My cat has an infection in her left eye that is concering me. She has had it for about 2 weeks now. Her acual eye looks fine but, she has a green discharge coming from her eye. She can open her eye but, she mainly keeps it closed. I don't see any swollen tissue in or around her eye. I was going to put "Equate's" version on neosporen on her eye because I read online someones vet said it has the same ingrediants as a medication they use for their eyes.
I have suffered with allergies for about 15 years, mostly occasional sneezing and itchy skin when in contact with some cats. The main problem is a blocked up nose, I have had allergy testing which confirm allergies to cats, dogs and rabbits, and a mild allergy to pollen. I have also have asthma which is under control. I have used various anti-histimines and nasal steroid sprays with some success.
My Cat Thomas, got into a cat fight recently and he must of caught a claw in the eye. the last few days his eye seemed to be getting worse by the hour. i immediately used NFZ Puffer for his eye to help fight infection, it seems as nothing i tried is working just a day ago i noticed a goose egg type bump by his cheek bone. later that day it burst leaving blood drops all over. i tended to it by putting some peroxide around the wound. today it seems like it has done nothing but swell up.
Hi, I noticed on my 3 month old kitten that the area around her eye is pink/red, swollen, and watery. She doesnt seem to be in pain but she is rubbing it every so often. I'm wondering if it could be pink eye? Please help!

Upper respiratory infections are very common in cats especially kittens. Your kitten either exposed your older cats to a new virus or the stress of bringing a new kitten into the house reactivated a virus they already had in their bodies. This is a very common situation.
The best thing is to have them checked by your veterinarian to make sure they are not dehydrated.
Her leg is swollen and she did fall from the counter. I plan to take to vet in morning since they are closed now.
When I do itch them, they would swell and by the morning become crusty on my upper and lower eyelids and leaves dark stains around them. Eye discharge is generally a sign of an infection and that does require medication, usually antibiotics, or it can become very serious (I have seen more cats go blind in one eye than I can remember, it's very common with eye infections that go untreated). Especially if the discharge is thick or creamy colored.
I really wouldn't use the boric acid solution (really!). You should also avoid wiping the eye too much, as it could spread to the other eye pretty easily.
My 9 yr. old cat has been sneezing for over 2 yrs. He also has constant left eye & left nose drainage...sometimes bloody. Vet has no answers here so gave him an antibiotic shot. The shot was ineffective.His appetite is fine.He does'nt purr out loud so I've wondered if it's an obstruction.
When we got Harley he was with a group of cats that were living in the woods. I was able to capture him and two others. All three of them had such bad teeth problems that after a time they had all their teeth pulled except for one cat, they left him four. The vet was unable to determine how old they were because of the poor teeth. I would think it would take maybe four years to have them get so bad, guessing, so that would make Harley 12 now.
