked a cigarette, barely drink alcohol, no history of oral cancer).

Avatar m tn The doctor that diagnosed me was very concerned about the size of my tonsils, he told me that my uvula was deviated and he was worried about them but since he was from a low cost clinic he knew I couldnt afford to go the ER. So, treated me with strep and the swelling went way down. Every since then, I go through days where I still have trouble with the swelling coming back. The problem is that when I search for symptoms everywhere says that sore throat goes along with that symptom.
Avatar n tn ve looked at his throat and everything looks good. Nothing swollen. Could this just be from his uvula? Should I take him to an ENT? Our doctor just brushed it off last time I mentioned it. I really don't think it's good for his throat to be coughing and clearing it constantly for so long. He doesn't have a sore throat either but I figure if he keeps it up he will before long. It's starting to really drive the rest of us nuts too. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn I have had a sore throat for about 2 weeks, just the last 7 days little pimple on my tounge have appeared (lie bumps) and my uvula looks like it has burst blood vessles and is swollen.
Avatar n tn He demonstrated his swollen uvula by flipping it forward so that it was resting on his tongue. So now that my symptoms are showing I decided to take a look. The tip of my swollen uvula is not visible behind my tongue. I can feel it resting on my tongue and when I swallow, I get that familiar sand paper feeling that I can now identify as my tongue against my uvula. Research suggests that I am indeed just suffering from allergies, or perhaps tonsillitis. Whatever it is…I NEED TO FIX IT!
Avatar m tn After 7 days, I noticed 2 white spots on my uvula and in the past 3 days, my uvula has become enlarged, touching my tongue. Also, I have experienced some tightness in my throat, some slight difficulty breathing, feeling lethargic and have had some feelings of stiffness in my joints. I'm usually in perfect health. Prior to this encounter, the last time I had any sexual contact was 3 years ago.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctors today to get tested for herpes. I have a sore throat, plus 2 bumps on my uvula. Plus a little bit swollen on my lymph nodes. I asked the doctor if that's what it was, was herpes? She said no she didn't see any lesions. But does 2 bumps on the uvula & a sore throat sound like a symtom? I'm freaking out & im scared. :( any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn My vulva has been swollen for the past month or so. Sometimes it's so painful I can barely walk. I think it's because baby is pretty low. God bless!
Avatar n tn I had an endoscopy done on Friday and my uvula was really swollen Friday night and Saturday morning. It was purple. It is now Sunday and it is still really swollen, but not nearly as bad as it was. It is no longer purple, but has turned white. I have gargled with salt water today. Any other suggestions for bringing the swelling down and why it is white?
Avatar m tn Ok so I'm starting to think my chest pain and like occasional rib pain is just my joints maybe? I'm a pretty healthy kid but I've become lazy and I've been experiencing slight pain where I can crack my chest and ribs so I'm wondering how to fix the pain should I stop popping my joints and take a lot of ibuprofen or what?
Avatar f tn ve noticed the area around the incision site is more swollen today than yesterday, and the area is a bit more tender and painful. (I also went shopping this morning for about an hour and walking around more - not sure if the swelling is because I "did too much" or if it's just part of the healing process). Should I put ice on it? Lie down more?
Avatar m tn the problem will always resolve it self. however some people suffer from uvula necrosis, this is where the uvula will actually die off and remove it self from the rest of the body, however this isnt always the case pain usual subsides between 7 and 10 days.
Avatar m tn The whole thought of the uvula touching the tongue . . .ugh. See your doctor. It shouldn't be swollen like that and I'd say you need find out the cause. Does your throat hurt?
