Avatar m tn I have had an extremely sore neck on the left side for the last 24 hours, it has gotten worse in the last 6 and is also accompanied by a very sore throat and difficulty swallowing. Anelgesic and over the counter anti-inflammatory has been ineffective. Pain woke me from my sleep. Neck is extremely tender as is throat and glands are visibly swollen, particularly on the left. Have not had any trauma to the neck but a few days ago the right side was almost as painful.

Avatar m tn I dyed my hair this afternoon and ever since all my lymphoid glands have come out and the back of my neck is burning and has been really itchy. Avatar f tn I am diagnosed with a multinodular goiter and am awaiting an appointment with an ENT. Currently I have difficulty swallowing and my neck and jaw is constantly swolen and painfull. How do I cope with that? Painpill do not work.
Avatar f tn I have a goiter-both sides of my thyroid have nodules-benign-I have lost a lot of weight-18 lbs in last 3 months because I have difficulty swallowing. My tsh was barely there and my T-4 was low. If they eventually get my goiter shrunken are these low levels going to cause me to fatten back up-I have always been a tad overweight and this is the first time since I was in my 20's that I have ben at a regular BMI.
Avatar f tn much difficulty swallowing-food hangs up-no Hiatus Hernia-barium swallow confirmed that;swollen lymph nodes in neck;swollen salivary glands in jaw-linefidgety and turned into a total B/t@h-much irritability.Been to 3 different M.D.'s-getting expensive-all 3 say it needs to come out-but sending me to an Endo-can't afford-before deciding to take the darned thing out! Wondering why they just do not take the doggoned thing out and then stabilize my levels-would make more sense to me!
Avatar f tn Thyroid cancer can potentially cause hoarseness or difficulty in speaking in a normal voice, trouble swallowing or breathing, pain in neck/throat and swollen glands. On the website I looked at, they didn't list coughing. However, coughing can be a sign of acid reflux disease- so you may want to consult a gastrointestinal specialist if you suspect that might be a problem for you.
456874 tn?1218139741 He said immediatly that it was just a lymph node and the difficulty swallowing is due to the SICCA which makes you very dry. It is an immune disorder that attacks your lacrimal glands and tear glands. In my opinion-I may have some of the SICCA symptoms(the difficulty swallowing)but that is it!!!!! URRRR. My heart and body is telling me that even if I have this SICCA, IT IS NOT WHAT IS CAUSING SO MUCH OF MY PROBLEMS!!!!!! URRR.......Any input?
Avatar m tn The exudate seems to be on only 1 tonsil; and the swollen glands are more pronounced on one side of the neck than the other. These symptoms were not present in the initial 2 weeks. Did I put myself at a significant risk of HIV with my activity? Has anyone ever known, or come across a documented case, of anybody who has been infected in this way?
Avatar f tn Just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced swollen glands and itchy eyes when taking trileptal? I've only been on it now for 3wks and am currently on 75mg along with 375mg of Keppra twice daily. I don't have a rash but am wondering if this is just a cold or side effect from meds. I called the nurse yesterday at docs office they suggested being checked out by PMD, any suggestions? I dont have a fever or any other symptoms? Thanks for the feedback.
Avatar f tn They did eventually clear up all my symptoms and also the swelling in the neck throat glands and neck glands went away. Sortly after that about 2 weeks later I noticed I had swollen neck glands again but that only lasted a week then went away completely. Early decemeber I noticed my neck glands were swollen again. That followed by a dry throat and small cold that only lasted about 3 or 4 days those symptoms disappeared but my swollen neck glands continued to say.
Avatar f tn Symptoms of strep throat include throat pain, difficulty swallowing, red and swollen tonsils, swollen/tender lymph glands in the neck, fever, and fatigue. However, these set of symptoms may also be observed in a viral infection or some other kind of illness. To confirm if this is due to streptococcus bacteria, throat swab or culture and direct physical examination may be done. If this is due to a viral infection, it usually resolves after a few days.
Avatar m tn Exactly a week later I got a sore throat which was so bad I had difficulty swallowing food and drink. I also developed swollen glands all over my neck, jaw and my face has swelled up which is worryying. I also had a high fever for three days. Ive been to the doctor and he has prescribed penicillen which ive been taking for the past four days which has had zero effect on my swollen lymph nodes/glands. My appetite has surpressed and ive obviously lost weight, also my muscles ache chronically.
