Avatar n tn Just to say I've had this a few times now, once ended up in A&E due to swollen uvulea(think thats the name) where they popped in some hydrocortisone and gave me piriton type tabs. They seemed baffled but noted my punchbag-like uvulea with some surprise and diagnosed allergic reaction. I was in a friend's spare bed on that occasion so mebbe. Just had another scary one (at home), seems to happen on waking during a doze.
Avatar f tn I still have a lot of the so called thyroid looking effects such as moon face, enlarged neck, swollen tongue with scalloped edges, puffy eye lids, buffalo hump at the back of my neck, so much hair loss that I have a baseball sized bald spot on the top of my head (and I'm a woman so this isn't good at all!), hair chanced color from natural auburn to gray-white within a short amount of time an changed texture and is now very thin. I also have brain fog, body aches, chronic fatigue and depression.
Avatar n tn I am in my 60's and have only just started to have either a swollen face or, on the last two occasions, a swollen tongue, which all started in September. The first time I had a swollen tongue was 4 weeks ago and I ended up in hospital. I had already taken Piriton but it didn't help. At the hospital they gave me Prednisolone which worked very quickly and I was packed off home with another 2 days supply.
Avatar n tn I had cardio workup in January and evrything was near perfect. My lymph glands have been swollen for months. I do have an Asymptomatic Brain Tumor in left back occipital area, but it's not been a problem at all, and has been there for nearly 20 years neurosurgeon says. My BP goes up & down like a rollercoaster, I can feel it, and know when it's happening. That's the part that bothers me ! If I make it thro the wkend, I wll be going to my neurosurgeon who's keeping eye on Ependymoma.

Running low grade temp (99.5 - 100.5); continued for several days then resolved February 15, 2008: beginning of cycle of migraine headaches. No prior history of headaches.
Avatar n tn It is still growing and I now have 5 swollen nodes in total in my neck. I also have had elevated liver enzymes with no real explanation ( I am not a drinker). Cold they be related? I have recently been having night sweats and fatigue issues as well.
Avatar f tn I had this as well, and had it removed before I had my kids. Funny, though, when my milk came in after each pregnancy, this area was swollen again! However, when I stopped the "engorged" stage, it went back down. It was a great surgery for me, b/c the lump rubbed against my bra when my arm was down, and did cause some discomfort.

Avatar n tn but the majority of times blood came out in the sperm, or only after ejaculation during urination, or both in the sperm and the urine. once i woke up without having had sex that week and urinated blood. i tested my blood, sperm, and urine and the only abnormality was a high psa level. my dr said it is very rare and is that high in 40/50 year old. i did a biopsy for prostate cancer and my dr said that everything was ok. after the biopsy, i waqs back to normal.
Avatar n tn So this last bout, i was still having the leaky problem in one ear while the other was swollen, bones in my head hurt, neck swollen etc. What's so weird about this leaky fluid....it is sticky like glue, and when it dries and crusts my ears up.....but then when i pick the crusts off, it's almost like that fluid 'knows' i just messed up its handiwork in my ear......so more fluid races out to redo it LOL. I've had this happen in the corner of my nose once too...

Avatar n tn Sometimes several times a day, sometimes none at all. I also have been getting increasingly stiff in my lower back, neck and legs. And my feet are feel like boards they are so stiff and very painful. Also getting a bit moodier than normal and having some trouble concentrating. I hope that I don't alarm anyone here but after doing a lot of internet searching and then speaking with a nurse friend and a doctor - not a formal visit, just a private conversation - things may be pointing to MS.

I also had my gall bladder removed 6 years ago and it seems to be in this area and wondered about the connection.My tummy often seems swollen from under boobs downwards after it. I kept a sore on my head for three months and my lymphnodes stayed swollen for about the same. I went to the dr, and since i live in georgia they just treated my with doxycycline. they say lyme disease is not down here. That was a week after lymphnodes swelled. 329994 tn?1301666848 Basically, he took a look at my records, is going to run one test - Sitz Marker test, where you basically swallow these capsules that have plastic in them, the capsule dissolves but the little plastic things remain. Then about 4 days later, you get an x-ray to see where the plastic things are. They can be scattered throughout your intestine, or they can be in just one area showing a blockage or you could have passed them. I go back to him in a month to discuss the results.

You can also push on your lymph glands in your neck, see if they hurt or if they're swollen. If so, then could be you have an infection going on from various sources, in which case an ear nose throat ENT doc could decide where it's coming from.

Avatar n tn The lymph glands in my neck - all of them, up and down the back and in front were so swollen I could hardly turn my head. The NP even brought in a student to see me 'cause she'd never seen anything like it...NP referred me to a surgeon...but the glands went down after a week or so and I never kept the appt. with the surgeon. At the same time I was going through the lengthy and traumatic illness of my father and finally, his death.

But the last few months they started aching and I have developed a mild cough if I talk a lot and sometimes when I go to bed at night. So I don't know if this is related to the eye thing in anyway, and I don't know what my next move is. I'm a singer and it's getting to the point where I end up coughing a lot trying to sing.
