My mom said a few tiny white pieces came out later. The tissue is still red and swollen and very painful. Lots of pressure in the ear and pain with swallowing. Magic mouthwash provides relief. Does anyone know what this could be? If it is a large stone, what is the treatment? Symptoms of stones vs cancer are so similar. We are very scared and would like some opinions of others.
I can feel the lump in my tonsil with my tongue and if i push with my tongue a bad taste will follow. I have had pain behind my tonsil, in my ear and also behind the glands in my neck. I also have a wisdom tooth which is partially exposed. I dont know if they all are related pains or if its a wisdom tooth causing bacteria to enter the tonsils and cause stones but the pressure of the pain is very annoying and painful.
The main hope I have is the fact that my strongest and most persistent symptoms are all so localized together. Ache in left ear, swollen left tonsil, swollen glands on left side of my neck. I don't have much anywhere else. I have read that with ARS swollen glands tend to be much more generalized. So I'm kinda of getting myself a little convinced that this is just some infection in my tonsil/ear area - not ARS.
Hey! My throat has been irritated for about a month and the right side felt like it was a little swollen when I would swallow. I've also been having a bit of an earache, off and on, and recently started getting pain in my ear while chewing food. It was to the point this morning where I couldn't really open my mouth all the way because of my ear hurting.
I do have TMJ, I clench my jaw at night and often during the day. I have been having ear pain on that side. I did a endoscopy of my nose, ear and throat and the doctor said I was fine, just inflamed. Any ideas why inflammation can last this long? I was concerned with cancer but she told me she saw and felt nothing cancerous in my tonsil and throat. My ear is functioning properly but has pressure.
My right tonsil is swollen and has been for 2 months. The tonsil itself doesn't seem to hurt but when I yawn it is definately uncomfortable in my ear and sometimes when I swallow it is uncomfortable in my throat but nothing extreme. I was in to see my regular doctor in April and she did a strep test, which was negative, and also looked at my ears which she said there was a little fluid.
My right tonsil is twice as big as my left and constantly produces pea sized tonsil stones. (About half the size of my normal tonsil)
After one comes out, my throat hurts the rest of the day and I get a headache. - this May be related but I also get random sharp pain deep in the corresponding ear.
I also have chronic silent migraines corresponding to that side and what I believe to be slightly swollen lymph nodes.
Woke up Monday morning and felt worse. Looked in throat-red and left side looked swollen. Went to PCP and he said tonsillitis, pharyngitis. Temp was 99.4 but haven't had any temp since. Taking Tylenol/Advil around the clock for discomfort. Put on Azithromycin and Zovirax (in case there were any cankers behind tonsil that he couldn't see). Also had routine blood drawn for upcoming physical. Got results yesterday. Wbc 14.3 and Abs Neuts 12.18.
She has been running a fever and is very congested, and nauseated and has vomited off and on. Her right ear has now started hurting and she said there is alot of pressure. I have taken her to the doctor twice and she gave her amoxicillin, and some nausea medicine. She also put her on a fever schedule (Tylonol every 4hrs, Mortin every 6hrs all through the night) I finally have been able to keep her fever normal in the last two days, but everything else seems to be getting worse.
BOTH have very very shallow craters, and are ridden with pus pockets. I’ve already tried to push and see if they were tonsil stones, and nothing. Both sides are soft and slightly sensitive, more so on the left(small side). The other part of it, is that my lingual tonsil is in moderate pain.
I have no idea what this could be. I’ve been eating a lot less this past week, not intentionally out of pain. Because pain wasn’t a problem.
I have finished 2 courses of antibiotics, but I still have on-and-off pan in my right ear and on-and-off swelling in my right submandibular gland. Could this be an ongoing viral infection? Could this just be the result of damaging my ear via too much Q-tip usage, pushing fluid in there?
As you can see, both of us posting in this forum are concerned are symptoms maybe be due to HIV. Can you speak to that at all? Do you know if any of these symptoms are common with accute HIV?
My throat discomfort, when it appears is always just on the left, where the swollen tonsil is and before this experience I had a low grade sore throat, sometimes with a feeling of a lump stuck in it. Hasn't ever really hurt to swallow, in fact food and drink seems to relieve pain. Other symptoms-not always, might have accompanied it in the past. This all started about 3 years ago. I visited many Doctors back then, as well as an ENT.
I also have a swollen right tonsil. I went to the ENT and she said I should remove my tonsil. Actually all doctors have told me the same thing.
I have been reluctanct to take them out because I m afraid.
My appointment is on the 14 of March 2011 and today is the 1st of March 2011. I have no pain on the right tonsil, and no real problems breathing except before I go to bed. The left nostril hole of my nose seems to clog when I want to go to bed and when I sleep to the right it opens up.
I began getting concerned with the pain in my neck went to my jaw and then to my ear. I finally went to the doctor with a list of all of my concerns and he looked in at my throat and asked if I had my tonsils out. I told him yes when I was seven years old. He then told me he believed my left tonsil had grown back and referred me to an ENT. When I went to the ENT he agreed with my primary doctor about the tonsil.
t know what to do or what it might be and im tired of going to the doctor. I am still in pain with full and burning pain in my throat up to my ear and to my jaw, I have puss/ white spots (not tonsil stones) but I don't have a fever. Tried natural remedies which help slow the infection but not curing it. Not currently on antibiotics.
Can this be antibiotic resistant?
Three days after I got one swollen tonsil with slight pain when swallowing and white spots on tonsil. I went to the ER and they tested me for mono and strep. Which came back negative. Now they tested me for STD's and I am still waiting those results but I do not have fever and no pain anymore. However the tonsils have grown and now my right one is affected too.
Another possibility is that it is fungi, fungus or yeast from the girl that somehow attacked my tonsils.
Hi ladies, so I'm sitting at 6 weeks ans have had a mild cough for a few days, but I woke up this morning to a terrible ear ache and swollen tonsil on the right side. I've had several ear infections so I can tough it out but I want to make sure it won't affect baby.
Swollen tonsil on one side, also swollen lymph nodes on neck (much larger on side of swollen tonsil) and extreme tiredness and muscle aches! Also my hair has gotten a lot thinner! Been tested for nearly everything, had the tiredness, muscle aches and hair thinning for 8 months, and the tonsil and lymph node for 3 months now!
I have a red dotted rash on my legs and chest and bellly...have been having pain in my pelvis area for a while now and pain in the muscles of my legs hands and arms... I do sweat a lot at night but wouldnt say drenching... Have a fever that comes and goes... No pain in lungs or throat... There is no pus from the tonsil..it looks normal just big...the node in my neck seems round but i cant feel the back of it so cantvtell how big it is so it could be long...its firm rubbery..
Okay I was in hospital for cdiff an week later I got oral thrush now one of my tonsil swollen..when I swollow it irritates my ear ...and I have itchy throat..I been taking diflucan and using peroxide...feel like under my chin might be swollen I only feel it when I hold my head up...I'm so scared my partner donates ever month so he's clean but i have more than pne partner my papillae is also swollen at the back.. ...I'm having anxiety attacks I'm so scared...
