Common Questions and Answers about Swollen glands in neck with headache

Avatar n tn my daughter has swollen glands in her neck both sides and is feeling a little sick she has a little red rash breaking out on her chest area and feeling tired what could it be?
Avatar m tn I have had swollen glands in my neck, under my chin, a headache and fatigue that comes and goes throughout the day for 3 weeks with no other symptoms. My wife is having similar symptoms as well. Wondering if this is a virus or some other infection that has been going around and if anyone else has had something similar going on.
Avatar m tn The glands in my neck (under my jaw) have been swollen for about 4 months now. They have never really hurt. But i've been getting sick (mainly just symptoms of a cold. Runny nose, post nasal drip or a headache a few times. And once i had a sore throat) off and on the whole time. Though, when i do get better i still have mucus that i'm hawking up throughout the day (its usually clear or bright yellow). I've been given antibiotics twice but it mainly just takes away my headaches and stuff.
Avatar n tn I also started the other day with a small rash on stomach it looks more like an irritation not sure if it has anything to do with my glands swollen. I also had ear pain in the beginning but better now with the Flonase. Why would my glands stay swollen? How long does it usually take to go down? Could it be cancer? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Fatigue Weakness Sore throat, perhaps a strep throat that doesn't get better with antibiotics Fever Swollen lymph nodes in your neck and armpits Swollen tonsils Headache Skin rash Loss of appetite Soft, swollen spleen Night sweats
Avatar n tn Hi, A painless swollen lymph node in the neck that is persisting for a long time needs further investigation. The commonest causes are infection and cancer. A fine needle aspiration cytology from the node would help in the diagnosis. Smoking increases the risk of developing many cancers including head and neck cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, esophageal cancer etc. You need to see your doctor again for a checkup and investigations.
Avatar n tn I always have and was wondering if anyone else out there that has these swollen nodes in neck also have problems with their teeth and also wondering if problems with teeth (infections and such) could cause the nodes in the back of the neck swell up. Also, the glands in the front of my neck have always been large... these problems I've experienced have gone on for years... So, I'm hoping its nothing serious because, if it is, and I have it for years.... what chance would I have?
Avatar n tn Ache in left ear, swollen left tonsil, swollen glands on left side of my neck. I don't have much anywhere else. I have read that with ARS swollen glands tend to be much more generalized. So I'm kinda of getting myself a little convinced that this is just some infection in my tonsil/ear area - not ARS. Trust me I'm still going to get tested, but does it make sense?
Avatar m tn hi doctors, I am a gay male and about a year ago I had unprotected sex with two people i was dating, within a four month period. The second one, and the last one i have had sex with since, was with a person who had no sexual contact with anyone previously and the first person had had many sexual encounters before we had sex, from what i understand to be one unprotected anal encounter, and several oral interactions with other males.
Avatar f tn I am always feeling tired or “under the weather” The last five months or so are what I have been concerned with the most however. The lymph node on the left side of my neck has been swollen for about five months to the size of a kidney bean (slightly larger) I have been patient for long enough I feel while the doctor told me to wait it out. Lately all of the lymph nodes on my neck have been swollen now. I want to know now what is going on and if I can feel better like ever?
Avatar f tn I have never suffered from migranes so headache, swollen glands, sore ears, neck, possible cyst and feeling nausious is driving me mad. Do you think I am right to be concerned or would you just put it down to a virus? I am trying to remain calm about the situation but the more i google my symptoms the more worried i get. Is there any chance it could be something serious which doesn't show up on blood tests or chest x-ray?
Avatar m tn Painful scalp area on right side of my head, swollen glands on the right side and a dull headache. It's Spring so I've attributed it to allergies or a mild virus. It's day three so if I don't see improvement item I'm off to the doctor. Extra vitamins are a good idea.

Avatar n tn I've had a runny nose for 5 days and last night I had a swollen sore gland on my left side. Today I have pain and swollen glands on both sides, a headache, a runny nose and pain in my neck. I have no pain in my throat, but the glands are sore to the touch and when I swallow. What could this be and do I need antibiotics or are there other alternatives?
Avatar f tn I went to the ENT, he felt everything and confirmed the gland in my neck was swollen (cervical node), and put a little tube through my nose to check my throat. Said he could see no sign of anything wrong, but he did prescribe amoxicillan for seven days in case of an infection. I took them, felt like I was getting slightly better, but then they seemed to stop working, and I have the same feelings. In addition to this, I have developed pain in my different areas of my throat.

Avatar n tn 4 days ago, I woke up with a bad sore throat, very swollen and painful neck glands, stiff and sore back of neck and bad headache, dizziness, fatigue, and fever. I also was hurting all over--including my skin. It progressively got worse (except the headache and generalized aching) and I finally went to the doctor 2 days ago. I was tested for strep and it came back positive. I was given pennicillin. My question is about my stiff/ sore neck. It hurts to turn it either way. Both sides hurt.

Avatar m tn My Lymph nodes in my neck are swollen (i belive) under my ears hurts...... bit of a sore throat....burning at the tip of my penis still there (and still very slightly). Also have Flu like symptoms, and tenderness in stomach. The women i was with remains very assured that she has nothing, as she has been tested and its was negitive.....
Avatar f tn What I am thinking here is that the headaches and the swollen glands may be connected. This may be a headache brought about by an infection or inflammation. You have mentioned that your husband sometimes dozes off in the middle of a sentence, which makes me think if there is any airway compromise here due to the swollen gland. If there is snoring when he used not to snore before, then this is something that needs to be promptly assessed.
Avatar n tn There are cold like symptoms of sore lymph glands on each side of the neck and runny nose. What is this? This discussion is related to Swollen left side of hard palate - around the arch of mouth.
Avatar m tn But I did not want to search too much, as I wasn't sure if it was truly lymph nodes I was feeling (was looking especially in my neck). Then one night I felt like they might have been swollen, so I stupidly dug in and now they're undeniably swollen, as I've irritated them terribly. This was Friday. Upon checking for my other lymph nodes, I believe they're all swollen now because I can feel them.
Avatar n tn Most of this has been going on for 6 months and then 1 week ago all the glands in the left side of my neck have swollen up and they are still swollen, with no sx of illness. I have been to many doctors and heard Rheumatoid arthritis (my rh factor is like 7) and ms. Any suggestions or comments would be wonderful. Thank You.
1108194 tn?1378428122 I have had this massive headache all week. About midway through my neck glands really swelled up. I went to my doctor and she told me it could be strep. I have 1 little white bump on the back of my throat. It is pretty red. I do not have a sore throat or fever. I do however have this massive headache. Nothing touches it. Its worse in the am. Any suggestions? I am on Ceftin for the strep. How long does this thing last? I thought you had to have a sore throat with strep?
Avatar n tn Discharge, itchy, red, red, eyes, etc. Headache too. I'm at a loss. It's the swollen glands on my right side that are concerning me. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I had a SEVERE sore throat, ear pain, headache and swollen glands in my neck. I tested negative for strep (Rapid Strep) and mono spot. On the 5th day, fever broke, I sweat like a horse, and two days later, the sore throat and ear pain was gone. However...it's been 3 weeks and I still have a swollen and tender gland on the right side (the most significantly painful side during the illness) of my neck.
