Common Questions and Answers about Swollen gums salt water

swollen

Avatar f tn I am 15 weeks tomorrow and I have been waking up with swollen gums. My sister had it too when she was pregnant but not until after 20 weeks. I rinse my mouth out with salt water and brush them softly every day but they are just always swollen every morning!
Avatar m tn 9) for the next three days he also got swollen red gums, blisters on his lips, and loss of appetite- probably because his mouth hurt so much- today is day 6- no fever- gums still red and swollen (dentist said to rinse w salt water), blisters Still evident on lip and tonight right after he brushed his teeth he threw up and had diarreah. The only thing he ate today was soup and some frozen yogurt. I think he may need antibiotics.
Avatar f tn If one never had swollen gums after taking Diltiazem Hydrochloride Extended-release Capsules USP for years and then suddenly has swollen gums (no redness or infection) could the Diltiazem suddenly cause this after getting a "deep cleaning" of the teeth, or 'probing for pocket depths' at a dentist?
Avatar f tn Take some Vit C! I had sore gums too and my birth class instructor told me to try taking some. It helps!
Avatar f tn I had really bad swollen gums in my 2nd trimester and I had to gargle water and salt around 3 times a day. The dentist was such a waste of time he said everything was perfectly fine and just to continue what I was doing. I also flossed and used mouth wash. It really helped!
Avatar n tn Except the salt water rinses. I did rinse with salt water once. It is swollen and now today all day my upper teeth hurt....ALL of them. I just want to pull them all out that is how bad it hurts. I know there must be infection up in there and I tried relieving the pressure by poking a needle in the swollen area but got no relief. I am at my wits end and I have no dental insurance!!
Avatar f tn The county pokes it here. I've lived here for almost three months, and still haven't gotten medicaid. It's so annoying. I'm about to call and raise hell. We can't afford a dentist right now. But I remember my dentist said to gargle warm salt water for like three minutes after brushing or something.
Avatar n tn I have an area of my gums, upper left side, right beside a crown, where it swelled up. It's been swelled up for about two weeks now. There's no pain in or around the crown or the swollen gums, little discomfort, just a little swollen area about the size of a small pea, that's covering about half of the tooth with the crown. As far as I know it wasn't brought on by eating hot food.
Avatar n tn and if u continue to have bleeding try a salt water solution and gargle....then return to brushing, but the bristles should not be hard nor ur brushing......
Avatar n tn This tooth seems fine but shortly after the gums on the lower teeth almost directly under crown location became swollen and painful This seems too much of a coincidence not to be related to the upper crown procedure. Can anybody shed any light on what may be causing swollen gums on lower row? Is it possible the dentist used excessive force while supporting his fingers to do crown? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hello I agree with Jerome Tsang that swelling of gums is bad so i want to share some home remedies that you can do to avoid swelling of gums 1.Add salt to warm water and rinse your mouth with it. The proportion of salt should be high i.e., 3 tbsp of salt in one glass of warm water. Gargle with this water and let it stay in your mouth for at least 30 seconds. Swoosh the water around inside your mouth so that it covers your teeth and gums thoroughly.
Avatar f tn Hi, My right lower back gum, behind my wisdom tooth has been swollen for about 4 days now. It started bleeding on the 4th day. I have been gargling with warm salt water and mouthwash, but it doesn't seem to be helping. The pharmacist prescribed Cotrimoxazole DS tablets, but it has not helped either. It pains a lot! I have not been able to eat any food because it is extremely painful when i swallow. Can you please tell me how i can remedy this? Thanks!
Avatar n tn A part of my gums is swollen and red. There are black specks on it. I don't know what it is. It's located beside my front teeth behind them. I tried looking it up but all i got was sexual diseases such as herpes. I have never had intercourses so it can't be that. What is going on?
Avatar f tn sometimes warm salt water rinses can help more than expensive over the counter meds. you do need to go to the dentist as quickly as possible because you need a cleaning and antibiotic to clear up the infection. if its more serious you may need additional procedures.
Avatar n tn I tried treating it with mouthwashes, diluted TCP, salt water and even oral thrush cream, but nothing worked. I saw my dentist 2 days ago and got antibiotics. The tooth is healing well but I'm still having problems with my tongue and gums. My tongue has lots and lots of tiny white spots on the ends and sides which are extremely painful all the time, it's got a strange shape at the edges.
Avatar n tn Gravity boots or yoga are better than a chiropracter for putting your spine back inline if thats the problem. An aspirin sized amount of calcium powder rubbed on the gums will provide very rapid pain control. Too much at one time will give you headache. Rinse mouth with warm water with teaspoon salt in it or clean seawater if you can get it. Oregano tea either cold or hot can take of infection. Oregano oil is also available. Chose this before taking antibiotics.
6514595 tn?1382067585 thought I had a sore throat because it hurts to swallow i have what looks like inflamed/ swollen bumps/taste buds in the very back of my tongue. Also running fever and my gums feel funny like a tickling sensation in my gums/Chun. Any ideas? I'm pregnant and I can barely eat or drink because the pain is so bad.
Avatar n tn The area just has no where to swell adequately so nerves are compressed and the hurt a lot. Rinse with salt water gargle if you can. A commercial product called Anbesol works reasonably well........
Avatar m tn Yes, that's the problem I've been finding. The only thing is that the more time that goes by the more swollen and full or sores my gums become. They are rather swollen now. I've been gargling salt water and listerine, flossing (with a LOT of blood), and brushing my teeth (also with blood) several times a day... it's still getting WORSE though as far as my mouth goes.
Avatar f tn ) it can aggravate the situation straight away, and the gums are swollen and painful for a while. I find gargling with salt water helpful, till the next time, but will discuss with my dentist again, as it doesn't seem to be trapped food at all, but the impact of chewing a hard substance. Do you find that chewing makes it worse?
Avatar f tn I feel so swollen everywhere. But mostly my gums, feet and fingers. They feel like they are going to split like a seam from the pressure! I've tried massage and soaking with hot water and epsom salts, any other ideas? It's keeping me awake tonight..
Avatar f tn So, I've always been very anal about my teeth had a lot of work done to make them "perfect" Iol.
Avatar f tn Previous to the sore throat, I had been experiencing gums that were red and swollen, and the skin on my gums peels off. Also the area below my gums, the crevice between the gum and cheek, in the 4 areas below my molars the skin is very irritated with sores and the skin over top of the sores is white and peels away. I also have sores on the side of my tongue, where it attaches to the back of my throat is red, irritated and white skin forms over it, but it peels away easily (like the crevices).
2093279 tn?1379547953 The common presenting complaints are severe toothache, breath odour, fever, pain when chewing, sensitivity to hot or cold, swelling of gums, swollen glands etc. It can be diagnosed with the help of clinical examination, dental x-rays and other tests. Antibiotics are given for the infection. Warm salt-water rinses and over-the-counter pain relievers may relieve the toothache and fever. A root canal may be recommended in an attempt to save the tooth.
Avatar n tn s a good idea but I heard that was a good remedy for pain. I still do the salt water rinsing as well. At first the salt water rinsing was hurting so bad also that I had to stop doing them but now it has eased up and I can rinse now.
Avatar f tn make sure your using a soft tooth brush, and also floss, you can also gargle some warm water and salt as well, dont use the commercial gargles and they're too harsh :)
Avatar n tn Warm salt water is always a good home remedy, but have a dentist diagnose the problem. It does not sound serious but have it checked out.
