Swollen gums loose tooth

Common Questions and Answers about Swollen gums loose tooth

swollen

Avatar f tn If the tooth has been fractured by any injury, the dentist may perform a root canal to prevent infection and then treat the loose tooth. Bleeding and swollen gums could be due to bacteria or a lack of a certain vitamin that can lead to swollen gums, gingivitis, scurvy, periodontitis etc. In gingivitis there are swollen gums, bad breath, easily bleeding of the gums during flossing or brushing and gums may appear red-colored.
Avatar n tn Yes, that's exactly right...a tooth can turn color when it's "falling out". See a dentist and in some cases they can numb the area and remove the tooth. When your child's tooth starts to get loose...wiggle it and pull it out when it's loose enough...NEVER wait for it to fall out itself. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn I brush 3 times a day and floss at least once, if not twice a day. I have no pain or swelling in my gums, but noticed that my front teeth (basically all but my molars) feel very loose. Has anyone else experienced that? Is this normal?
Avatar n tn The most swollen part of my mouth are the top left gums above the tooth, and pressure on the swelling is mild-moderate pain. Putting pressure on the Cheek, which is the most swollen on my face, is extreme pain. The cheek feels full/pressured, and I haven't had any mucus or anything Since Sunday (clearest nasal breathing I've ever had), but each day the cheek feels more and more swollen, and my head starts to feel like it's gonna burst.
Avatar f tn It could be pregnancy related, yes. If it is just one spot on your gums it could be an infected tooth. Sometimes when a tooth gets infected it will get swollen and get a bump above or below ( depending which tooth). If it drains, or if a tooth becomes hyper sensitive or you have a constant dull ache call your dentist right away. You may want to contact one anyway.

Avatar f tn the swollen gums are not exactly near the tooth. it is near the bones on the upper side.can anyone help me to know what is the problem and do i need to visit the dentist urgently?
Avatar n tn Hello, I have two broken teeth (#19 and #30) that I've been told both need root canals. The left one is half done (the endodontist did the root canal but put in medicine and placed a temp. filling for two weeks until I come back to finish it up) but the right one hasn't had any work done yet. I kept getting ear infections and tooth pain, so I've been placed on pain meds and amoxicillin/z-pak for the past month to keep things under control (not continuously mind you.
Avatar n tn I have an area of my gums, upper left side, right beside a crown, where it swelled up. It's been swelled up for about two weeks now. There's no pain in or around the crown or the swollen gums, little discomfort, just a little swollen area about the size of a small pea, that's covering about half of the tooth with the crown. As far as I know it wasn't brought on by eating hot food.
Avatar f tn A root canal about 15 years ago and then another one last year. Got my new crown on in March and after a cleaning my tooth wiggles and feels loose when I eat. I can actually make it sway back and forth and hear a gushing sound in my gum. Gums got all inflamed and irritated so went back to the dentist. They gave me chlorahexadine and said crown is completely cemented on there. No one has answered my question about the wiggling of the tooth. What might this be and how can I fix it? Thank you!

Avatar m tn Try and leave the tooth alone and use floss. Flossing around the gums will help the get the gums healthy and keep the tooth firm. When teeth get loose, it is not the actual tooth that is the problem. It is usually caused by gum disease called Gingivitis. By brushing your teeth in the morning and before going to bed at night and flossing every day, will help to keep your gums healthy and your tooth will be strongly held in place. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn My 7 months old Yorkie's back tooth is loose! It looks like it's broken and it doesn't look like a single tooth! There's also a little bit of blood and he keeps cheweing on it, I think it's bothering him? Should I take him to the vet?
Avatar f tn less than a day later the gums for that tooth were swollen and there was pus filling up. I went and told him about it, then he drilled a hole on the inside of my tooth to finally let out the pus and then told me to take antibiotics and then come back later on to get a root canal. That root canal wasn't successful, nor was the 2nd or 3rd one.
Avatar f tn If one never had swollen gums after taking Diltiazem Hydrochloride Extended-release Capsules USP for years and then suddenly has swollen gums (no redness or infection) could the Diltiazem suddenly cause this after getting a "deep cleaning" of the teeth, or 'probing for pocket depths' at a dentist?
Avatar m tn If the gums are swollen and red, that actually might tighten the tooth as it swells and grabs onto the tooth more tightly although it would explain the pain when you tap it. I would continue the medication and be gentle on the area. The area should tighten up. Its also possible that during the extraction of the tooth, there may have been some pressure/forces used to remove the tooth and it might have traumatized #9 resulting in a little looseness as well.
587537 tn?1220104892 Yes I did see an oral surgeon with full intention on getting moler#2 pulled, that's when I was shown on exrays that my sinus (right side) is full of congestion. I am still taking penicillin antibiotic and pain pills, the pressure has descreased, tooth is still loose and as long as I don't pick at that bone fragmant sticking out from my gums, it will not bleed. I can not stop flossing and brushing, I am hooked to keep clean!
Avatar n tn I can't tell what is wrong with my gums. Dentist says it takes time for the bone to settle and that everything looks fine. I don't trust him. It looks like I am going to have all the front teeth pulled because of the repair needed on the other teeth. I can't keep having them done one tooth at a time but will not use this dentist.
Avatar m tn As the gums around the tooth socket continue to shrink/heal I have developed a very sore spot on the lip side of my gums 4mm below the edge of the socket. Upon feeling & looking at it it appears that the top part of the tooth socket cracked and there is now a rough edge along this fracture with a sharp edge below the gums. (This fracture feels like it goes all the way down to the base of the gum area but is more subtle further down). Whenever I smile or move my lips it is sore.
Avatar m tn After the check up the female dentist told me that there was nothing wrong with my teeth and the lump was just the bone that was left after the extraction and the gums were swollen because of food touching the empty space of gums where i had the extraction. But she told me to come back the next day to make a crown for another tooth which was damaged. I came in the next day, and this time i had a male doctor.
Avatar n tn It feels as if the gums between a couple of my lower right molars has a loose piece of skin, and I find myself grinding that piece of skin -- either actual or perceived -- between my teeth. I've been using floss picks daily in an attempt to sever this mysterious loose skin against a molar, but I don't know that I've succeeded and the sensation returns almost daily. (I think the grinding is also causing muscle soreness close to my left ear).
Avatar f tn why do I have my gums swollen on the lower right where the last wisdom tooth is at ? I also fill a lump in the curve where my gums end and cheek start. Its been three days now and is not going away.
Avatar f tn for about a week now the left side of my face & has been extremely painful...it started with me noticing that my cheekbone was sore...then my eyebrow...as well as the thin skin beneath the eye....i began noticing the top gums & the roof of my mouth were also getting swollen and sore (on the same side only) .. very similar to the feeling i have had before when i had an abscessed tooth that needed to be pulled, however in that case, i KNEW where the pain was originating from .....
