1626225 tn?1306459118 I have sharp pains like lighting on the left side of my head from bottom of my neck where the glands are to behind the ear and some times they are so sharp that it leaves the area kind of numb. They last about 2 seconds. My neck is very tender and the doctor thinks that it might be related to my acid reflux problems. can anyone help me.

1548905 tn?1303331009 These days, I found pain swollen glands in my neck, behind my ear and under groin. Today, I went to see the doctor, he confirmed the swollen glands. And he also found I have sore throat, I dont feel anything about it. All the swollen glands cannot be seen by appearance. I dont have fever, no diarrhea, no weight loss. I also did the normal blood test, which showed WBC, RBC and all others are good. I am still concered abou HIV infection. I am wondering the risk of being infected by HIV.
Avatar f tn My issue is that the 2 glands on the sides of my throat are swollen, the one inside my chin is swollen, something small and round below my left ear is swollen and something on the outside of my right ear is also swollen. I do not have a fever and I have not vomited at all, which is symptoms of most disorders that have to do with swollen nodes. They do hurt and actually the one below my left ear itches.
1626225 tn?1306459118 My doctor has me scheduled for an Endoscopy next month, but in the mean time my glands on my left side of my neck are swollen and I have sharp pains from my neck to the back of my head......duration for a few seconds at the time very sharp beying my ear. She says my lymph node are tender and a little swollen.....what does this mean? The pain scares me....sometimes it feels like it's right insed my ear like it's going to bust something...so I have a inner ear infection too.
Avatar f tn Recently, the glands under my ear, next to my mastoid process are swollen and painful. I have no drainage in my ears. I went to a hematologist/oncologist who sent me for blood work and CT scans. I had mono in 2006, and sometimes it shows up in my blood work again and again; however, my blood work this time is all normal. My CT showed that I do have enlarged lymph nodes in my neck, but the hematologist/oncologist doesn't seem to think it is lymphoma. I am meeting with an ENT on Tuesday.
Avatar n tn About five days ago, I noticed one of the glands on the left side of my neck was a little sore and swollen. The next two days, I woke up with a bit of a headache and that heavy feeling in your eyes. I started noticing a bit of a fever - about 99.5. Now for the last two days, I have had up to 100.5 with white spots on my left tonsil and some pressure in my left ear. All the swelling/pressure is on the left side of my head/neck - but there's no pain or soreness in my throat.
Avatar f tn Swollen lymph nodes can cause pain in arms but not in legs. Yes, swollen tender glands in the upper neck can cause a pain in the ear. While you wait for your appointment drink plenty of fluids, rest when you are tired and try and regain your energy. Deep breathing exercises too will help calm your nerves. Lymphoma too can be another diagnosis. It is confirmed by X-rays, biopsies, CT scans and MRI. It is accompanied by weight loss in most cases. The lymph nodes are swollen but not tender.
Avatar f tn I went to the ENT, he felt everything and confirmed the gland in my neck was swollen (cervical node), and put a little tube through my nose to check my throat. Said he could see no sign of anything wrong, but he did prescribe amoxicillan for seven days in case of an infection. I took them, felt like I was getting slightly better, but then they seemed to stop working, and I have the same feelings. In addition to this, I have developed pain in my different areas of my throat.
Avatar n tn 4 weeks after I noticed burning during urination and about 6 weeks after I started having white discharge. I have had this discharge ever since and just in the past 3 weeks I noticed swollen neck glands, one swollen groin gland and an ongoing ear ache. Do you think the glands are responding to the infection in my body? What about the ear aches? I have taken a 10 day dose of omnicef in the past 2 months but the discharge remains. I am scared to test knowing I gave my wife something.
Avatar n tn My mom is experiencing odd symptoms. She has swollen glands in the neck and cheek and inner ear pain or the left side of her face. She also has pain on the left side of her face and the left side of her tongue running down her throat. When she touches it, it prickles, like there should be an open cut there. There are swollen bumps on the highest part of her cheek bone. Her glands, ear, tongue, and lip hurt the worst after eating or drinking. Any idea what could be causing this?

483088 tn?1212346249 I have swollen glands in my neck (above swollen thyroid!) and also pain under my right arm pit and down by elbow area at times. Recently I had a lump appear on my right groin which I initially assumed was a boil but it wasnt and it gradually dissappeared of its own accord like my body was gradually disintegrating whatever this was.
Avatar n tn I had a heavy cough about 3 weeks ago that has since faded. Since then, I have experienced moving discomfort from my left ear, to the angle of my jaw on the left side, and now stiffness / general discomfort in my neck under my jaw. My throat is pink, but tonsils are swollen. The left side of my tonsil wall is wavy, instead of the normal smooth. The top of one of the "waves" on the left side has a small white crest that looks like a cancor sore.
Avatar f tn I have been battling with my throat, that all to familiar lump feeling, clearing the throat, neck and jaw pain and swollen glands and I even had voice issues since 2009 and eventually got diagnosed with Chircopharengeal muscle dysfunction. I used to sing on a freelance basis (Old-age homes were my favourite!) and then my voice coach noticed that I could not reach my normal ranges and I had a consult with ENT that noted my pharynx and larynx (voice box) had acid damage.
Avatar m tn Sinus allergies also cause neck muscle tension and pain that spreads to the scalp, causes lymph nodes to swell and put pressure on nerves that cause ear and jaw pain. Allergies can trigger pain in the face, ear, neck, head/scalp and jaw/tmjd, as well as put pressure on the perotid glands and salivary glands. I've had some triggered by using prednisone to help treat sinus and lung infections.
Avatar n tn everytime i swallow its like needles in my ear and throat. what can i do to reduce the swelling and get rid of the pain. i m currently taking antibiotics. but its been 5 days and the pain does not subside.
Avatar f tn This can cause pain in whole of head and neck region. Glands in neck and temporal bone pain can be due to this. I would suggest you consult a dentist and an ENT specialist soon. Maybe your PVP can arrange it. If there is no problem in the teeth and ear, then there is a chance that you have compression of cervical spinal nerves due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc.
Avatar f tn neck a little swollen below the ear, possibly glands, and a little pain, off and on mild headaches, top of head, around the ear, base of scalp (Tylenol helps this) this is ALL on the left side. Right ear if I press just a little on the little flap, brings on pain. I have no insurance, I pay out of pocket. I have a great doctor Ive had 35 years, and may end up having to see him.
Avatar n tn The prednisone helped my swollen tonsils, but the glands in my neck keep getting worse. No ibuprofen helps the pain of it, which is causing me a lack of sleep. Is there anything else I have possibly overlooked? I'm not exhausted all the time at all. my entire neck is killing me and behind my ears and head, occasionaly my jaw and armpits too. The headaches are barely managable and I am not sure what else it could be.
Avatar n tn I was so hungry that I just everything very fast and immediately I felt sick and my stomach was in pain. So I went to the bathroom and purged until almost all of the food was out. After I finished doing that, I still felt like I had to vomit, but without purging. I felt the side of my neck and my right gland was about the size of a baseball. It was painful to touch like I pulled a muscle. My husband took me to the ER to get evaluated and the doctor tried to tell me it was a dental problem.
Avatar f tn Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. If you had flu like symptoms initially then it could be due to infectious mononucleosis too. So if streptococcal infection is ruled out then this should be looked into.