Avatar n tn I have also had constantly swollen glands at the back left side of the neck and near my left armpit since fall. The upper part of my neck swells up a lot, too, sort of like a huge double-chin running from one end of the jaw to the other. My throat feels tight, like everything inside is swollen and pushing against each other. It doesn't feel like strep and doesn't really hurt. I have been on two different antibiotics -- cephalexin and ???
Avatar f tn Since then he is always compaining his throat feels dry and constintly needs to drink something. In August he had a fever and swollen glands again the hospital diganosed him with lymphitis and again he took a course of antibiotics. A few months ago in September he had a low grade fever (101.0) and complained of a sore throat. I took him to the doc and she did a strep test that came back negative. Now Nov.
Avatar f tn Your body might be trying to fight off an infection, and if so, that would account for the swollen glands. The lump you are feeling in your throat can be due to anxiety, so again, try not to worry, but watch how it progresses.
Avatar n tn The prednisone helped my swollen tonsils, but the glands in my neck keep getting worse. No ibuprofen helps the pain of it, which is causing me a lack of sleep. Is there anything else I have possibly overlooked? I'm not exhausted all the time at all. my entire neck is killing me and behind my ears and head, occasionaly my jaw and armpits too. The headaches are barely managable and I am not sure what else it could be.
Avatar f tn Yes yes yes... Anxiety can cause worst symptoms... Dude.. It feels ugly when u feel ill.. I know everyday i feel something is wrong.. This *****.. Im thiking of getting help like therapy.. I cant take this... U should too..
Avatar m tn For the past 11 months I have been having digestive problems. It all started the sensation of abnormal swallowing & occasional tingling pain in the esophagus (base of the neck). No regurgitation or stuck food or inability to pass food or liquids.
Avatar n tn I now am experiencing a feeling of a lump in my throat when I swallow and the front of my neck seems swollen or enlarged. It is very difficult to swallow if my head is even slightly titled up. What could be causing this?
Avatar m tn I first noticed that I had a swollen gland in my neck about a full week ago... I later got a sore throat (so sore that I can hardly eat and have difficulty even swallowing water). I reached a 103 degree fever, had headaches, had nausea, very stiff neck, cold chills.. etc... I got tested for strep and mono and both were negative. Almost all of my symptoms have passed except for my sore throat, but now I am developing a large amount of canker sores...
Avatar f tn My cat has a lump on the side of her neck and the vet said it was a swollen salivary gland. It has increased in size by 60% since the diagnosis. Does anyone know what this means? Can a cat die from this? How can it be treated? Vet said the surgery is too risky since it's so close to the jugular. Help!!! Any info is much appreciated.
Avatar f tn i still have a little numbness once in a while. A little stiff neck. Slight swallowing difficulty on left side of my throat. Im having a little sore throat and having a feel of cold starting up again. This might be a second cold in 10 weeks. Today morning got a red swollen salivary gland on the floor of the mouth. Avatar f tn Someone told me it could be my glands swollen. But I havent had any trouble swallowing food. I also have pink eye. Not sure if there can be a connection. I'm just using visine for the pink eye. Any help or suggestions you can give me would be great.
Avatar f tn neck a little swollen below the ear, possibly glands, and a little pain, off and on mild headaches, top of head, around the ear, base of scalp (Tylenol helps this) this is ALL on the left side. Right ear if I press just a little on the little flap, brings on pain. I have no insurance, I pay out of pocket. I have a great doctor Ive had 35 years, and may end up having to see him.
Avatar n tn , no pain swallowing, but an irregular feeling like a lump or abrasion) WITH what seemed to be salivary gland pain, two (first tender, then hard) lymph glands in neck, and pain/throb in armpit, groin, and femoral region (no noticed lumps except swollen pain in groin while on Augmentin) and ear pain. I will say that I have chewed tobacco or smoked cigarettes for approx. 14 years.
Avatar f tn t I will sit there with food stuck in my throat unable to swallow. A few years ago I used to get these pains in my neck and they would just be a uncomfortable. And after 3 years that went away and then I started to get this heat sensation in my throat when ever I exhaled that went away after a month or two and then the swallowing problems started. I just wanted know if all these things could be connected and if it is it serious?
