My throat is no longer as painful as it was originally, but it is still very painful and colored the same way. Also, the infection has spread to my gums and gums feel smooth to my tongue, are red, black, and white, and are also very painful. Also, two more canker sores have appeared in the last 48 hours. I have an appointment to see my PCM at the beginning of next week. Is there anyway you could shed some light on to what is happening in my mouth?

My mouth has these really hurtful ulcers, my throat and toncils are painful and swollen and my neck glands are so painful. I went to the doctor and was neg. for strep. I got some antibiotics and some viral medicine but it hasnt been getting any better. all i have been able to eat is jello and popcicles. How long did it take to go away? what did you take or do?

My mouth was just sore in general with slightly swollen and sore gums, but didn't notice any spots or lesions on the gums or any other part of my mouth besides the throat area. The doctor said that swollen gums may be caused my any viral infection as the body fights off the infection. It sounds like I have no reason to be concerned?

I had protected vaginal and I received unprotected oral sex from a girl who did sex with many men without condom. I did give her oral both times we were together for approx. 10 min each time we met. My gums were swollen that morning before we met for the first time for an unknown reason irritated. I was Frantically worried about my gingivitis had developed a really swollen throat too. It really hurt to swallow, and my front gums were stillhurting me. I went to the dentist who also confirmed it was a bit swelled. During that time I went to the doctor to get a HIV test and get antibiotics for my gums. The gum pain went away a week and a half after, however, now I have a serious problem with Oral thrush. It's really thick at the back of my tongue, and it looks disgusting!
