I have similar problems! Swollen tonsil on one side, also swollen lymph nodes on neck (much larger on side of swollen tonsil) and extreme tiredness and muscle aches! Also my hair has gotten a lot thinner! Been tested for nearly everything, had the tiredness, muscle aches and hair thinning for 8 months, and the tonsil and lymph node for 3 months now!

Hi, a few months back I was diagnosed with tonsilitis and the treatment there was all fine. I recently realised my right tonsil and lymph node were swollen with cold symptoms and was told I have tonsilitis again and I am now on antibiotics. Blood test for glandular fever came back negative.

I have this feeling in my throat that something is stuck or swollen. I think I feel my right tonsil swollen and it seems to come and go, but for the most part it is swollen. No sore throat. I have had blood test done and methacoline challenge test done. Blood work shows allergies and methacoline challenge test shows it could be vocal cord dysfunction. I still have to see a allergist and speech therapist. My question is does my swollen tonsil have anything to do with this?

For the past year the lymph nodes under my chin have constantly been swollen. In the past four months I have been constantly sick. The doctor would give me antibiotics and I would get better, but when I was through with the medication within a couple of days I was back to being sick. I am a teacher and contributed my sickness to being around my students with their germs. I began getting concerned with the pain in my neck went to my jaw and then to my ear.

For two weeks my tonsils have been swollen with white spots all over them. But i have no other symptoms at all, no fever, headache, rash, cough, congestion or anything else. I've been holding off going to the doctors cause I feel fine, should I wait more or should I make an appointment?

My right tonsil is swollen and has been for 2 months. I think, my RIGHT tonsil (green arrow) is swollen and I had long term sore throat before but now only happened in the morning(when i woke up) and there are some yellowish color in my throat and long swollen shape (blue arrow)... I have a swollen tonsil that is not painful. After reading different posts about tonsil stones, I took a q-tip and pushed it and these disgusting yellow chunks came out. So, I guess I do have tonsil stones. My question is how long after you express the stones does it normally take for the swelling of the tonsil to go down? Thank you.

I dont know why you say that swollen tonsil is not ARS. Tonsil and spleen are organs of the inmune system, so I think they could be swollen in an early infection of HIV. What do you think??

Hi my uvula is hanging down touching my tonsil and I'm coughing a lot plus my left tonsil feel funny

i have one swollen tonsil, my throat is slightly red, the other tonsil is, inflammed, i've had 2 shots of rocephin and have been taking amoxicillin, and now azithromycin,.....i'm concerned because 2 shots should have killed any bacteria i would imagine,.....the antibiotics seem to do nothing,,..... i'm lost.

We went to see sm ENT after a round of amoxicillin gave no relief. She has a swollen tonsil on the right side that the ENT said was hard. She said the rest of the exam appeared normal but biopsied the hard spot, cutting a large chunk of tonsil out. It has been 6 days since the biopsy and we get results tomorrow. The PA for the ENT said maybe a tonsil stone, maybe tonsil cancer. She said she saw no signs of infection. When biopsied, we could see a large white spot.

After taking the medication as a single dose, the white spots had cleared but the tonsils were still swollen days later (only the right one singinificantly though - I've always had big tonsils (but no infections), with the same strange pink flesh pump). I tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea after 3 days of taking the meds; they came back negative (possible negative from meds or is that unlikely?).

Hi, my left tonsil had holes in it and recently got swollen. I have no white stuff on it and I did about 8 HIV tests in 4 months, all negative. The tonsil swelled about 4 weeks ago and hasn't gone down since. I tried gargling with warm salt water, manuka honey and lemon juice. I have no fever, night sweats or throat pain. Throat slightly red and and get a little sore only when I smoke. My insurance just ran out. Has anyone had this?

In addition to the swollen left tonsil, this was several weeks before the swollen tonsil, I have been having weird tingly feeling on my right mustache and sometimes burning feeling around my lips, at one point I had a re spot develop on the corner of my left side of my mouth while she first say her cold sore that week. We are both waiting for our results from PP maybe the end of this week.

I did see an ENT doc, but at the time my tonsil was not swollen and did not see anything concerning. Since then my tonsil has swelled up again. My lung doc said I had severe allergies to dust mites and I have put covers on my mattresses and pillows and taken my claritin and flonase and it seems to make a difference. But since I had to move heavy mattresses and did a lot of vaccuming my neck feels tense. I have had this problem since I got my new carpet cleaner and all the other problems.

Hi, You have a history of swollen left tonsil for 8 months now, with some fluctuation in size. Now the right tonsil too is beginning to get enlarged. This is not how a typical story of cancer of the tonsil unfolds. I would not worry about cancer just yet. Please get the opinion of an ENT surgeon, get a tonsillar swab for culture and sensitivity, do daily warm saline gargles, and take a course of appropriate antibiotics.

As there is tenderness, it could be an infection which is causing the asymmetrical enlargement of the tonsil. Sometimes persistent enlargement of the tonsil can sometimes be due to a lymphoma. It would be worthwhile to see if other lymph groups are enlarged namely, axilla and groin, these can be palpated, the others like those in the chest or abdomen may need a CT to detect their enlargement. Sometimes the tonsil may be removed for histopathological study.

Ive read alot about this being associated with cancer and its scary. Anyone have any insight on why one tonsil would always be huge? .

My sore throat was very severe for about a week in May and then it stopped hurting but my left tonsil has remained swollen. The lymph nodes in the left side of my neck have been swollen this whole time too, and I have armpit pain on the left side. I recently developed some sort of illness with coughing, severe sore throat, and sneezing AGAIN... I went to the doctor and they have no idea what it is! I have been tested for everything under the sun... all normal. Hope you get yours figured out!
