Have you rinsed her eyes out to make sure she didnt get any sawdust/shavings in her eyes? If you can hear her breathing, like a raspy breath she could have came down with an upper resp. infection which can be treated with antibiotics. I would keep a close eye on her temp, she could have contracted strangles, but the abcess hasn't become large enough to view yet.

It can involve one or both eyes. The affected eye, is the right eye in your horses case. An eye with a strabismus will show excess sclera (white of the eye), and the pupil will appear to be slanted abnormally. A horse with this condition will have difficulty seeing out of the affected eye which will result in stumbling, bumping into things on the affected side, and increased nervousness (spooking easily).
It has been about 3 weeks since i noticed it but its not getting any worse. Is there an eye med i can put in it in case there is some infection going on without causing blindness? Also there seems to be a little more watery discharge from it, but he typically has a little watery discharge from his eyes anyway. He is an appy and i know i have to watch for moon blindness but just wondering if he hit his eye or scraped it at some point could the swelling below the eye be a sign of infection?
Other causes would be tumors
Today I noticed that her legs are swollen and she also seems to have ventral edema. I am familiar with this symptom in pregnant horses but I didn't know if it was normal for dogs. She is eating and seems fine otherwise, except she is moving much slower and appears uncomfortable. Should I be concerned?
For example, i used a face wash with benzoyl peroxide for 5 months with no problems and the one morning i woke up and my eyes were swollen with hives. Now anytime i use anything on my face with that ingredient i get hives around my eyes. A few days ago I washed my hair with head and shoulders ( a shampoo i randomly use all the time) and woke up the next morning once again with hives around my eyes.
It started with tingling and numbness in toes and fingers and has moved up. Today just all of a sudden my eyes started getting really dry and have been like that all day. I put some drops in both eyes and nothing it still feels the same extremely dry. I read somewhere that people can go blind in a few hours or days from optic neuritis? What should I do because no one believes me or knows what I am dealing with. I don't want to go blind so am I racing with the clock?
Most hospitals have Eye MDs on staff and on call from ERs. It's not likely they would call an Eye MD for your symptoms. I suggest you call an Eye MD tomorrow and make an appointment for an exam. in the USA find one at www.aao.
I have owned and rode horses all my life. I am having difficulty coping with not being able to ride because ppl told me I cant. Is it seriously that big a deal to ride? I don't want to hurt my baby, but it's literally the only thing I have done for myself and can't deal with giving it up for so long...
My calves have gotten huge, and I get Charlie horses a lot from it. Happens, just drink water and prop up when you need to.
I had a LASIK surgery 11 years before. I got HSV 1 and HSV 2 positive (I think that also for the past 10 years). The 2 that I had had for 10 years have been easy keepers, the one I got 2 years ago is at the point of obesity and the one I recently got is skinny, skinny... Which is my point, I have had horses for 30 years, I am at a complete loss... Brought this little filly home and all my horses are thin and sickly... I have tried everything...
