Avatar n tn There's no pain in or around the crown or the swollen gums, little discomfort, just a little swollen area about the size of a small pea, that's covering about half of the tooth with the crown. As far as I know it wasn't brought on by eating hot food. I've tried flossing in case there was food or a popcorn shell or something stuck there, but I can't feel anything, and nothing flossed out. It bleeds a lot when I brush my teeth, but is fine otherwise.
86664 tn?1291561395 ) it can aggravate the situation straight away, and the gums are swollen and painful for a while. Do you find that chewing makes it worse?

Avatar n tn A part of my gums is swollen and red. There are black specks on it. I don't know what it is. It's located beside my front teeth behind them. I tried looking it up but all i got was sexual diseases such as herpes. I have never had intercourses so it can't be that. What is going on?
Avatar n tn Gravity boots or yoga are better than a chiropracter for putting your spine back inline if thats the problem. An aspirin sized amount of calcium powder rubbed on the gums will provide very rapid pain control. Too much at one time will give you headache. Rinse mouth with warm water with teaspoon salt in it or clean seawater if you can get it. Oregano tea either cold or hot can take of infection. Oregano oil is also available. Chose this before taking antibiotics.

Avatar m tn For the next day or two try to avoid your gums when using your toothbrush, it won't cause any harm. You can also add a little salt to some warm water and rinse your mouth, this will help your gums and get rid of any food you may have missed. You really want this irritation to go away, because while theye're irritated, they may have some swelling, and food can get trapped in between your swollen gums and this would be the beginning of gingivitis. Let me know how you are doing!
Avatar f tn Take some Vit C! I had sore gums too and my birth class instructor told me to try taking some. It helps!
Avatar n tn Hi, Try that salt water thing. Make the water as hot as you can stand it and salt the water til it tastes sort of like the ocean. Swish around the area that feels like something is in the gum. The salt helps to reduce swelling. Ice on the outside of the face will help, too. If you can take ibuprofen, that will also reduce any inflammation around the gum. When you floss, do it GENTLY. If you irritate your gum anything in there will not come out.
Avatar n tn I was told to rinse with warm water and salt and to massage the gum. I was also told that it would take about a week to heal. After a week my gums were still swollen and painful.... I then called my dentist and he said that it was normal and sometimes it takes more than a week to heal and not to worry. Well, it is now two weeks after the procedure. Some days it looks like it's healing and other days it's swollen to the touch. The tooth that was originally acessed looks worse.

I googled bleeding gums and saw it at the top of the list of symptoms for leukemia along with bloody noses, frequent infections so my mind is jumping to this. Avatar m tn Rinsing my mouth with diluted hydrogen peroxide or warm salt water only makes it less noticeable temporarily but never makes it go away. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do or what's causing the discomfort? I'm paranoid that my gums are receding or that I'm in the beginning stages of gum disease. If it helps I'm 22.
Avatar m tn This is where the dead cells collect. Gargle with warm salt water. do not use alcohol to gargle. It has been found that alcohol used to gargle that far back in the throat can cause cancer. Only use rinses like Lysterine to rinse your mouth only. At the hospital they gave me Prednisolone which worked very quickly and I was packed off home with another 2 days supply.
